創世記 41
1 二年の後パロは夢を見た。夢に、彼はナイル川のほとりに立っていた。
And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
2 すると、その川から美しい、肥え太った七頭の雌牛が上がってきて葦を食っていた。
And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured cows and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.
3 その後、また醜い、やせ細った他の七頭の雌牛が川から上がってきて、川の岸にいた雌牛のそばに立ち、
And, behold, seven other cows came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other cows upon the brink of the river.
4 その醜い、やせ細った雌牛が、あの美しい、肥えた七頭の雌牛を食いつくした。ここでパロは目が覚めた。
And the ill favoured and leanfleshed cows ate up the seven well favoured and fat cows. So Pharaoh awoke.
5 彼はまた眠って、再び夢を見た。夢に、一本の茎に太った良い七つの穂が出てきた。
And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of grain came up upon one stalk, fat and good.
6 その後また、やせて、東風に焼けた七つの穂が出てきて、
And, behold, seven thin ears and parched with the east wind sprung up after them.
7 そのやせた穂が、あの太って実った七つの穂をのみつくした。ここでパロは目が覚めたが、それは夢であった。
And the seven thin ears devoured the seven fat and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.
8 朝になって、パロは心が騒ぎ、人をつかわして、エジプトのすべての魔術師とすべての知者とを呼び寄せ、彼らに夢を告げたが、これをパロに解き明かしうる者がなかった。
And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all its wise men: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them to Pharaoh.
9 そのとき給仕役の長はパロに告げて言った、「わたしはきょう、自分のあやまちを思い出しました。
Then spoke the chief butler to Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:
10 かつてパロがしもべらに向かって憤り、わたしと料理役の長とを侍衛長の家の監禁所にお入れになった時、
Pharaoh was furious with his servants, and put me in custody in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker:
11 わたしも彼も一夜のうちに夢を見、それぞれ意味のある夢を見ましたが、
And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.
12 そこに侍衛長のしもべで、ひとりの若いヘブルびとがわれわれと共にいたので、彼に話したところ、彼はわれわれの夢を解き明かし、その夢によって、それぞれ解き明かしをしました。
And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he interpreted.
13 そして彼が解き明かしたとおりになって、パロはわたしを職に返し、彼を木に掛けられました」。
And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored to my office, and him he hanged.
14 そこでパロは人をつかわしてヨセフを呼んだ。人々は急いで彼を地下の獄屋から出した。ヨセフは、ひげをそり、着物を着替えてパロのもとに行った。
Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came before Pharaoh.
15 パロはヨセフに言った、「わたしは夢を見たが、これを解き明かす者がない。聞くところによると、あなたは夢を聞いて、解き明かしができるそうだ」。
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard it said of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.
16 ヨセフはパロに答えて言った、「いいえ、わたしではありません。神がパロに平安をお告げになりましょう」。
And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
17 パロはヨセフに言った、「夢にわたしは川の岸に立っていた。
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:
18 その川から肥え太った、美しい七頭の雌牛が上がってきて葦を食っていた。
And, behold, there came out of the river seven cows, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow:
19 その後、弱く、非常に醜い、やせ細った他の七頭の雌牛がまた上がってきた。わたしはエジプト全国で、このような醜いものをまだ見たことがない。
And, behold, seven other cows came out after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:
20 ところがそのやせた醜い雌牛が、初めの七頭の肥えた雌牛を食いつくしたが、
And the lean and the ill favoured cows ate up the first seven fat cows:
21 腹にはいっても、腹にはいった事が知れず、やはり初めのように醜かった。ここでわたしは目が覚めた。
And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke.
22 わたしはまた夢をみた。一本の茎に七つの実った良い穂が出てきた。
And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up on one stalk, full and good:
23 その後、やせ衰えて、東風に焼けた七つの穂が出てきたが、
And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and parched with the east wind, sprung up after them:
24 そのやせた穂が、あの七つの良い穂をのみつくした。わたしは魔術師に話したが、わたしにそのわけを示しうる者はなかった」。
And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this to the magicians; but there was none that could make known the meaning of it to me.
25 ヨセフはパロに言った、「パロの夢は一つです。神がこれからしようとすることをパロに示されたのです。
And Joseph said to Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath showed Pharaoh what he is about to do.
26 七頭の良い雌牛は七年です。七つの良い穂も七年で、夢は一つです。
The seven good cows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.
27 あとに続いて、上がってきた七頭のやせた醜い雌牛は七年で、東風に焼けた実の入らない七つの穂は七年のききんです。
And the seven thin and ill favoured cows that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blighted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.
