申命記 28
1 もしあなたが、あなたの神、主の声によく聞き従い、わたしが、きょう、命じるすべての戒めを守り行うならば、あなたの神、主はあなたを地のもろもろの国民の上に立たせられるであろう。
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that YHWH thy Elohim will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 もし、あなたがあなたの神、主の声に聞き従うならば、このもろもろの祝福はあなたに臨み、あなたに及ぶであろう。
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim.
3 あなたは町の内でも祝福され、畑でも祝福されるであろう。
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 またあなたの身から生れるもの、地に産する物、家畜の産むもの、すなわち牛の子、羊の子は祝福されるであろう。
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 またあなたのかごと、こねばちは祝福されるであろう。
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 あなたは、はいるにも祝福され、出るにも祝福されるであろう。
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 敵が起ってあなたを攻める時は、主はあなたにそれを撃ち敗らせられるであろう。彼らは一つの道から攻めて来るが、あなたの前で七つの道から逃げ去るであろう。
YHWH shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 主は命じて祝福をあなたの倉と、あなたの手のすべてのわざにくだし、あなたの神、主が賜わる地であなたを祝福されるであろう。
YHWH shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee.
9 もし、あなたの神、主の戒めを守り、その道を歩むならば、主は誓われたようにあなたを立てて、その聖なる民とされるであろう。
YHWH shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of YHWH thy Elohim, and walk in his ways.
10 そうすれば地のすべての民は皆あなたが主の名をもって唱えられるのを見てあなたを恐れるであろう。
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of YHWH; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 主があなたに与えると先祖に誓われた地で、主は良い物、すなわちあなたの身から生れる者、家畜の産むもの、地に産する物を豊かにされるであろう。
And YHWH shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which YHWH sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 主はその宝の蔵である天をあなたのために開いて、雨を季節にしたがってあなたの地に降らせ、あなたの手のすべてのわざを祝福されるであろう。あなたは多くの国民に貸すようになり、借りることはないであろう。
YHWH shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 主はあなたをかしらとならせ、尾とはならせられないであろう。あなたはただ栄えて衰えることはないであろう。きょう、わたしが命じるあなたの神、主の戒めに聞き従って、これを守り行うならば、あなたは必ずこのようになるであろう。
And YHWH shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of YHWH thy Elohim, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 きょう、わたしが命じるこのすべての言葉を離れて右または左に曲り、他の神々に従い、それに仕えてはならない。
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other elohim to serve them.
15 しかし、あなたの神、主の声に聞き従わず、きょう、わたしが命じるすべての戒めと定めとを守り行わないならば、このもろもろののろいがあなたに臨み、あなたに及ぶであろう。
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 あなたは町のうちでものろわれ、畑でものろわれ、
Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17 あなたのかごも、こねばちものろわれ、
Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18 あなたの身から生れるもの、地に産する物、牛の子、羊の子ものろわれるであろう。
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19 あなたは、はいるにものろわれ、出るにものろわれるであろう。
Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20 主はあなたが手をくだすすべての働きにのろいと、混乱と、懲しめとを送られ、あなたはついに滅び、すみやかにうせ果てるであろう。これはあなたが悪をおこなってわたしを捨てたからである。
YHWH shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21 主は疫病をあなたの身につかせ、あなたが行って取る地から、ついにあなたを断ち滅ぼされるであろう。
YHWH shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 主はまた肺病と熱病と炎症と間けつ熱と、かんばつと、立ち枯れと、腐り穂とをもってあなたを撃たれるであろう。これらのものはあなたを追い、ついにあなたを滅ぼすであろう。
YHWH shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23 あなたの頭の上の天は青銅となり、あなたの下の地は鉄となるであろう。
And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 主はあなたの地の雨を、ちりと、ほこりに変らせ、それが天からあなたの上にくだって、ついにあなたを滅ぼすであろう。
YHWH shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 主はあなたを敵の前で敗れさせられるであろう。あなたは一つの道から彼らを攻めて行くが、彼らの前で七つの道から逃げ去るであろう。そしてあなたは地のもろもろの国に恐るべき見せしめとなるであろう。
YHWH shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26 またあなたの死体は空のもろもろの鳥と、地の獣とのえじきとなり、しかもそれを追い払う者はないであろう。
And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27 主はエジプトの腫物と潰瘍と壊血病とひぜんとをもってあなたを撃たれ、あなたはいやされることはないであろう。
