出エジプト記 34
1 主はモーセに言われた、「あなたは前のような石の板二枚を、切って造りなさい。わたしはあなたが砕いた初めの板にあった言葉を、その板に書くであろう。
And Jehovah said to Moses, Hew thee two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write upon the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which thou broke.
2 あなたは朝までに備えをし、朝のうちにシナイ山に登って、山の頂でわたしの前に立ちなさい。
And be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me on the top of the mount.
3 だれもあなたと共に登ってはならない。また、だれも山の中にいてはならない。また山の前で羊や牛を飼っていてはならない」。
And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount, neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
4 そこでモーセは前のような石の板二枚を、切って造り、朝早く起きて、主が彼に命じられたようにシナイ山に登った。彼はその手に石の板二枚をとった。
And he hewed two tablets of stone like the first. And Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to mount Sinai, as Jehovah had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.
5 ときに主は雲の中にあって下り、彼と共にそこに立って主の名を宣べられた。
And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.
6 主は彼の前を過ぎて宣べられた。「主、主、あわれみあり、恵みあり、怒ることおそく、いつくしみと、まこととの豊かなる神、
And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
7 いつくしみを千代までも施し、悪と、とがと、罪とをゆるす者、しかし、罰すべき者をば決してゆるさず、父の罪を子に報い、子の子に報いて、三、四代におよぼす者」。
keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons, and upon the sons's sons, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.
8 モーセは急ぎ地に伏して拝し、
And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
9 そして言った、「ああ主よ、わたしがもし、あなたの前に恵みを得ますならば、かたくなな民ですけれども、どうか主がわたしたちのうちにあって一緒に行ってください。そしてわたしたちの悪と罪とをゆるし、わたしたちをあなたのものとしてください」。
And he said, If now I have found favor in thy sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I pray thee, go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
10 主は言われた、「見よ、わたしは契約を結ぶ。わたしは地のいずこにも、いかなる民のうちにも、いまだ行われたことのない不思議を、あなたのすべての民の前に行うであろう。あなたが共に住む民はみな、主のわざを見るであろう。わたしがあなたのためになそうとすることは、恐るべきものだからである。
And he said, Behold, I make a covenant. Before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation, and all the people among which thou are shall see the work of Jehovah, for it is an awesome thing that I do with thee.
11 わたしが、きょう、あなたに命じることを守りなさい。見よ、わたしはアモリびと、カナンびと、ヘテびと、ペリジびと、ヒビびと、エブスびとを、あなたの前から追い払うであろう。
Observe thou that which I command thee this day. Behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
12 あなたが行く国に住んでいる者と、契約を結ばないように、気をつけなければならない。おそらく彼らはあなたのうちにあって、わなとなるであろう。
Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where thou go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee.
13 むしろあなたがたは、彼らの祭壇を倒し、石の柱を砕き、アシラ像を切り倒さなければならない。
But ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their Asherim,
14 あなたは他の神を拝んではならない。主はその名を『ねたみ』と言って、ねたむ神だからである。
for thou shall worship no other god. For Jehovah, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
15 おそらくあなたはその国に住む者と契約を結び、彼らの神々を慕って姦淫を行い、その神々に犠牲をささげ、招かれて彼らの犠牲を食べ、
Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot after their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and a man calls thee and thou eat of his sacrifice,
16 またその娘たちを、あなたのむすこたちにめとり、その娘たちが自分たちの神々を慕って姦淫を行い、また、あなたのむすこたちをして、彼らの神々を慕わせ、姦淫を行わせるに至るであろう。
and thou take of their daughters to thy sons, and their daughters play the harlot after their gods, and make thy sons play the harlot after their gods.
17 あなたは自分のために鋳物の神々を造ってはならない。
Thou shall make thee no molten gods.
18 あなたは種入れぬパンの祭を守らなければならない。すなわち、わたしがあなたに命じたように、アビブの月の定めの時に、七日のあいだ、種入れぬパンを食べなければならない。あなたがアビブの月にエジプトを出たからである。
Thou shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days thou shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib, for in the month Abib thou came out from Egypt.
