コリント人への手紙第一 6
1 第二項 信者間の訴訟 汝等の中に相関係せる事件ある時、其審判を聖徒に願はずして、正しからざる人々に願ふ事を敢てする者あるは何ぞや。
Can it be that, when one of you has a dispute with another, he dares to have his case tried before the heathen, instead of before Christ’s People?
2 聖徒は此世を審くべき者なりと知らずや、然れば世は汝等より審かるべきに、汝等は、極めて些細なる事を審くに足らざるか。
Do not you know that Christ’s People will try the world? And if the world is to be tried by you, are you unfit to try the most trivial cases?
3 知らずや我等は天使等を審くべき者なり、况や世の事をや。
Do not you know that we are to try angels — to say nothing of the affairs of this life?
4 故に若審くべき此世の事件あらば、之を審く為に教會内の卑しき人々を立てよ。
Why, then, if you have cases relating to the affairs of this life, do you set to try them men who carry no weight with the Church? To your shame I ask it.
5 斯く言へるは汝等を辱しめんとてなり。然らば其兄弟の間の事を審くべき賢き者、汝等の中に一人も在らざるか。
Can it be that there is not one man among you wise enough to decide between two of his Brothers?
6 然るを兄弟兄弟を相手取りて、而も不信者の前に訴訟を起す。
Must Brother go to law with Brother, and that, too, before unbelievers?
7 互に訴訟のある事すら、既に疑もなく汝等の中の失態なり。何故に寧不義を受けざる、何故に寧害を忍ばざる、
To begin with, it is undoubtedly a loss to you to have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather let yourselves be wronged? Why not rather let yourselves be cheated?
8 却て汝等自ら不義と詐欺とを為し、而も兄弟に對して之を為せるは何ぞや。
Instead of this, you wrong and cheat others yourselves — yes, even your Brothers!
9 不義者は神の國を得る事なしと知らずや。誤ること勿れ、私通者も、偶像崇拝者も、姦淫者も、
Do not you know that wrong-doers will have no share in God’s Kingdom? Do not be deceived. No one who is immoral, or an idolater, or an adulterer, or licentious, or a sodomite,
10 男娼も、男色者も、盗賊も、貪慾者も、酩酊者も、侮辱者も、掠奪者も、神の國を得ざるべし。
or a thief, or covetous, or a drunkard, or abusive, or grasping, will have any share in God’s Kingdom.
11 汝等の中の或人々、曩には斯の如き者なりしかど、我主イエズス、キリストの御名により、又我神の霊によりて、既に洗潔められ、聖とせられ、義とせられたり。
Such some of you used to be; but you washed yourselves clean. You became Christ’s People! you were pronounced righteous through the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the Spirit of our God!
12 何事も我に可なりと雖も、皆益あるには非ず。何事も我に可なりと雖も、我は決して何物の奴隷ともならじ。
Everything is allowable for me! Yes, but everything is not profitable. Everything is allowable for me! Yes, but for my part, I will not let myself be enslaved by anything.
13 食物は腹の為、腹は食物の為なれども、神は此も彼も共に亡ぼし給ふべし。肉體は私通の為に非ずして主の為なり、主も亦肉體の為なり。
Food exists for the stomach, and the stomach for food; but God will put an end to both the one and the other. The body, however, exists, not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body;
14 抑神は主を復活せしめ給ひたれば、御能力を以て我等をも亦復活せしめ給ふべし。
and, as God has raised the Lord, so he will raise up us also by the exercise of his power.
15 汝等の體はキリストの肢なりと知らずや、然らばキリストの肢を奪ひて娼婦の肢と為さんか、[否々]。
Do not you know that your bodies are Christ’s members? Am I, then, to take the members that belong to the Christ and make them the members of a prostitute? Heaven forbid!
16 娼婦に着く人は之と一體になると知らずや、即ち曰く、「二人一體に在らん」と、
Or do not you know that a man who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body (for ‘the two,’ it is said, ‘will become one’);
17 然れど主に着く人は一の霊となるなり。
while a man who is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit?
18 私通を避けよ、人の犯す罪は何れも身の外に在れども、私通する人は己が身を犯すなり。
Shun all immorality. Every other sin that men commit is something outside the body; but an immoral man sins against his own body.
19 又汝等の五體は神より賜はりて、汝等の中に在す聖霊の神殿なる事、汝等が汝等自らのものに非ざる事を知らざるか。
Again, do not you know that your body is a shrine of the Holy Spirit that is within you – the Spirit which you have from God?
20 蓋汝等は高價を以て買はれたり、己が身に於て神に光榮を歸し奉れ。
Moreover, you are not your own masters; you were bought, and the price was paid. Therefore, honour God in your bodies.