YHWH will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 また主はあなたを撃って気を狂わせ、目を見えなくし、心を混乱させられるであろう。
YHWH shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29 あなたは盲人が暗やみに手探りするように、真昼にも手探りするであろう。あなたは行く道で栄えることがなく、ただ常にしえたげられ、かすめられるだけで、あなたを救う者はないであろう。
And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30 あなたは妻をめとっても、ほかの人が彼女と寝るであろう。家を建てても、その中に住まないであろう。ぶどう畑を作っても、その実を摘み取ることがないであろう。
Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31 あなたの牛が目の前でほふられても、あなたはそれを食べることができず、あなたのろばが目の前で奪われても、返されないであろう。あなたの羊が敵のものになっても、それを救ってあなたに返す者はないであろう。
Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 あなたのむすこや娘は他国民にわたされる。あなたの目はそれを見、終日、彼らを慕って衰えるが、あなたは手を施すすべもないであろう。
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 あなたの地の産物およびあなたの労して獲た物はみなあなたの知らない民が食べるであろう。あなたは、ただ常にしえたげられ、苦しめられるのみであろう。
The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 こうしてあなたは目に見る事柄によって、気が狂うにいたるであろう。
So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35 主はあなたのひざと、はぎとに悪い、いやし得ない腫物を生じさせて、足の裏から頭の頂にまで及ぼされるであろう。
YHWH shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36 主はあなたとあなたが立てた王とを携えて、あなたもあなたの先祖も知らない国に移されるであろう。あなたはそこで木や石で造ったほかの神々に仕えるであろう。
YHWH shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other elohim, wood and stone.
37 あなたは主があなたを追いやられるもろもろの民のなかで驚きとなり、ことわざとなり、笑い草となるであろう。
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither YHWH shall lead thee.
38 あなたが多くの種を畑に携えて出ても、その収穫は少ないであろう。いなごがそれを食いつくすからである。
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39 あなたがぶどう畑を作り、それにつちかっても、そのぶどう酒を飲むことができず、その実を集めることもないであろう。虫がそれを食べるからである。
Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 あなたの国にはあまねくオリブの木があるであろう。しかし、あなたはその油を身に塗ることができないであろう。その実がみな落ちてしまうからである。
Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41 むすこや、娘があなたに生れても、あなたのものにならないであろう。彼らは捕えられて行くからである。
Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42 あなたのもろもろの木、および地の産物は、いなごが取って食べるであろう。
All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43 あなたのうちに寄留する他国人は、ますます高くなり、あなたの上に出て、あなたはますます低くなるであろう。
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 彼はあなたに貸し、あなたは彼に貸すことができない。彼はかしらとなり、あなたは尾となるであろう。
He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45 このもろもろののろいが、あなたに臨み、あなたを追い、ついに追いついて、あなたを滅ぼすであろう。これはあなたの神、主の声に聞き従わず、あなたに命じられた戒めと定めとを、あなたが守らなかったからである。
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of YHWH thy Elohim, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 これらの事は長くあなたとあなたの子孫のうえにあって、しるしとなり、また不思議となるであろう。
And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47 あなたがすべての物に豊かになり、あなたの神、主に心から喜び楽しんで仕えないので、
Because thou servedst not YHWH thy Elohim with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 あなたは飢え、かわき、裸になり、すべての物に乏しくなって、主があなたにつかわされる敵に仕えるであろう。敵は鉄のくびきをあなたのくびにかけ、ついにあなたを滅ぼすであろう。
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which YHWH shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 すなわち主は遠い所から、地のはてから一つの民を、はげたかが飛びかけるように、あなたに攻めきたらせられるであろう。これはあなたがその言葉を知らない民、
YHWH shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 顔の恐ろしい民であって、彼らは老人の身を顧みず、幼い者をあわれまず、
A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51 あなたの家畜が産むものや、地の産物を食って、あなたを滅ぼし、穀物をも、酒をも、油をも、牛の子をも、羊の子をも、あなたの所に残さず、ついにあなたを全く滅ぼすであろう。
And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52 その民は全国ですべての町を攻め囲み、ついにあなたが頼みとする、堅固な高い石がきをことごとく撃ちくずし、あなたの神、主が賜わった国のうちのすべての町々を攻め囲むであろう。
And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which YHWH thy Elohim hath given thee.
