民数記 31
1 さて主はモーセに言われた、
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 「ミデアンびとにイスラエルの人々のあだを報いなさい。その後、あなたはあなたの民に加えられるであろう」。
Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered to thy people.
3 モーセは民に言った、「あなたがたのうちから人を選んで戦いのために武装させ、ミデアンびとを攻めて、主のためミデアンびとに復讐しなさい。
And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves for the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD on Midian.
4 すなわちイスラエルのすべての部族から、部族ごとに千人ずつを戦いに送り出さなければならない」。
Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5 そこでイスラエルの部族のうちから部族ごとに千人ずつを選び、一万二千人を得て、戦いのために武装させた。
So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 モーセは各部族から千人ずつを戦いにつかわし、また祭司エレアザルの子ピネハスに、聖なる器と吹き鳴らすラッパとを執らせて、共に戦いにつかわした。
And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
7 彼らは主がモーセに命じられたようにミデアンびとと戦って、その男子をみな殺した。
And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
8 その殺した者のほかにまたミデアンの王五人を殺した。その名はエビ、レケム、ツル、フル、レバである。またベオルの子バラムをも、つるぎにかけて殺した。
And they slew the kings of Midian, besides the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9 またイスラエルの人々はミデアンの女たちとその子供たちを捕虜にし、その家畜と、羊の群れと、貨財とをことごとく奪い取り、
And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.
10 そのすまいのある町々と、その部落とを、ことごとく火で焼いた。
And they burnt all their cities in which they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
11 こうして彼らはすべて奪ったものと、かすめたものとは人をも家畜をも取り、
And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.
12 その生けどった者と、かすめたものと、奪ったものとを携えて、エリコに近いヨルダンのほとりのモアブの平野の宿営におるモーセと祭司エレアザルとイスラエルの人々の会衆のもとへもどってきた。
And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, to Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
13 ときにモーセと祭司エレアザルと会衆のつかさたちはみな宿営の外に出て迎えたが、
And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them outside the camp.
14 モーセは軍勢の将たち、すなわち戦場から帰ってきた千人の長たちと、百人の長たちに対して怒った。
And Moses was angry with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, who came from the battle.
15 モーセは彼らに言った、「あなたがたは女たちをみな生かしておいたのか。
And Moses said to them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
16 彼らはバラムのはかりごとによって、イスラエルの人々に、ペオルのことで主に罪を犯させ、ついに主の会衆のうちに疫病を起すに至った。
Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
17 それで今、この子供たちのうちの男の子をみな殺し、また男と寝て、男を知った女をみな殺しなさい。
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 ただし、まだ男と寝ず、男を知らない娘はすべてあなたがたのために生かしておきなさい。
But all the girls, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19 そしてあなたがたは七日のあいだ宿営の外にとどまりなさい。あなたがたのうちすべて人を殺した者、およびすべて殺された者に触れた者は、あなたがた自身も、あなたがたの捕虜も共に、三日目と七日目とに身を清めなければならない。
And do ye abide outside the camp seven days: whoever hath killed any person, and whoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
20 またすべての衣服と、すべての皮の器と、すべてやぎの毛で作ったものと、すべての木の器とを清めなければならない」。
And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.
21 祭司エレアザルは戦いに出たいくさびとたちに言った、「これは主がモーセに命じられた律法の定めである。
And Eleazar the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
22 金、銀、青銅、鉄、すず、鉛など、
Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23 すべて火に耐える物は火の中を通さなければならない。そうすれば清くなるであろう。なおその上、汚れを清める水で、清めなければならない。しかし、すべて火に耐えないものは水の中を通さなければならない。
Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.
24 あなたがたは七日目に衣服を洗わなければならない。そして清くなり、その後宿営にはいることができる」。
And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
25 主はモーセに言われた、
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
26 「あなたと祭司エレアザルおよび会衆の氏族のかしらたちは、その生けどった人と家畜の獲物の総数を調べ、
Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
27 その獲物を戦いに出た勇士と、全会衆とに折半しなさい。
And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
28 そして戦いに出たいくさびとに、人または牛、またはろば、または羊を、おのおの五百ごとに一つを取り、みつぎとして主にささげさせなさい。
And levy a tribute to the LORD of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the cattle, and of the donkeys, and of the sheep:
29 すなわち彼らが受ける半分のなかから、それを取り、主にささげる物として祭司エレアザルに渡しなさい。
Take it of their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.
30 またイスラエルの人々が受ける半分のなかから、その獲た人または牛、またはろば、または羊などの家畜を、おのおの五十ごとに一つを取り、主の幕屋の務をするレビびとに与えなさい」。
And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them to the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
31 モーセと祭司エレアザルとは主がモーセに命じられたとおりに行った。
And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32 そこでその獲物、すなわち、いくさびとたちが奪い取ったものの残りは羊六十七万五千、
And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had taken, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
33 牛七万二千、
And seventy and two thousand cattle,
34 ろば六万一千、
And sixty and one thousand donkeys,
35 人三万二千、これはみな男と寝ず、男を知らない女であった。
And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.
36 そしてその半分、すなわち戦いに出た者の分は羊三十三万七千五百、
And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
37 主にみつぎとした羊は六百七十五。
And the LORD’S tribute of the sheep was six hundred and seventy and five.
38 牛は三万六千、そのうちから主にみつぎとしたものは七十二。
And the cattle were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD’S tribute was seventy and two.
39 ろばは三万五百、そのうちから主にみつぎとしたものは六十一。
And the donkeys were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD’S tribute was sixty and one.
40 人は一万六千、そのうちから主にみつぎとしたものは三十二人であった。
And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD’S tribute was thirty and two persons.
41 モーセはそのみつぎを主にささげる物として祭司エレアザルに渡した。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。
And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’S heave offering, to Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
42 モーセが戦いに出た人々とは別にイスラエルの人々に与えた半分、
And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,
43 すなわち会衆の受けた半分は羊三十三万七千五百、
(Now the half that pertained to the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,
44 牛三万六千、
And thirty and six thousand cattle,
45 ろば三万五百、
And thirty thousand donkeys and five hundred,
46 人一万六千であって、
And sixteen thousand persons; )
47 モーセはイスラエルの人々の受けた半分のなかから、人および獣をおのおの五十ごとに一つを取って、主の幕屋の務をするレビびとに与えた。主がモーセに命じられたとおりである。
Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them to the Levites, who kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
48 時に軍勢の将であったものども、すなわち千人の長たちと百人の長たちとがモーセのところにきて、
And the officers who were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near to Moses:
49 モーセに言った、「しもべらは、指揮下のいくさびとを数えましたが、われわれのうち、ひとりも欠けた者はありませんでした。
And they said to Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
50 それで、われわれは、おのおの手に入れた金の飾り物、すなわち腕飾り、腕輪、指輪、耳輪、首飾りなどを主に携えてきて供え物とし、主の前にわれわれの命のあがないをしようと思います」。
We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath obtained, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
51 モーセと祭司エレアザルとは、彼らから細工を施した金の飾り物を受け取った。
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.
52 千人の長たちと百人の長たちとが、主にささげものとした金は合わせて一万六千七百五十シケル。
And all the gold of the offering that they offered to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
53 いくさびとは、おのおの自分のぶんどり物を獲た。
( For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)
54 モーセと祭司エレアザルとは、千人の長たちと百人の長たちとから、その金を受け取り、それを携えて会見の幕屋に入り、主の前に置いてイスラエルの人々のために記念とした。
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
