コリント人への手紙第二 7
1 然れば我至愛なる者よ、我等此御約束を得て己を霊肉の凡ての穢より潔め、神を畏れ奉りて聖となる事を全うすべし。
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2 第五項 前書簡に関して説明を與へコリント人との親睦を全うせんとす 我等を承容れよ、我等は誰をも害せず、誰をも傷はず、誰をも掠めし事なし。
Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3 我が斯の如く言ふは汝等を咎めんとには非ず、其は生死を倶にすべく汝等我等の心に在りとは我が既に言ひたる所なればなり。
I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4 我汝等を信用する事大いにして、汝等を以て誇とする事大いなり。我等が一切の患難の中に於て、我は慰に満ち喜に堪へず。
Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5 蓋マケドニアに至りし時、我等の肉身は聊も安き事なく、一切の患難に遇ひ、外には争、内には懼ありき。
For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6 然れど謙る人々を慰め給ふ神は、チトの來着に由りて我等を慰め給へり。
Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7 唯其來着に由りて耳ならず、尚彼が汝等の中に慰められし慰を以てせり。即ち汝等の我を慕ふ事、其歎、其熱心を我等に告げしかば、我喜は更に大いなりき。
And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8 蓋我書簡を以て汝等を悲ましめたれども、之を後悔せず、假令其書簡が暫しにても汝等を悲ましめしを見て後悔したる事ありとも、
For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9 今は喜べり。是汝等の悲みし故に非ず、悲みて改心するに至りたる故なり。汝等の悲みしは神に順ひしものなれば、我等より何等の損害をも受けざるなり。
Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10 蓋神に順ひての悲は、悔なき救霊に至るべき改心を生じ、世間の悲は死を生ず。
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11 看よ汝等が神に順ひて悲みしは、如何ばかりの奮發、而も弁駁、而も憤激、而も恐怖、而も愛慕、而も熱心、而も罪を責むる事を汝等の中に生じたるかを。汝等は萬事の上に此件に就きて穢に染まざる事を顕せり。
For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12 然れば我が汝等に書遣りしは、害を為しし人の為に非ず、害を受けし人の為にも非ず、我等が汝等に對して神の御前に有てる奮發を顕さん為なり。
Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13 斯て我等は慰を得、慰を得たる上に尚チトの喜によりて一層喜べり。其は彼の精神、汝等一同に由りて安んぜられたればなり。
Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14 我曾て彼の前に汝等を以て誇とせしも耻とする所なく、我等が汝等に語りし所の皆眞なりし如く、チトの前に誇りし事も亦眞となれり。
For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15 彼は汝等一同の從順と恐慄きつつ己を歓迎したる態とを思出して、其腸の汝等に向へる事更に深し、
And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16 我萬事につけて汝等を信用するを喜ぶ。
I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