53 あなたは敵に囲まれ、激しく攻めなやまされて、ついにあなたの神、主が賜わったあなたの身から生れた者、むすこ、娘の肉を食べるに至るであろう。
And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which YHWH thy Elohim hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54 あなたがたのうちのやさしい、温和な男でさえも、自分の兄弟、自分のふところの妻、最後に残っている子供にも食物を惜しんで与えず、
So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55 自分が自分の子供を食べ、その肉を少しでも、この人々のだれにも与えようとはしないであろう。これは敵があなたのすべての町々を囲み、激しく攻め悩まして、何をもその人に残さないからである。
So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56 またあなたがたのうちのやさしい、柔和な女、すなわち柔和で、やさしく、足の裏を土に付けようともしない者でも、自分のふところの夫や、むすこ、娘にもかくして、
The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 自分の足の間からでる後産や、自分の産む子をひそかに食べるであろう。敵があなたの町々を囲み、激しく攻めなやまして、すべての物が欠乏するからである。
And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58 もしあなたが、この書物にしるされているこの律法のすべての言葉を守り行わず、あなたの神、主というこの栄えある恐るべき名を恐れないならば、
If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, YHWH THY Elohim;
59 主はあなたとその子孫の上に激しい災を下されるであろう。その災はきびしく、かつ久しく、その病気は重く、かつ久しいであろう。
Then YHWH will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 主はまた、あなたが恐れた病気、すなわちエジプトのもろもろの病気を再び臨ませて、あなたの身につかせられるであろう。
Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 またこの律法の書にのせてないもろもろの病気と、もろもろの災とを、主はあなたが滅びるまで、あなたの上に下されるであろう。
Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will YHWH bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62 あなたがたは天の星のように多かったが、あなたの神、主の声に聞き従わなかったから、残る者が少なくなるであろう。
And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of YHWH thy Elohim.
63 さきに主があなたがたを良くあしらい、あなたがたを多くするのを喜ばれたように、主は今あなたがたを滅ぼし絶やすのを喜ばれるであろう。あなたがたは、はいって取る地から抜き去られるであろう。
And it shall come to pass, that as YHWH rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so YHWH will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 主は地のこのはてから、かのはてまでのもろもろの民のうちにあなたがたを散らされるであろう。その所で、あなたもあなたの先祖たちも知らなかった木や石で造ったほかの神々にあなたは仕えるであろう。
And YHWH shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other elohim, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 その国々の民のうちであなたは安きを得ず、また足の裏を休める所も得られないであろう。主はその所で、あなたの心をおののかせ、目を衰えさせ、精神を打ちしおれさせられるであろう。
And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but YHWH shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 あなたの命は細い糸にかかっているようになり、夜昼恐れおののいて、その命もおぼつかなく思うであろう。
And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 あなたが心にいだく恐れと、目に見るものによって、朝には『ああ夕であればよいのに』と言い、夕には『ああ朝であればよいのに』と言うであろう。
In the morning thou shalt say, Would Elohim it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would Elohim it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 主はあなたを舟に乗せ、かつてわたしがあなたに告げて、『あなたは再びこれを見ることはない』と言った道によって、あなたをエジプトへ連れもどされるであろう。あなたがたはそこで男女の奴隷として敵に売られるが、だれも買う者はないであろう」。
And YHWH shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
