哀歌 3
1 わたしは彼の怒りのむちによって、悩みにあった人である。
ALEPH. I am the man that sees poverty, through the rod of his wrath upon me.
2 彼はわたしをかり立てて、光のない暗い中を歩かせ、
He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, and not [into] light.
3 まことにその手をしばしばかえて、ひねもすわたしを攻められた。
Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day.
4 彼はわが肉と皮を衰えさせ、わが骨を砕き、
He has made old my flesh and my skin; he has broken my bones.
5 苦しみと悩みをもって、わたしを囲み、わたしを閉じこめ、
BETH. He has built against me, and compassed my head, and brought travail [upon me].
6 遠い昔に死んだ者のように、暗い所に住まわせられた。
He has set me in dark places, as them that have long been dead.
7 彼はわたしのまわりに、かきをめぐらして、出ることのできないようにし、重い鎖でわたしをつながれた。
He has builded against me, and I can’t come forth: he has made my brazen [chain] heavy.
8 わたしは叫んで助けを求めたが、彼はわたしの祈をしりぞけ、
GIMEL. Yes, [though] I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
9 切り石をもって、わたしの行く道をふさぎ、わたしの道筋を曲げられた。
DALETH. He has built up my ways, he has hedged my paths;
10 彼はわたしに対して待ち伏せするくまのように、潜み隠れるししのように、
he has troubled me, [as] a she-bear lying in wait: he is to me [as] a lion in secret places.
11 わが道を離れさせ、わたしを引き裂いて、見るかげもないみじめな者とし、
He pursued [me] after I departed, and brought me to a stand: he has utterly ruined me.
12 その弓を張って、わたしを矢の的のようにされた。
HE. He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
13 彼はその箙の矢をわたしの心臓に打ち込まれた。
He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
14 わたしはすべての民の物笑いとなり、ひねもす彼らの歌となった。
I became a laughing stock to all my people; and their song all the day.
15 彼はわたしを苦い物で飽かせ、にがよもぎをわたしに飲ませられた。
VAU. He has filled me with bitterness, he has drenched me with gall.
16 彼は小石をもって、わたしの歯を砕き、灰の中にわたしをころがされた。
And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, he has fed me with ashes.
17 わが魂は平和を失い、わたしは幸福を忘れた。
He has also removed my soul from peace: I forgot prosperity.
18 そこでわたしは言った、「わが栄えはうせ去り、わたしが主に望むところのものもうせ去った」と。
Therefore my success has perished, and my hope from the Lord.
19 どうか、わが悩みと苦しみ、にがよもぎと胆汁とを心に留めてください。
ZAIN. I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered;
20 わが魂は絶えずこれを思って、わがうちにうなだれる。
and my soul shall meditate with me.
21 しかし、わたしはこの事を心に思い起す。それゆえ、わたしは望みをいだく。
This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure.
22 主のいつくしみは絶えることがなく、そのあわれみは尽きることがない。
HETH. [It is] the mercies of the Lord, that he has not failed me, because his compassions are not exhausted. Pity [us], O Lord, early [every] month: for we are not brought to an end, because his compassions are not exhausted.
23 これは朝ごとに新しく、あなたの真実は大きい。
[They are] new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
24 わが魂は言う、「主はわたしの受くべき分である、それゆえ、わたしは彼を待ち望む」と。
The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I wait for him.
25 主はおのれを待ち望む者と、おのれを尋ね求める者にむかって恵みふかい。
TETH. The Lord is good to them that wait for him: the soul which shall seek him
26 主の救を静かに待ち望むことは、良いことである。
[is] good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation of the Lord.
27 人が若い時にくびきを負うことは、良いことである。
TETH. [It is] good for a man when he bears a yoke in his youth.
28 主がこれを負わせられるとき、ひとりすわって黙しているがよい。
He will sit alone, and be silent, because he has borne [it] upon him.
29 口をちりにつけよ、あるいはなお望みがあるであろう。
30 おのれを撃つ者にほおを向け、満ち足りるまでに、はずかしめを受けよ。
JOD. He will give [his] cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.
31 主はとこしえにこのような人を捨てられないからである。
For the Lord will not reject for ever.
32 彼は悩みを与えられるが、そのいつくしみが豊かなので、またあわれみをたれられる。
CHAPH. For he that has brought down will pity, and [that] according to the abundance of his mercy.
33 彼は心から人の子を苦しめ悩ますことをされないからである。
He has not answered [in anger] from his heart, though he has brought low the children of a man.