19 すべて初めに生れる者は、わたしのものである。すべてあなたの家畜のういごの雄は、牛も羊もそうである。
All that opens the womb is mine, and all thy cattle that is male, the firstlings of cow and sheep.
20 ただし、ろばのういごは小羊であがなわなければならない。もしあがなわないならば、その首を折らなければならない。あなたのむすこのうちのういごは、みなあがなわなければならない。むなし手でわたしの前に出てはならない。
And the firstling of a donkey thou shall redeem with a lamb, and if thou will not redeem it, then thou shall break its neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shall redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.
21 あなたは六日のあいだ働き、七日目には休まなければならない。耕し時にも、刈入れ時にも休まなければならない。
Six days thou shall work, but on the seventh day thou shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest thou shall rest.
22 あなたは七週の祭、すなわち小麦刈りの初穂の祭を行わなければならない。また年の終りに取り入れの祭を行わなければならない。
And thou shall observe the feast of weeks, even of the first-fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering in the middle of the year.
23 年に三度、男子はみな主なる神、イスラエルの神の前に出なければならない。
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the lord Jehovah, the God of Israel.
24 わたしは国々の民をあなたの前から追い払って、あなたの境を広くするであろう。あなたが年に三度のぼって、あなたの神、主の前に出る時には、だれもあなたの国を侵すことはないであろう。
For I will cast out nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders. Neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou go up to appear before Jehovah thy God three times in the year.
25 あなたは犠牲の血を、種を入れたパンと共に供えてはならない。また過越の祭の犠牲を、翌朝まで残して置いてはならない。
Thou shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, nor shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left to the morning.
26 あなたの土地の初穂の最も良いものを、あなたの神、主の家に携えてこなければならない。あなたは子やぎをその母の乳で煮てはならない」。
The first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shall bring to the house of Jehovah thy God. Thou shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
27 また主はモーセに言われた、「これらの言葉を書きしるしなさい。わたしはこれらの言葉に基いて、あなたおよびイスラエルと契約を結んだからである」。
And Jehovah said to Moses, Write thou these words, for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
28 モーセは主と共に、四十日四十夜、そこにいたが、パンも食べず、水も飲まなかった。そして彼は契約の言葉、十誡を板の上に書いた。
And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread, nor drank water, and he wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
29 モーセはそのあかしの板二枚を手にして、シナイ山から下ったが、その山を下ったとき、モーセは、さきに主と語ったゆえに、顔の皮が光を放っているのを知らなかった。
And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.
30 アロンとイスラエルの人々とがみな、モーセを見ると、彼の顔の皮が光を放っていたので、彼らは恐れてこれに近づかなかった。
And when Aaron and all the sons of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.
31 モーセは彼らを呼んだ。アロンと会衆のかしらたちとがみな、モーセのもとに帰ってきたので、モーセは彼らと語った。
And Moses called to them. And Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke to them.
32 その後、イスラエルの人々がみな近よったので、モーセは主がシナイ山で彼に語られたことを、ことごとく彼らにさとした。
And afterward all the sons of Israel came near, and he gave them in commandment all that Jehovah had spoken with him on mount Sinai.
33 モーセは彼らと語り終えた時、顔おおいを顔に当てた。
And when Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
34 しかしモーセは主の前に行って主と語る時は、出るまで顔おおいを取り除いていた。そして出て来ると、その命じられた事をイスラエルの人人に告げた。
But when Moses went in before Jehovah to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out. And he came out, and spoke to the sons of Israel that which he was commanded.
35 イスラエルの人々はモーセの顔を見ると、モーセの顔の皮が光を放っていた。モーセは行って主と語るまで、また顔おおいを顔に当てた。
And the sons of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone. And Moses put the veil upon his face again until he went in to speak with him.
