マタイの福音書 18
1 其時弟子等、イエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、天國にて大なる者は誰なりと思ひ給ふか、と。
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 イエズス一人の幼兒を召寄せ、彼等の眞中に立たせて、
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 曰ひけるは、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、汝等若翻りて幼兒の如くに成らずば、天國に入らざるべし、
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 然れば総て此幼兒の如く自謙る人は、天國にて大なる者なり、
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 又我名の為に斯の如き一人の幼兒を承くる人は、我を承くる者なり。
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 然れど我を信ずる此最小き者の一人を躓かする人は、驢馬挽磨を頚に懸けられ、海の深處に沈めらるるこそ彼に益あるなれ。
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 躓あるが為に世は禍なる哉。躓は來らざるを得ざれども、躓を來す人は禍なる哉。
Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. (aiōnios g166)
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. (Geenna g1067)
10 汝等慎みて、此最小き者の一人をも軽んずること勿れ、我汝等に告ぐ、彼等の[天]使等天に在りて、天に在す我父の御顔を常に見るなり。
Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
11 蓋人の子は失せたる者を救はんとて來れり。
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
12 汝等之を何とか思へる、百頭の羊を有てる者、若其一頭を失はば、九十九頭を山に措き、往きて其迷へるものを尋ぬるに非ずや。
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 然て之を見出すに至らば、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、迷はざる九十九頭の羊の上よりも、尚此一頭の上を喜ぶなり。
And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 斯の如く、此最小き者の一人にても、其亡ぶるは、天に在す汝等の父の御旨にあらざるなり。
Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
15 若汝の兄弟汝に罪を犯さば、往きて汝と彼と相對して彼を諌めよ、若汝に聴きなば汝兄弟を得たるべし。
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 汝に聴かずば、二三の證人の口によりて事の凡て定らん為に、一二人を伴へ、
But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 若是等に聴かずば教會に告げよ、教會にも聴かずば、汝に取りて異邦人税吏の如き者と見視做すべし。
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the Assembly: but if he neglect to hear the Assembly, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
18 我誠に汝等に告ぐ、総て汝等が地上にて繋がん所は、天にても繋がるべし、又総て汝等が地上にて釈かん所は、天にても釈かるべし。
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be that which is bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be that which is loosed in heaven.
19 我更に汝等に告ぐ、若汝等の中二人地上にて同意せば、何事を願ふとも、天に在す我父より賜はるべし。
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 蓋我名を以て二三人相集れる處には、我其中に在り、と。
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
21 時にペトロイエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、主よ、我兄弟の我に罪を犯すを、幾度か宥すべき、七度までか。
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 イエズス曰ひけるは、我汝に七度までとは云はず、七度を七十倍するまでせよ。
Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
23 然れば天國は、其臣下に會計せしめんとせる王の如し、
Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 會計を始めしに、王に一萬タレントの負債ある者差出されしが、
And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 返す術なき儘に、主君は彼と、其妻子と凡ての所有物とを売りて還す事を命ぜり。
But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 然るに其臣下平伏して願ひけるは、暫く我を忍容し給へ、我悉く返済せん、と。
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 主君其臣下を憐みて之を許し、其負債をも免せり。
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 然て彼臣下出でて、己に百デナリオの負債ある、一人の同僚に遇ひしかば、負債を還せと云ひつつ、執へて其喉を扼むるに、
But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 同僚平伏して、姑く我を忍容し給へ、我悉く返済せん、と願へども、
And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 彼肯ぜずして去り、負債を還すまで之を監獄に入れたり。
And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 同僚等は、其顛末を見て甚く憂ひ、來りて事の次第を悉く主君に語りしかば、
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 主君彼を召して云ひけるは、汝兇惡の臣、汝の願に因りて、我悉く負債を汝に免せり、
Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 然れば我が汝を憐みし如く、汝も亦同僚を憐むべかりしに非ずや、と。
Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 斯て主君怒りて、負債を盡く還すまで彼を刑吏に付せり。
And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 汝等若各心より己が兄弟を宥さずば、我が天父も亦、汝等に斯の如く為し給ふべし。
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
