エペソ人への手紙 2
1 第二項 神が教會を建て給ひし方法 汝等は原己が過と罪とによりて死したる者なりしが、
and you also [[he raised up]], who were dead through your trespasses and sins,
in which ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience; (aiōn g165)
3 我等も皆曾て其罪の中に在りて、我肉身の慾の儘に生活し、肉と心との欲する所を行ひて、他の人々の如く、生來怒の子なりき。
among whom even we all had our way of life in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as others;
4 然れども慈悲に富み給へる神は、我等を愛し給ひて御寵愛の餘り、
but God, who is rich in mercy, on account of his great love wherewith he loved us, gave to us,
5 罪の為に死せし我等をキリストと共に活かし給ひ――汝等の救はれしも即ち恩寵によれり、――
even when dead through our trespasses, life with Christ, —by grace have ye been saved, —
6 又共に復活せしめ、キリスト、イエズスに於て共に天に坐せしめ給へり。
and raised us up with him, and caused us to sit with him in the heavenly regions in Christ Jesus,
that he might show in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
8 蓋汝等が信仰を以て救はれたるは、恩寵に由るものにして自らに由るに非ず、即ち神の賜なり。
For by grace ye have been saved, through faith; and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
9 又業に由るにも非ず、是誇る人のなからん為なり。
not of works, lest any one should boast.
10 其は我等は神の作品にして、神の豫め備へ給ひし善業の為に之に歩む様、キリスト、イエズスに於て[新に]造られたる者なればなり。
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.
11 然れば原肉體に於て異邦人にして、所謂割禮を人の手によりて身に受けたる人々より、今も尚無割禮と稱へらるる汝等、次の事を記憶せよ。
Wherefore remember, that in time past ye, the gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcised by those who are called circumcised, having the circumcision of the flesh, performed by hand, —
12 即ち彼時には、汝等キリストなくして、イスラエルの國籍外に置かれ、彼約束を結びたる諸契約に與らず、希望なく、此世に神なき者たりしに、
that ye were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God, in the world;
13 今はキリスト、イエズスに在りて、前に遠かりし汝等、キリストの御血を以て近き者となれり。
but now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who formerly were afar off, have been brought nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 蓋イエズスは我等の平和にて在す、即ち兩方を一にし、隔の中垣及び恨を、己が肉體に於て解き、
For it is he who is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition between us, that is, the enmity;
15 種々の掟ある律法を、其命ずる所と共に廃し給へり。是平和を成して兩方の人々を己に於る一人の新しき人に造らん為、
having abolished in his flesh the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create of the two one new man in himself, thus making peace,
16 又[神]に對する恨を十字架の上に殺し、其十字架を以て兩方の人々を一體と成し、神と和がしめ給はん為なり。
and might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain on it the enmity.
17 又來りて、遠かりし汝等にも幸に平和を告げ、近かりし人々にも平和を告げ給へり。
And he came and brought the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off, and of peace to those that were near;
18 蓋キリストによりてこそ、我等兩方の人々は、同一の霊を以て父に近づき奉ることを得るなれ。
for through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
19 然れば、汝等は最早他所人寄留人に非ず、聖徒等と同國民となりて神の家人なり。
So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellow-citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God,
20 使徒と預言者との基礎の上に建てられ、其隅石は即ちキリスト、イエズスに在して、
and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner-stone;
21 全體の建物は之に建築せられ、漸次に築上げられて、主に於て一の聖なる神殿となり、
in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord;
22 汝等も之に於て、聖霊により、神の住處として共に建てらるるなり。
in whom ye also are built together into a dwelling-place of God in the Spirit.
