ゼパニヤ書 3
1 わざわいなるかな、このそむき汚れた暴虐の町。
Woe to her that is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2 これはだれの声にも耳を傾けず、懲しめを受けいれず、主に寄り頼まず、おのれの神に近よらない。
She hearkened not to any voice; she accepted no correction; in the Lord she did not trust; to her God she drew not near.
3 その中にいるつかさたちは、ほえるしし、そのさばきびとたちは、夜のおおかみで、彼らは朝まで何一つ残さない。
Her princes in her midst are roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they leave not a bone for the morning.
4 その預言者たちは、放縦で偽りびと、その祭司たちは聖なる物を汚し、律法を破る。
Her prophets are thoughtless men of treachery: her priests have profaned the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
5 その中にいます主は義であって、不義を行われない。朝ごとにその公義を現して、誤ることがない。しかし不義な者は恥を知らない。
The just Lord is in her midst, he will not do wrong; morning after morning doth he bring his justice to the light [of day], it never faileth; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
6 「わたしは諸国民を滅ぼした。そのやぐらは荒れはてた。わたしはそのちまたを荒したので、ちまたを行き来する者もない。その町々は荒れすたれて、人の姿もなく、住む者もない。
I have cut off nations; destroyed are their battlements; I have laid in ruins their streets, so that none passeth through; their cities are wasted, without a man, without an inhabitant.
7 わたしは言った、『これは必ずわたしを恐れ、懲しめを受ける。これはわたしが命じたすべての事を見失わない』と。しかし彼らはしきりに自分の行状を乱した」。
I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt accept correction; so that her dwelling should not be cut off, all that I had decreed to bring over her; but they rose up early, they acted corruptly in all their doings.
8 主は言われる、「それゆえ、あなたがたは、わたしが立って、証言する日を待て。わたしの決意は諸国民をよせ集め、もろもろの国を集めて、わが憤り、わが激しい怒りをことごとくその上に注ぐことであって、全地は、ねたむわたしの怒りの火に焼き滅ぼされるからである。
Therefore wait but for me, saith the Lord, for the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment [cometh] to gather the nations, for me to assemble the kingdoms, to pour over them my indignation, all the fierceness of my anger; for through the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured.
9 その時わたしはもろもろの民に清きくちびるを与え、すべて彼らに主の名を呼ばせ、心を一つにして主に仕えさせる。
Yea then will I change unto the people a pure language, that they may all call on the name of the Lord, to serve him with one accord.
10 わたしを拝む者、わたしが散らした者の娘はエチオピヤの川々の向こうから来て、わたしに供え物をささげる。
From beyond the rivers of Cush shall they bring my suppliants, even the assembly of my dispersed, as an offering unto me.
11 その日には、あなたはわたしにそむいたすべてのわざのゆえに、はずかしめられることはない。その時わたしはあなたのうちから、高ぶって誇る者どもを除くゆえ、あなたは重ねてわが聖なる山で、高ぶることはない。
On that day shalt thou not be ashamed because of all thy doings, whereby thou hast transgressed against me; for then will I remove out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt never more be haughty again on my holy mount.
12 わたしは柔和にしてへりくだる民を、あなたのうちに残す。彼らは主の名を避け所とする。
And I will leave remaining in the midst of thee a humble and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 イスラエルの残りの者は不義を行わず、偽りを言わず、その口には欺きの舌を見ない。それゆえ、彼らは食を得て伏し、彼らをおびやかす者はいない」。
The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, nor speak lies; and there shall not be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue; for they shall feed and lie down, with none to make them afraid.
14 シオンの娘よ、喜び歌え。イスラエルよ、喜び呼ばわれ。エルサレムの娘よ、心のかぎり喜び楽しめ。
Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 主はあなたを訴える者を取り去り、あなたの敵を追い払われた。イスラエルの王なる主はあなたのうちにいます。あなたはもはや災を恐れることはない。
The Lord hath removed thy punishment, he hath cleared away thy enemy: the king of Israel, the Lord, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.
16 その日、人々はエルサレムに向かって言う、「シオンよ、恐れるな。あなたの手を弱々しくたれるな。
On that day shall it be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: [to] Zion, Let not thy hands become weak.
17 あなたの神、主はあなたのうちにいまし、勇士であって、勝利を与えられる。彼はあなたのために喜び楽しみ、その愛によってあなたを新にし、祭の日のようにあなたのために喜び呼ばわられる」。
The Lord thy God is in the midst of thee, the mighty one who will save; he will be glad over thee with rejoicing; he will be silent in his love, he will exult over thee with song.
18 「わたしはあなたから悩みを取り去る。あなたは恥を受けることはない。
Those that mourn far away from the festive assembly do I gather, those that were separated from thee, [that have borne] for thee the burden of reproach.
19 見よ、その時あなたをしえたげる者をわたしはことごとく処分し、足なえを救い、追いやられた者を集め、彼らの恥を誉にかえ、全地にほめられるようにする。
Behold, I will deal [severely] with all that afflict thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, and her that was driven off will I gather; and I will render them a praise and a famous name on all the earth where they have been put to shame.
20 その時、わたしはあなたがたを連れかえる。わたしがあなたがたを集めるとき、わたしがあなたがたの目の前に、あなたがたの幸福を回復するとき、地のすべての民の中で、あなたがたに名を得させ、誉を得させる」と主は言われる。
At that time will I bring you back, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you for a name and for a praise among all people of the earth, when I bring back again your captives before your eyes, saith the Lord.
