民数記 10

1 主はモーセに言われた、

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 「銀のラッパを二本つくりなさい。すなわち、打物造りとし、それで会衆を呼び集め、また宿営を進ませなさい。

Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.

3 この二つを吹くときは、全会衆が会見の幕屋の入口に、あなたの所に集まってこなければならない。

And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 もしその一つだけを吹くときは、イスラエルの氏族の長であるつかさたちが、あなたの所に集まってこなければならない。

And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, who are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall assemble themselves to thee.

5 またあなたがたが警報を吹き鳴らす時は、東の方の宿営が、道に進まなければならない。

When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.

6 二度目の警報を吹き鳴らす時は、南の方の宿営が、道に進まなければならない。すべて道に進む時は、警報を吹き鳴らさなければならない。

When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

7 また会衆を集める時にも、ラッパを吹き鳴らすが、警報は吹き鳴らしてはならない。

But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.

8 アロンの子である祭司たちが、ラッパを吹かなければならない。これはあなたがたが、代々ながく守るべき定めとしなければならない。

And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

9 また、あなたがたの国で、あなたがたをしえたげるあだとの戦いに出る時は、ラッパをもって、警報を吹き鳴らさなければならない。そうするならば、あなたがたは、あなたがたの神、主に覚えられて、あなたがたの敵から救われるであろう。

And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

10 また、あなたがたの喜びの日、あなたがたの祝いの時、および月々の第一日には、あなたがたの燔祭と酬恩祭の犠牲をささげるに当って、ラッパを吹き鳴らさなければならない。そうするならば、あなたがたの神は、それによって、あなたがたを覚えられるであろう。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である」。

Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.

11 第二年の二月二十日に、雲があかしの幕屋を離れてのぼったので、

And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 イスラエルの人々は、シナイの荒野を出て、その旅路に進んだが、パランの荒野に至って、雲はとどまった。

And the children of Israel took their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

13 こうして彼らは、主がモーセによって、命じられたところにしたがって、道に進むことを始めた。

And they first took their journey according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

14 先頭には、ユダの子たちの宿営の旗が、その部隊を従えて進んだ。ユダの部隊の長はアミナダブの子ナション、

In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

15 イッサカルの子たちの部族の部隊の長はツアルの子ネタニエル、

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar.

16 ゼブルンの子たちの部族の部隊の長はヘロンの子エリアブであった。

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

17 そして幕屋は取りくずされ、ゲルションの子たち、およびメラリの子たちは幕屋を運び進んだ。

And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari moved forward, bearing the tabernacle.

18 次にルベンの宿営の旗が、その部隊を従えて進んだ。ルベンの部隊の長はシデウルの子エリヅル、

And the standard of the camp of Reuben moved forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 シメオンの子たちの部族の部隊の長はツリシャダイの子シルミエル、

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 ガドの子たちの部族の部隊の長はデウエルの子エリアサフであった。

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

21 そしてコハテびとは聖なる物を運び進んだ。これが着くまでに、人々は幕屋を建て終るのである。

And the Kohathites moved forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the other set up the tabernacle for their coming.

22 次にエフライムの子たちの宿営の旗が、その部隊を従えて進んだ。エフライムの部隊の長はアミホデの子エリシャマ、

And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim moved forward according to their armies: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

23 マナセの子たちの部族の部隊の長はパダヅルの子ガマリエル、

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

24 ベニヤミンの子たちの部族の部隊の長はギデオニの子アビダンであった。

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

25 次にダンの子たちの宿営の旗が、その部隊を従えて進んだ。この部隊はすべての宿営のしんがりであった。ダンの部隊の長はアミシャダイの子アヒエゼル、

And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan moved forward, which was the rear guard of all the camps throughout their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

26 アセルの子たちの部族の部隊の長はオクランの子パギエル、

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

27 ナフタリの子たちの部族の部隊の長はエナンの子アヒラであった。

And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

28 イスラエルの人々が、その道に進む時は、このように、その部隊に従って進んだ。

Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they moved forward.

29 さて、モーセは、妻の父、ミデヤンびとリウエルの子ホバブに言った、「わたしたちは、かつて主がおまえたちに与えると約束された所に向かって進んでいます。あなたも一緒においでください。あなたが幸福になられるようにいたしましょう。主がイスラエルに幸福を約束されたのですから」。

And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying to the place of which the LORD said, I will give it to you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.

30 彼はモーセに言った、「わたしは行きません。わたしは国に帰って、親族のもとに行きます」。

And he said to him, I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my kindred.

31 モーセはまた言った、「どうかわたしたちを見捨てないでください。あなたは、わたしたちが荒野のどこに宿営すべきかを御存じですから、わたしたちの目となってください。

And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes.

32 もしあなたが一緒においでくださるなら、主がわたしたちに賜わる幸福をあなたにも及ぼしましょう」。

And it shall be, if thou wilt go with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness the LORD shall do to us, the same will we do to thee.

33 こうして彼らは主の山を去って、三日の行程を進んだ。主の契約の箱は、その三日の行程の間、彼らに先立って行き、彼らのために休む所を尋ねもとめた。

And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to seek a resting place for them.

34 彼らが宿営を出て、道に進むとき、昼は主の雲が彼らの上にあった。

And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 契約の箱の進むときモーセは言った、「主よ、立ちあがってください。あなたの敵は打ち散らされ、あなたを憎む者どもは、あなたの前から逃げ去りますように」。

And it came to pass, when the ark moved forward, that Moses said, Arise, LORD, and let thy enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36 またそのとどまるとき、彼は言った、「主よ、帰ってきてください、イスラエルのちよろずの人に」。

And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, to the many thousands of Israel.
