申命記 34
1 モーセはモアブの平野からネボ山に登り、エリコの向かいのピスガの頂へ行った。そこで主は彼にギレアデの全地をダンまで示し、
So then Moses went up, from the waste plains of Moab into Mount Nebo, the head of Pisgah, which is over against Jericho, —and Yahweh showed him all the land—even Gilead as far as Dan;
2 ナフタリの全部、エフライムとマナセの地およびユダの全地を西の海まで示し、
and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, —and all the land of Judah, as far as the hinder sea;
3 ネゲブと低地、すなわち、しゅろの町エリコの谷をゾアルまで示された。
and the South, —and the circuit of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees as far as Zoar.
4 そして主は彼に言われた、「わたしがアブラハム、イサク、ヤコブに、これをあなたの子孫に与えると言って誓った地はこれである。わたしはこれをあなたの目に見せるが、あなたはそこへ渡って行くことはできない」。
And Yahweh said unto him—This, is the land which I sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed, will I give it. I have let thee see with thine own eyes, But thither, shalt thou not pass over.
5 こうして主のしもべモーセは主の言葉のとおりにモアブの地で死んだ。
So Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there, in the land of Moab, at the bidding of Yahweh;
6 主は彼をベテペオルに対するモアブの地の谷に葬られたが、今日までその墓を知る人はない。
and he buried him, in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor, —but no man hath known his burying-place, until this day.
7 モーセは死んだ時、百二十歳であったが、目はかすまず、気力は衰えていなかった。
Now, Moses, was a hundred and twenty years old, when he died, —his eye had not dimmed, nor had his freshness fled.
8 イスラエルの人々はモアブの平野で三十日の間モーセのために泣いた。そしてモーセのために泣き悲しむ日はついに終った。
And the sons of Israel bewailed Moses in the waste plains of Moab thirty days, —then were completed the wailing-days of the mourning for Moses.
9 ヌンの子ヨシュアは知恵の霊に満ちた人であった。モーセが彼の上に手を置いたからである。イスラエルの人々は彼に聞き従い、主がモーセに命じられたとおりにおこなった。
But, Joshua, son of Nun, was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him, —so the sons of Israel hearkened unto him, and did, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
10 イスラエルには、こののちモーセのような預言者は起らなかった。モーセは主が顔を合わせて知られた者であった。
And there arose not a prophet any more in Israel, like unto Moses, —whom Yahweh acknowledged, face to face;
11 主はエジプトの地で彼をパロとそのすべての家来およびその全地につかわして、もろもろのしるしと不思議を行わせられた。
by all the signs and the wonders which Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt, —unto Pharaoh and unto all his servants and unto all his land;
12 モーセはイスラエルのすべての人の前で大いなる力をあらわし、大いなる恐るべき事をおこなった。
and by all the firm hand, and by all the great terror which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.
