詩篇 40
1 聖歌隊の指揮者によってうたわせたダビデの歌 わたしは耐え忍んで主を待ち望んだ。主は耳を傾けて、わたしの叫びを聞かれた。
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined to me, and heard my cry.
2 主はわたしを滅びの穴から、泥の沼から引きあげて、わたしの足を岩の上におき、わたしの歩みをたしかにされた。
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 主は新しい歌をわたしの口に授け、われらの神にささげるさんびの歌をわたしの口に授けられた。多くの人はこれを見て恐れ、かつ主に信頼するであろう。
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4 主をおのが頼みとする人、高ぶる者にたよらず、偽りの神に迷う者にたよらない人はさいわいである。
Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 わが神、主よ、あなたのくすしきみわざと、われらを思うみおもいとは多くて、くらべうるものはない。わたしはこれを語り述べようとしても多くて数えることはできない。
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order to thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 あなたはいけにえと供え物とを喜ばれない。あなたはわたしの耳を開かれた。あなたは燔祭と罪祭とを求められない。
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; my ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 その時わたしは言った、「見よ、わたしはまいります。書の巻に、わたしのためにしるされています。
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 わが神よ、わたしはみこころを行うことを喜びます。あなたのおきてはわたしの心のうちにあります」と。
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 わたしは大いなる集会で、救についての喜びのおとずれを告げ示しました。見よ、わたしはくちびるを閉じませんでした。主よ、あなたはこれをご存じです。
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not restrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
10 わたしはあなたの救を心のうちに隠しおかず、あなたのまことと救とを告げ示しました。わたしはあなたのいつくしみとまこととを大いなる集会に隠しませんでした。
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
11 主よ、あなたのあわれみをわたしに惜しまず、あなたのいつくしみとまこととをもって常にわたしをお守りください。
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 数えがたい災がわたしを囲み、わたしの不義がわたしに追い迫って、物見ることができないまでになりました。それはわたしの頭の毛よりも多く、わたしの心は消えうせるばかりになりました。
For innumerable evils have surrounded me: my iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 主よ、みこころならばわたしをお救いください。主よ、すみやかにわたしをお助けください。
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
14 わたしのいのちを奪おうと尋ね求める者どもをことごとく恥じあわてさせてください。わたしのそこなわれることを願う者どもをうしろに退かせ、恥を負わせてください。
Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 わたしにむかって「あはぁ、あはぁ」と言う者どもを自分の恥によって恐れおののかせてください。
Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say to me, Aha, aha.
16 しかし、すべてあなたを尋ね求める者はあなたによって喜び楽しむように。あなたの救を愛する者は常に「主は大いなるかな」ととなえるように。
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
17 わたしは貧しく、かつ乏しい。しかし主はわたしをかえりみられます。あなたはわが助け、わが救主です。わが神よ、ためらわないでください。
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no delay, O my God.
