ホセア書 9
1 イスラエルよ、もろもろの民のように喜びおどるな。あなたは淫行をなして、あなたの神を離れ、すべての穀物の打ち場で受ける淫行の価を愛した。
Do not rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.
2 打ち場と酒ぶねとは彼らを養わない。また新しい酒もむなしくなる。
The threshing floor and the winepress won't feed them, and the new wine will fail her.
3 彼らは主の地に住むことなく、エフライムはエジプトに帰り、アッスリヤで汚れた物を食べる。
They won't dwell in the LORD's land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.
4 彼らは主に向かって酒を注がず、また犠牲をもって主を喜ばせず、彼らのパンは喪におる者のパンのようで、すべてこれを食べる者は汚される。彼らのパンはただ自分の飢えを満たすためで、主の家に、はいることはできない。
They won't pour out wine offerings to the LORD, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into the house of the LORD.
5 あなたがたは祝の日と、主の祭の日に、何をしようとするのか。
What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
6 見よ、彼らはアッスリヤへ行く。エジプトは彼らを集め、メンピスは彼らを葬る。あざみは彼らの銀の宝物を所有し、いばらは彼らの天幕にはびこる。
For, look, they have gone away from destruction. Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.
7 刑罰の日は来た。報いの日は来た。イスラエルはこれを知る。預言者は愚かな者、霊に感じた人は狂った者だ。これはあなたがたの不義が多く、恨みが大きいためである。
The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Let Israel know. The prophet is a fool, and the man of the spirit is mad, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
8 預言者はわが神の民エフライムの見張人である。しかし預言者のすべての道には鳥をとる者のわながあり、恨みはその神の家にある。
A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler's snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.
9 彼らはギベアの日のように、深くおのれを腐らせた。主はその不義を覚え、その罪を罰せられる。
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.
10 わたしはイスラエルを荒野のぶどうのように見、あなたがたの先祖たちを、いちじくの木の初めに結んだ初なりのように見た。ところが彼らはバアル・ペオルへ行き、身をバアルにゆだね、彼らが愛した物と同じように憎むべき者となった。
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.
11 エフライムの栄光は、鳥のようにとび去る。すなわち産むことも、はらむことも、みごもることもなくなる。
As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, none with child, and no conception.
12 たとい彼らが子を育てても、わたしはその子を奪って、残る者のないようにする。わたしが彼らを離れるとき、彼らはわざわいだ。
Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them.
13 わたしが見たように、エフライムの子らはえじきに定められた。エフライムはその子らを、人を殺す者に渡さなければならない。
I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.
14 主よ、彼らに与えてください。あなたは何を与えられますか。流産の胎と、かわいた乳ぶさを彼らに与えてください。
Give them—LORD what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
15 彼らのすべての悪はギルガルにある。わたしはかしこで彼らを憎んだ。彼らのおこないの悪しきがゆえに、彼らをわが家から追いだし、重ねて愛することをしない。その君たちはみな、反逆者である。
"All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no more. All their rulers are rebels.
16 エフライムは撃たれ、その根は枯れて、実を結ばない。たとい彼らが子を産んでも、わたしはそのいつくしむ子らを殺す。
Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they bring forth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb."
17 彼らは聞き従わないので、わが神はこれを捨てられる。彼らはもろもろの国民のうちに、さすらい人となる。
My God will cast them away, because they did not listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
