ルカの福音書 22
1 さて、過越といわれている除酵祭が近づいた。
The Feast of the Unleavened Bread, known as the Passover, was near.
2 祭司長たちや律法学者たちは、どうかしてイエスを殺そうと計っていた。民衆を恐れていたからである。
The Chief Priest and the Teachers of the Law were looking for an opportunity of destroying Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.
3 そのとき、十二弟子のひとりで、イスカリオテと呼ばれていたユダに、サタンがはいった。
Now Satan took possession of Judas, who was known as Iscariot, and who belonged to the Twelve;
4 すなわち、彼は祭司長たちや宮守がしらたちのところへ行って、どうしてイエスを彼らに渡そうかと、その方法について協議した。
and he went and discussed with the Chief Priests and Officers in charge at the Temple the best way of betraying Jesus to them.
5 彼らは喜んで、ユダに金を与える取決めをした。
They were glad of this, and agreed to pay him.
6 ユダはそれを承諾した。そして、群衆のいないときにイエスを引き渡そうと、機会をねらっていた。
So Judas assented, and looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them, in the absence of a crowd.
7 さて、過越の小羊をほふるべき除酵祭の日がきたので、
When the day of the Festival of the Unleavened Bread came, on which the Passover lambs had to be killed,
8 イエスはペテロとヨハネとを使いに出して言われた、「行って、過越の食事ができるように準備をしなさい」。
Jesus sent forward Peter and John, saying to them: “Go and make preparations for our eating the Passover.”
9 彼らは言った、「どこに準備をしたらよいのですか」。
“Where do you wish us to make preparations?” they asked.
10 イエスは言われた、「市内にはいったら、水がめを持っている男に出会うであろう。その人がはいる家までついて行って、
“Listen,” he answered, “when you have got into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you; follow him into whatever house he enters;
11 その家の主人に言いなさい、『弟子たちと一緒に過越の食事をする座敷はどこか、と先生が言っておられます』。
and you shall say to the owner of the house ‘The Teacher says to you — Where is the room where I am to eat the Passover with my disciples?’
12 すると、その主人は席の整えられた二階の広間を見せてくれるから、そこに用意をしなさい」。
The man will show you a large upstairs room, set out; there make preparations.”
13 弟子たちは出て行ってみると、イエスが言われたとおりであったので、過越の食事の用意をした。
So Peter and John went on, and found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
14 時間になったので、イエスは食卓につかれ、使徒たちも共に席についた。
When the time came, Jesus took his place at table, and the Apostles with him.
15 イエスは彼らに言われた、「わたしは苦しみを受ける前に、あなたがたとこの過越の食事をしようと、切に望んでいた。
“I have most earnestly wished,” he said, “to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
16 あなたがたに言って置くが、神の国で過越が成就する時までは、わたしは二度と、この過越の食事をすることはない」。
For I tell you that I shall not eat it again, until it has had its fulfilment in the Kingdom of God.”
17 そして杯を取り、感謝して言われた、「これを取って、互に分けて飲め。
Then, on receiving a cup, after saying the thanksgiving, he said:
18 あなたがたに言っておくが、今からのち神の国が来るまでは、わたしはぶどうの実から造ったものを、いっさい飲まない」。
“Take this and share it among you. For I tell you that I shall not, after to-day, drink of the juice of the grape, till the Kingdom of God has come.”
19 またパンを取り、感謝してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、「これは、あなたがたのために与えるわたしのからだである。わたしを記念するため、このように行いなさい」。
Then Jesus took some bread, and, after saying the thanksgiving, broke it and gave to them, with the words: “This is my body, [which is now to be given on your behalf. Do this in memory of me.”]
20 食事ののち、杯も同じ様にして言われた、「この杯は、あなたがたのために流すわたしの血で立てられる新しい契約である。
[And in the same way with the cup, after supper, saying: “This cup is the New Covenant made by my blood which is being poured out on your behalf. ]
21 しかし、そこに、わたしを裏切る者が、わたしと一緒に食卓に手を置いている。
Yet see! the hand of the man that is betraying me is beside me upon the table!
22 人の子は定められたとおりに、去って行く。しかし人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである」。
True, the Son of Man is passing, by the way ordained for him, yet alas for that man by whom he is being betrayed!”
23 弟子たちは、自分たちのうちのだれが、そんな事をしようとしているのだろうと、互に論じはじめた。
Then they began questioning one another which of them it could be that was going to do this.
24 それから、自分たちの中でだれがいちばん偉いだろうかと言って、争論が彼らの間に、起った。
And a dispute arose among them as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.
25 そこでイエスが言われた、「異邦の王たちはその民の上に君臨し、また、権力をふるっている者たちは恩人と呼ばれる。
Jesus, however, said: “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their oppressors are styled ‘Benefactors.’