34 地のすべての捕われ人を足の下に踏みにじり、
LAMED. To bring down under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
35 いと高き者の前に人の公義をまげ、
to turn aside the judgment of a man before the face of the Most High,
36 人の訴えをくつがえすことは、主のよみせられないことである。
to condemn a man [unjustly] in his judgment, the Lord has not given commandment.
37 主が命じられたのでなければ、だれが命じて、その事の成ったことがあるか。
Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? the Lord has not commanded it.
38 災もさいわいも、いと高き者の口から出るではないか。
Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.
39 生ける人はどうしてつぶやかねばならないのか、人は自分の罪の罰せられるのを、つぶやくことができようか。
MEM. Why should a living man complain, a man concerning his sin?
40 われわれは、自分の行いを調べ、かつ省みて、主に帰ろう。
NUN. Our way has been searched out and examined, and we will turn to the Lord.
41 われわれは天にいます神にむかって、手と共に心をもあげよう。
Let us lift up our hearts with [our] hand to the lofty One in heaven.
42 「わたしたちは罪を犯し、そむきました、あなたはおゆるしになりませんでした。
We have sinned, we have transgressed; and you have not pardoned.
43 あなたは怒りをもってご自分をおおい、わたしたちを追い攻め、殺して、あわれまず、
SAMECH. You has visited [us] in wrath, and driven us away: you has slain, you has not pitied.
44 また雲をもってご自分をおおい、祈を通じないようにし、
You have veiled yourself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind,
45 もろもろの民の中に、わたしたちをちりあくたとなさいました。
and be cast off. AIN. You have set us [alone] in the midst of the nations.
46 敵はみなわたしたちをののしり、
All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
47 恐れと落し穴と、荒廃と滅亡とが、わたしたちに臨みました。
Fear and wrath are come upon us, suspense and destruction.
48 わが民の娘の滅びによって、わたしの目には涙の川が流れています。
Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 わが目は絶えず涙を注ぎ出して、やむことなく、
PHE. Mine eye is drowned [with tears], and I will not be silent, so that there shall be no rest,
50 主が天から見おろして、顧みられる時にまで及ぶでしょう。
until the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
51 わが目はわが町のすべての娘の最期のゆえに、わたしを痛ませます。
Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, because of all the daughters of the city.
52 ゆえなくわたしに敵する者どもによって、わたしは鳥のように追われました。
TSADE. The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, all mine enemies destroyed my life in a pit without cause,
53 彼らは生きているわたしを穴の中に投げ入れ、わたしの上に石を投げつけました。
and laid a stone upon me.
54 水はわたしの頭の上にあふれ、わたしは『断ち滅ぼされた』と言いました。
Water flowed over my head: I said, I am cut off.
55 主よ、わたしは深い穴からみ名を呼びました。
KOPH. I called upon your name, O Lord, out of the lowest dungeon.
56 あなたはわが声を聞かれました、『わが嘆きと叫びに耳をふさがないでください』。
You heard my voice: close not your ears to my supplication.
57 わたしがあなたに呼ばわったとき、あなたは近寄って、『恐れるな』と言われました。
You drew near to my help: in the day wherein I called upon you you said to me, Fear not.
58 主よ、あなたはわが訴えを取りあげて、わたしの命をあがなわれました。
RECHS. O Lord, you has pleaded the causes of my soul; you has redeemed my life.
59 主よ、あなたはわたしがこうむった不義をごらんになりました。わたしの訴えをおさばきください。
You have seen, O Lord, my troubles: you have judged my cause.
60 あなたはわたしに対する彼らの報復と、陰謀とを、ことごとくごらんになりました。
You have seen all their vengeance, [you have looked] on all their devices against me.
61 主よ、あなたはわたしに対する彼らのそしりと、陰謀とを、ことごとく聞かれました。
CHSEN. You have heard their reproach [and] all their devices against me;
62 立ってわたしに逆らう者どものくちびると、その思いは、ひねもすわたしを攻めています。
the lips of them that rose up against me, and their plots against me all the day;
63 どうか、彼らのすわるをも、立つをも、みそなわしてください。わたしは彼らの歌となっています。
their sitting down and their rising up: look you upon their eyes.
64 主よ、彼らの手のわざにしたがって、彼らに報い、
You will render them a recompense, O Lord, according to the works of their hands.
65 彼らの心をかたくなにし、あなたののろいを彼らに注いでください。
THAU. You will give them [as] a covering, the grief of my heart.
66 主よ、怒りをもって彼らを追い、天が下から彼らを滅ぼしてください」。
You will persecute them in anger, and will consume them from under the heaven, O Lord.
