ホセア書 13
1 エフライムが物言えば、人々はおののいた。彼はイスラエルの中に自分を高くした。しかし彼はバアルによって罪を犯して死んだ。
When Ephraim spoke trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
2 そして彼らは今もなおますます罪を犯し、その銀をもって自分のために像を鋳、巧みに偶像を造る。これは皆工人のわざである。彼らは言う、これに犠牲をささげよ、人々は子牛に口づけせよと。
And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
3 それゆえ彼らは朝の霧のように、すみやかに消えうせる露のように、打ち場から風に吹き去られるもみがらのように、また窓から出て行く煙のようになる。
Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind from the floor, and as the smoke from the chimney.
4 わたしはエジプトの国を出てからこのかた、あなたの神、主である。あなたはわたしのほかに神を知らない。わたしのほかに救う者はない。
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no God but me: for there is no saviour besides me.
5 わたしは荒野で、またかわいた地で、あなたを知った。
I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6 しかし彼らは食べて飽き、飽きて、その心が高ぶり、わたしを忘れた。
According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
7 それゆえ、わたしは彼らに向かって、ししのようになり、ひょうのように道のかたわらに潜んでうかがう。
Therefore I will be to them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
8 わたしは子を取られた熊のように彼らに出会って、その胸をかきさき、その所で、ししのようにこれを食い尽し、野の獣のようにこれをかき破る。
I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the fat of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
9 イスラエルよ、わたしはあなたを滅ぼす。だれがあなたを助けることができよう。
O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thy help.
10 あなたを助けるあなたの王は今、どこにいるのか。あなたがかつて「わたしに王と君たちとを与えよ」と言ったあなたを保護すべき、すべてのつかさたちは今、どこにいるのか。
I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
11 わたしは怒りをもってあなたに王を与えた、また憤りをもってこれを奪い取った。
I gave thee a king in my anger, and took him away in my wrath.
12 エフライムの不義は包みおかれ、その罪は積みたくわえられてある。
The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13 子を産む女の苦しみが彼に臨む。彼は知恵のない子である。生れる時が来ても彼は産門にあらわれない。
The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14 わたしは彼らを陰府の力から、あがなうことがあろうか。彼らを死から、あがなうことがあろうか。死よ、おまえの災はどこにあるのか。陰府よ、おまえの滅びはどこにあるのか。あわれみは、わたしの目から隠されている。 (Sheol h7585)
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from my eyes. (Sheol h7585)
15 たとい彼は葦のように栄えても、東風が吹いて来る。主の風が荒野から吹き起る。これがためにその源はかれ、その泉はかわく。それはすべての尊い物の宝庫をかすめ奪う。
Though he is fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall plunder the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16 サマリヤはその神にそむいたので、その罪を負い、つるぎに倒れ、その幼な子は投げ砕かれ、そのはらめる女は引き裂かれる。
Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