26 しかし、あなたがたは、そうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの中でいちばん偉い人はいちばん若い者のように、指導する人は仕える者のようになるべきである。
But with you it must not be so. No, let the greatest among you become like the youngest, and him who leads like him who serves.
27 食卓につく人と給仕する者と、どちらが偉いのか。食卓につく人の方ではないか。しかし、わたしはあなたがたの中で、給仕をする者のようにしている。
Which is the greater — the master at the table or his servant? Is not it the master at the table? Yet I myself am among you as one who serves.
28 あなたがたは、わたしの試錬のあいだ、わたしと一緒に最後まで忍んでくれた人たちである。
You are the men who have stood by me in my trials;
29 それで、わたしの父が国の支配をわたしにゆだねてくださったように、わたしもそれをあなたがたにゆだね、
and, just as my Father has assigned me a Kingdom, I assign you places,
30 わたしの国で食卓について飲み食いをさせ、また位に座してイスラエルの十二の部族をさばかせるであろう。
so that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom, and be seated upon twelve thrones as judges of the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 シモン、シモン、見よ、サタンはあなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って許された。
Simon! Simon! listen. Satan demanded leave to sift you all like wheat,
32 しかし、わたしはあなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈った。それで、あなたが立ち直ったときには、兄弟たちを力づけてやりなさい」。
but I prayed for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. And you, when you have returned to me, are to strengthen your Brothers.”
33 シモンが言った、「主よ、わたしは獄にでも、また死に至るまでも、あなたとご一緒に行く覚悟です」。
“Master,” said Peter, “with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death.”
34 するとイエスが言われた、「ペテロよ、あなたに言っておく。きょう、鶏が鳴くまでに、あなたは三度わたしを知らないと言うだろう」。
“I tell you, Peter,” replied Jesus, “the cock will not crow to-day till you have disowned all knowledge of me three times.”
35 そして彼らに言われた、「わたしが財布も袋もくつも持たせずにあなたがたをつかわしたとき、何かこまったことがあったか」。彼らは、「いいえ、何もありませんでした」と答えた。
Then he said to them all: “When I sent you out as my Messengers, without either purse, or bag, or sandals, were you in need of anything?” “No; nothing,” they answered.
36 そこで言われた、「しかし今は、財布のあるものは、それを持って行け。袋も同様に持って行け。また、つるぎのない者は、自分の上着を売って、それを買うがよい。
“Now, however,” he said, “he who has a purse must take it and his bag as well; and he who has not must sell his cloak and buy a sword.
37 あなたがたに言うが、『彼は罪人のひとりに数えられた』としるしてあることは、わたしの身に成しとげられねばならない。そうだ、わたしに係わることは成就している」。
For, I tell you, that passage of Scripture must be fulfilled in me, which says — ‘He was counted among the godless’; indeed all that refers to me is finding its fulfilment.”
38 弟子たちが言った、「主よ、ごらんなさい、ここにつるぎが二振りございます」。イエスは言われた、「それでよい」。
“Master,” they exclaimed, “look, here are two swords!” “Enough!” said Jesus.
39 イエスは出て、いつものようにオリブ山に行かれると、弟子たちも従って行った。
Jesus then went out, and made his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, followed by his disciples.
40 いつもの場所に着いてから、彼らに言われた、「誘惑に陥らないように祈りなさい」。
And, when he reached the spot, he said to them: “Pray that you may not fall into temptation.”
41 そしてご自分は、石を投げてとどくほど離れたところへ退き、ひざまずいて、祈って言われた、
Then he withdrew about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and began to pray.
42 「父よ、みこころならば、どうぞ、この杯をわたしから取りのけてください。しかし、わたしの思いではなく、みこころが成るようにしてください」。
“Father,” he said, “if it is thy pleasure, spare me this cup; only, not my will but thine be done.”
43 そのとき、御使が天からあらわれてイエスを力づけた。
Presently there appeared to him an angel from Heaven, who strengthened him.
44 イエスは苦しみもだえて、ますます切に祈られた。そして、その汗が血のしたたりのように地に落ちた。
And, as his anguish became intense, he prayed still more earnestly, while his sweat was like great drops of blood falling on the ground.
45 祈を終えて立ちあがり、弟子たちのところへ行かれると、彼らが悲しみのはて寝入っているのをごらんになって
Then he rose from praying, and came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow.
46 言われた、「なぜ眠っているのか。誘惑に陥らないように、起きて祈っていなさい」。
“Why are you asleep?” he asked them. “Rise and pray, that you may not fall into temptation.”
47 イエスがまだそう言っておられるうちに、そこに群衆が現れ、十二弟子のひとりでユダという者が先頭に立って、イエスに接吻しようとして近づいてきた。
While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared in sight, led by the man called Judas, who was one of the Twelve. Judas approached Jesus, to kiss him;
48 そこでイエスは言われた、「ユダ、あなたは接吻をもって人の子を裏切るのか」。
on which Jesus said to him: “Judas, is it by a kiss that you betray the Son of Man?”