28 わたしがパロに申し上げたように、神がこれからしようとすることをパロに示されたのです。
This is the thing which I have spoken to Pharaoh: What God is about to do he showeth to Pharaoh.
29 エジプト全国に七年の大豊作があり、
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:
30 その後七年のききんが起り、その豊作はみなエジプトの国で忘れられて、そのききんは国を滅ぼすでしょう。
And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;
31 後に来るそのききんが、非常に激しいから、その豊作は国のうちで記憶されなくなるでしょう。
And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of the famine following; for it shall be very grievous.
32 パロが二度重ねて夢を見られたのは、この事が神によって定められ、神がすみやかにこれをされるからです。
And for that the dream was doubled to Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
33 それゆえパロは今、さとく、かつ賢い人を尋ね出してエジプトの国を治めさせなさい。
Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
34 パロはこうして国中に監督を置き、その七年の豊作のうちに、エジプトの国の産物の五分の一を取り、
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.
35 続いて来る良い年々のすべての食糧を彼らに集めさせ、穀物を食糧として、パロの手で町々にたくわえ守らせなさい。
And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up grain under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
36 こうすれば食糧は、エジプトの国に臨む七年のききんに備えて、この国のためにたくわえとなり、この国はききんによって滅びることがないでしょう」。
And that food shall be for reserve for the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land may not perish through the famine.
37 この事はパロとそのすべての家来たちの目にかなった。
And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 そこでパロは家来たちに言った、「われわれは神の霊をもつこのような人を、ほかに見いだし得ようか」。
And Pharaoh said to his servants, Can we find such a man as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39 またパロはヨセフに言った、「神がこれを皆あなたに示された。あなたのようにさとく賢い者はない。
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shown thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 あなたはわたしの家を治めてください。わたしの民はみなあなたの言葉に従うでしょう。わたしはただ王の位でだけあなたにまさる」。
Thou shalt be over my house, and according to thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.
41 パロは更にヨセフに言った、「わたしはあなたをエジプト全国のつかさとする」。
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
42 そしてパロは指輪を手からはずして、ヨセフの手にはめ、亜麻布の衣服を着せ、金の鎖をくびにかけ、
And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
43 自分の第二の車に彼を乗せ、「ひざまずけ」とその前に呼ばわらせ、こうして彼をエジプト全国のつかさとした。
And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
44 ついでパロはヨセフに言った、「わたしはパロである。あなたの許しがなければエジプト全国で、だれも手足を上げることはできない」。
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.
45 パロはヨセフの名をザフナテ・パネアと呼び、オンの祭司ポテペラの娘アセナテを妻として彼に与えた。ヨセフはエジプトの国を巡った。
And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him for a wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went over all the land of Egypt.
46 ヨセフがエジプトの王パロの前に立った時は三十歳であった。ヨセフはパロの前を出て、エジプト全国をあまねく巡った。
And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.
47 さて七年の豊作のうちに地は豊かに物を産した。
And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.
48 そこでヨセフはエジプトの国にできたその七年間の食糧をことごとく集め、その食糧を町々に納めさせた。すなわち町の周囲にある畑の食糧をその町の中に納めさせた。
And he gathered all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was surrounding every city, he laid up in the same.
49 ヨセフは穀物を海の砂のように、非常に多くたくわえ、量りきれなくなったので、ついに量ることをやめた。
And Joseph gathered grain as the sand of the sea, very much, until he finished numbering; for it was without number.
50 ききんの年の来る前にヨセフにふたりの子が生れた。これらはオンの祭司ポテペラの娘アセナテが産んだのである。
And to Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bore to him.
51 ヨセフは長子の名をマナセと名づけて言った、「神がわたしにすべての苦難と父の家のすべての事を忘れさせられた」。
And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.
52 また次の子の名をエフライムと名づけて言った、「神がわたしを悩みの地で豊かにせられた」。
And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
53 エジプトの国にあった七年の豊作が終り、
And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.
54 ヨセフの言ったように七年のききんが始まった。そのききんはすべての国にあったが、エジプト全国には食物があった。
And the seven years of famine began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the famine was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
55 やがてエジプト全国が飢えた時、民はパロに食物を叫び求めた。そこでパロはすべてのエジプトびとに言った、「ヨセフのもとに行き、彼の言うようにせよ」。
And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, Go to Joseph; what he saith to you, do.
56 ききんが地の全面にあったので、ヨセフはすべての穀倉を開いて、エジプトびとに売った。ききんはますますエジプトの国に激しくなった。
And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine became severe in the land of Egypt.
57 ききんが全地に激しくなったので、諸国の人々がエジプトのヨセフのもとに穀物を買うためにきた。
And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy grain; because the famine was severe in all lands.
