エゼキエル書 8
1 第六年の六月五日にわたしがわたしの家に座し、ユダの長老たちがわたしの前に座していたとき、主なる神の手がわたしの上に下った。
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Sovereign YHWH fell there upon me.
2 わたしは見ていると、見よ、人のような形があって、その腰とみられる所から下は火のように見え、腰から上は光る青銅のように輝いて見えた。
Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
3 彼は手のようなものを伸べて、わたしの髪の毛をつかんだ。そして霊がわたしを天と地の間に引きあげ、神の幻のうちにわたしをエルサレムに携えて行き、北に向かった内庭の門の入口に至らせた。そこには、ねたみをひき起すねたみの偶像があった。
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of Elohim to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
4 見よ、そこに、わたしがかの平野で見た幻のようなイスラエルの神の栄光があらわれた。
And, behold, the glory of the Elohim of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.
5 時に彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、目をあげて北の方をのぞめ」。そこでわたしが目をあげて北の方をのぞむと、見よ、祭壇の門の北にあたって、その入口に、このねたみの偶像があった。
Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
6 彼はまたわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、あなたは彼らのしていること、すなわちイスラエルの家がここでしている大いなる憎むべきことを見るか。これはわたしを聖所から遠ざけるものである。しかしあなたは、さらに大いなる憎むべきことを見るだろう」。
He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
7 そして彼はわたしを庭の門に行かせた。わたしが見ると、見よ、壁に一つの穴があった。
And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
8 彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、壁に穴をあけよ」。そこでわたしが壁に穴をあけると、見よ、一つの戸があった。
Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 彼はわたしに言われた、「はいって、彼らがここでなす所の悪しき憎むべきことを見よ」。
And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
10 そこでわたしがはいって見ると、もろもろの這うものと、憎むべき獣の形、およびイスラエルの家のもろもろの偶像が、まわりの壁に描いてあった。
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
11 またイスラエルの家の長老七十人が、その前に立っていた。シャパンの子ヤザニヤも、彼らの中に立っていた。おのおの手に香炉を持ち、そしてその香の煙が雲のようにのぼった。
And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12 時に彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、イスラエルの家の長老たちが暗い所で行う事、すなわちおのおのその偶像の室で行う事を見るか。彼らは言う、『主はわれわれを見られない。主はこの地を捨てられた』と」。
Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, YHWH seeth us not; YHWH hath forsaken the earth.
13 またわたしに言われた、「あなたはさらに彼らがなす大いなる憎むべきことを見る」。
He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
14 そして彼はわたしを連れて主の家の北の門の入口に行った。見よ、そこに女たちがすわって、タンムズのために泣いていた。
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of YHWH 's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
15 その時、彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、あなたはこれを見たか。これよりもさらに大いなる憎むべきことを見るだろう」。
Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16 彼はまたわたしを連れて、主の家の内庭にはいった。見よ、主の宮の入口に、廊と祭壇との間に二十五人ばかりの人が、主の宮にその背中を向け、顔を東に向け、東に向かって太陽を拝んでいた。
And he brought me into the inner court of YHWH 's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of YHWH, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of YHWH, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
17 時に彼はわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、あなたはこれを見たか。ユダの家にとって、彼らがここでしているこれらの憎むべきわざは軽いことであるか。彼らはこの地を暴虐で満たし、さらにわたしを怒らせる。見よ、彼らはその鼻に木の枝を置く。
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
18 それゆえ、わたしも憤って事を行う。わたしの目は彼らを惜しみ見ず、またあわれまない。たとい彼らがわたしの耳に大声で呼ばわっても、わたしは彼らの言うことを聞かない」。
Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
