ミカ書 5

1 今あなたは壁でとりまかれている。敵はわれわれを攻め囲み、 つえをもってイスラエルのつかさのほおを撃つ。

Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

2 しかしベツレヘム・エフラタよ、あなたはユダの氏族のうちで小さい者だが、イスラエルを治める者があなたのうちからわたしのために出る。その出るのは昔から、いにしえの日からである。

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou art little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3 それゆえ、産婦の産みおとす時まで、主は彼らを渡しおかれる。その後その兄弟たちの残れる者はイスラエルの子らのもとに帰る。

Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel.

4 彼は主の力により、その神、主の名の威光により、立ってその群れを養い、彼らを安らかにおらせる。今、彼は大いなる者となって、地の果にまで及ぶからである。

And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great to the ends of the earth.

5 これは平和である。アッスリヤびとがわれわれの国に来て、われわれの土地を踏むとき、七人の牧者を起し、八人の君を起してこれに当らせる。

And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

6 彼らはつるぎをもってアッスリヤの地を治め、ぬきみのつるぎをもってニムロデの地を治める。アッスリヤびとがわれわれの地に来て、われわれの境を踏み荒すとき、彼らはアッスリヤびとから、われわれを救う。

And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its entrances: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

7 その時ヤコブの残れる者は多くの民の中にあること、人によらず、また人の子らを待たずに主からくだる露のごとく、青草の上に降る夕立ちのようである。

And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men.

8 またヤコブの残れる者が国々の中におり、多くの民の中にいること、林の獣の中のししのごとく、羊の群れの中の若いししのようである。それが過ぎるときは踏み、かつ裂いて救う者はない。

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he goeth through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.

9 あなたの手はもろもろのあだの上にあげられ、あなたの敵はことごとく断たれる。

Thy hand shall be lifted up upon thy adversaries, and all thy enemies shall be cut off.

10 主は言われる、その日には、わたしはあなたのうちから馬を絶やし、戦車をこわし、

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots:

11 あなたの国の町々を絶やし、あなたの城をことごとくくつがえす。

And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy strong holds:

12 またあなたの手から魔術を絶やす。あなたのうちには占い師がないようになる。

And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:

13 またあなたのうちから彫像および石の柱を絶やす。あなたは重ねて手で作った物を拝むことはない。

Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thy hands.

14 またあなたのうちからアシラ像を抜き倒し、あなたの町々を滅ぼす。

And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee: so will I destroy thy cities.

15 そしてわたしは怒りと憤りとをもってその聞き従わないもろもろの国民に復讐する。

And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
