出エジプト記 8
1 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたはパロのところに行って言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられます、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, “This is what Adonai says, ‘Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.
2 しかし、去らせることを拒むならば、見よ、わたしは、かえるをもって、あなたの領土を、ことごとく撃つであろう。
If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:
3 ナイル川にかえるが群がり、のぼって、あなたの家、あなたの寝室にはいり、寝台にのぼり、あなたの家来と民の家にはいり、またあなたのかまどや、こね鉢にはいり、
and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:
4 あなたと、あなたの民と、すべての家来のからだに、はい上がるであろう」と』」。
and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.’”
5 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたはアロンに言いなさい、『つえを持って、手を川の上、流れの上、、池の上にさし伸べ、かえるをエジプトの地にのぼらせなさい』と」。
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”
6 アロンが手をエジプトの水の上にさし伸べたので、かえるはのぼってエジプトの地をおおった。
Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt [Abode of slavery]; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
7 魔術師らも秘術をもって同じように行い、かえるをエジプトの地にのぼらせた。
The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
8 パロはモーセとアロンを召して言った、「かえるをわたしと、わたしの民から取り去るように主に願ってください。そのときわたしはこの民を去らせて、主に犠牲をささげさせるでしょう」。
Then Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Entreat Adonai, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Adonai.”
9 モーセはパロに言った、「あなたと、あなたの家来と、あなたの民のために、わたしがいつ願って、このかえるを、あなたとあなたの家から断って、ナイル川だけにとどまらせるべきか、きめてください」。
Moses [Drawn out] said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”
10 パロは言った、「明日」。モーセは言った、「仰せのとおりになって、わたしたちの神、主に並ぶもののないことを、あなたが知られますように。
He said, “Tomorrow.” He said, “Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God].
11 そして、かえるはあなたと、あなたの家と、あなたの家来と、あなたの民を離れてナイル川にだけとどまるでしょう」。
The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”
12 こうしてモーセとアロンはパロを離れて出た。モーセは主がパロにつかわされたかえるの事について、主に呼び求めたので、
Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] went out from Pharaoh, and Moses [Drawn out] cried to Adonai concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.
13 主はモーセのことばのようにされ、かえるは家から、庭から、また畑から死に絶えた。
Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.
14 これをひと山ひと山に積んだので、地は臭くなった。
They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.
15 ところがパロは息つくひまのできたのを見て、主が言われたように、その心をかたくなにして彼らの言うことを聞かなかった。
But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them, as Adonai had spoken.
16 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたはアロンに言いなさい、『あなたのつえをさし伸べて地のちりを打ち、それをエジプトの全国にわたって、ぶよとならせなさい』と」。
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Tell Aaron [Light-bringer], ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].’”
17 彼らはそのように行った。すなわちアロンはそのつえをとって手をさし伸べ、地のちりを打ったので、ぶよは人と家畜についた。すなわち、地のちりはみなエジプトの全国にわたって、ぶよとなった。
They did so; and Aaron [Light-bringer] stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].
18 魔術師らも秘術をもって同じように行い、ぶよを出そうとしたが、彼らにはできなかった。ぶよが人と家畜についたので、
The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.
19 魔術師らはパロに言った、「これは神の指です」。しかし主の言われたように、パロの心はかたくなになって、彼らのいうことを聞かなかった。
Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger:” and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· them; as Adonai had spoken.
20 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたは朝早く起きてパロの前に立ちなさい。ちょうど彼は水のところに出ているから彼に言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、「わたしの民を去らせて、わたしに仕えさせなさい。
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Adonai says, “Let my people go, that they may abad ·serve· me.
21 あなたがわたしの民を去らせないならば、わたしは、あなたとあなたの家来と、あなたの民とあなたの家とに、あぶの群れをつかわすであろう。エジプトびとの家々は、あぶの群れで満ち、彼らの踏む地もまた、そうなるであろう。
Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
22 その日わたしは、わたしの民の住むゴセンの地を区別して、そこにあぶの群れを入れないであろう。国の中でわたしが主であることをあなたが知るためである。
I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen [Drawing near], in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am Adonai on the earth.
23 わたしはわたしの民とあなたの民の間に区別をおく。このしるしは、あす起るであろう」と』」。
I will put a division between my people and your people: by tomorrow shall this sign be.”’”
24 主はそのようにされたので、おびただしいあぶが、パロの家と、その家来の家と、エジプトの全国にはいってきて、地はあぶの群れのために害をうけた。
Adonai did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses: and in all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.
25 そこで、パロはモーセとアロンを召して言った、「あなたがたは行ってこの国の内で、あなたがたの神に犠牲をささげなさい」。
Pharaoh called for Moses [Drawn out] and for Aaron [Light-bringer], and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”
26 モーセは言った、「そうすることはできません。わたしたちはエジプトびとの忌むものを犠牲として、わたしたちの神、主にささげるからです。もし、エジプトびとの目の前で、彼らの忌むものを犠牲にささげるならば、彼らはわたしたちを石で打たないでしょうか。
Moses [Drawn out] said, “It is not appropriate to do so; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God]. Behold, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] before their eyes, and won’t they stone us?
27 わたしたちは三日の道のりほど、荒野にはいって、わたしたちの神、主に犠牲をささげ、主がわたしたちに命じられるようにしなければなりません」。
We will go three days’ journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God], as he has ordered us to do.”
28 パロは言った、「わたしはあなたがたを去らせ、荒野で、あなたがたの神、主に犠牲をささげさせよう。ただあまり遠くへ行ってはならない。わたしのために祈願しなさい」。
Pharaoh said, “I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to Adonai your God in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Pray for me.”
29 モーセは言った、「わたしはあなたのもとから出て行って主に祈願しましょう。あすあぶの群れがパロと、その家来と、その民から離れるでしょう。ただパロはまた欺いて、民が主に犠牲をささげに行くのをとめないようにしてください」。
Moses [Drawn out] said, “Behold, I go out from you, and I will pray to Adonai that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; only don’t let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to Adonai.”
30 こうしてモーセはパロのもとを出て、主に祈願したので、
Moses [Drawn out] went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Adonai.
31 主はモーセの言葉のようにされた。すなわち、あぶの群れをパロと、その家来と、その民から取り去られたので、一つも残らなかった。
Adonai did according to the word of Moses [Drawn out], and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.
32 しかしパロはこんどもまた、その心をかたくなにして民を去らせなかった。
Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he didn’t let the people go.