49 イエスのそばにいた人たちは、事のなりゆきを見て、「主よ、つるぎで切りつけてやりましょうか」と言って、
But when those who were round Jesus saw what was going to happen, they exclaimed: “Master, shall we use our swords?”
50 そのうちのひとりが、祭司長の僕に切りつけ、その右の耳を切り落した。
And one of them struck the High Priest’s servant and cut off his right ear;
51 イエスはこれに対して言われた、「それだけでやめなさい」。そして、その僕の耳に手を触て、おいやしになった。
on which Jesus said: “Let me at least do this”; and, touching his ear, he healed the wound.
52 それから、自分にむかって来る祭司長、宮守がしら、長老たちに対して言われた、「あなたがたは、強盗にむかうように剣や棒を持って出てきたのか。
Then, turning to the Chief Priests and Officers in charge at the Temple and Councillors, who had come for him, he said: “Have you come out, as if after a robber, with swords and clubs?
53 毎日あなたがたと一緒に宮にいた時には、わたしに手をかけなかった。だが、今はあなたがたの時、また、やみの支配の時である」。
When I was with you day after day in the Temple Courts, you did not lay hands on me; but now your time has come, and the power of Darkness.”
54 それから人々はイエスを捕え、ひっぱって大祭司の邸宅へつれて行った。ペテロは遠くからついて行った。
Those who had taken Jesus prisoner took him away into the house of the High Priest. Peter followed at a distance.
55 人々は中庭のまん中に火をたいて、一緒にすわっていたので、ペテロもその中にすわった。
But, when they had lit a fire in the centre of the court-yard and had all sat down there, Peter seated himself in the middle of them.
56 すると、ある女中が、彼が火のそばにすわっているのを見、彼を見つめて、「この人もイエスと一緒にいました」と言った。
Presently a maidservant saw him sitting near the blaze of the fire. Fixing her eyes on him, she said: “Why, this man was one of his companions!”
57 ペテロはそれを打ち消して、「わたしはその人を知らない」と言った。
But Peter denied it. “I do not know him,” he replied.
58 しばらくして、ほかの人がペテロを見て言った、「あなたもあの仲間のひとりだ」。するとペテロは言った、「いや、それはちがう」。
A little while afterwards some one else — a man — saw him and said: “Why, you are one of them!” “No,” Peter said, “I am not.”
59 約一時間たってから、またほかの者が言い張った、「たしかにこの人もイエスと一緒だった。この人もガリラヤ人なのだから」。
About an hour later another man declared positively: “This man also was certainly with him. Why, he is a Galilean!”
60 ペテロは言った、「あなたの言っていることは、わたしにわからない」。すると、彼がまだ言い終らぬうちに、たちまち、鶏が鳴いた。
But Peter said: “I do not know what you are speaking about.” Instantly, while he was still speaking, a cock crowed.
61 主は振りむいてペテロを見つめられた。そのときペテロは、「きょう、鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう」と言われた主のお言葉を思い出した。
And the Master turned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the words that the Master had said to him — “Before a cock has crowed to-day, you will disown me three times”;
62 そして外へ出て、激しく泣いた。
and he went outside and wept bitterly.
63 イエスを監視していた人たちは、イエスを嘲弄し、打ちたたき、
The men that held Jesus kept making sport of him and beating him.
64 目かくしをして、「言いあててみよ。打ったのは、だれか」ときいたりした。
They blindfolded him and then questioned him. “Now play the Prophet,” they said; “who was it that struck you?”
65 そのほか、いろいろな事を言って、イエスを愚弄した。
And they heaped many other insults on him.
66 夜が明けたとき、人民の長老、祭司長たち、律法学者たちが集まり、イエスを議会に引き出して言った、
At daybreak the National Council met — both the Chief Priests and the Teachers of the Law — and took Jesus before their High Council.
67 「あなたがキリストなら、そう言ってもらいたい」。イエスは言われた、「わたしが言っても、あなたがたは信じないだろう。
“If you are the Christ,” they said, “tell us so.” “If I tell you,” replied Jesus, “you will not believe me;
68 また、わたしがたずねても、答えないだろう。
and, if I question you, you will not answer.
69 しかし、人の子は今からのち、全能の神の右に座するであろう」。
But from this hour ‘the Son of Man will be seated on the right hand of God Almighty.’”
70 彼らは言った、「では、あなたは神の子なのか」。イエスは言われた、「あなたがたの言うとおりである」。
“Are you, then, the Son of God?” they all asked. “It is true,” answered Jesus, “I am.”
71 すると彼らは言った、「これ以上、なんの証拠がいるか。われわれは直接彼の口から聞いたのだから」。
At this they exclaimed: “Why do we want any more evidence? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”
