申命記 14
1 あなたがたはあなたがたの神、主の子供である。死んだ人のために自分の身に傷をつけてはならない。また額の髪をそってはならない。
Ye are the children of YHWH your Elohim: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 あなたはあなたの神、主の聖なる民だからである。主は地のおもてのすべての民のうちからあなたを選んで、自分の宝の民とされた。
For thou art an holy people unto YHWH thy Elohim, and YHWH hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
3 忌むべき物は、どんなものでも食べてはならない。
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
4 あなたがたの食べることができる獣は次のとおりである。すなわち牛、羊、やぎ、
These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 雄じか、かもしか、こじか、野やぎ、くじか、おおじか、野羊など、
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
6 獣のうち、すべて、ひずめの分れたもの、ひずめが二つに切れたもので、反芻するものは食べることができる。
And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
7 ただし、反芻するものと、ひずめの分れたもののうち、次のものは食べてはならない。すなわち、らくだ、野うさぎ、および岩だぬき、これらは反芻するけれども、ひずめが分れていないから汚れたものである。
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
8 また豚、これは、ひずめが分れているけれども、反芻しないから、汚れたものである。その肉を食べてはならない。またその死体に触れてはならない。
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
9 水の中にいるすべての物のうち、次のものは食べることができる。すなわち、すべて、ひれと、うろこのあるものは、食べることができる。
These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 すべて、ひれと、うろこのないものは、食べてはならない。これは汚れたものである。
And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
11 すべて清い鳥は食べることができる。
Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
12 ただし、次のものは食べてはならない。すなわち、はげわし、ひげはげわし、みさご、
But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
13 黒とび、はやぶさ、とびの類。
And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
14 各種のからすの類。
And every raven after his kind.
15 だちょう、夜たか、かもめ、たかの類。
And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
16 ふくろう、みみずく、むらさきばん、
The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
17 ペリカン、はげたか、う、
And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
18 こうのとり、さぎの類。やつがしら、こうもり。
And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19 またすべて羽があって這うものは汚れたものである。それを食べてはならない。
And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
20 すべて翼のある清いものは食べることができる。
But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
21 すべて自然に死んだものは食べてはならない。町の内におる寄留の他国人に、それを与えて食べさせることができる。またそれを外国人に売ってもよい。あなたはあなたの神、主の聖なる民だからである。子やぎをその母の乳で煮てはならない。
Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto YHWH thy Elohim. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.
22 あなたは毎年、畑に種をまいて獲るすべての産物の十分の一を必ず取り分けなければならない。
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 そしてあなたの神、主の前、すなわち主がその名を置くために選ばれる場所で、穀物と、ぶどう酒と、油との十分の一と、牛、羊のういごを食べ、こうして常にあなたの神、主を恐れることを学ばなければならない。
And thou shalt eat before YHWH thy Elohim, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear YHWH thy Elohim always.
24 ただし、その道があまりに遠く、あなたの神、主がその名を置くために選ばれる場所が、非常に遠く離れていて、あなたの神、主があなたを恵まれるとき、それを携えて行くことができないならば、
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which YHWH thy Elohim shall choose to set his name there, when YHWH thy Elohim hath blessed thee:
25 あなたはその物を金に換え、その金を包んで手に取り、あなたの神、主が選ばれる場所に行き、
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which YHWH thy Elohim shall choose:
26 その金をすべてあなたの好む物に換えなければならない。すなわち牛、羊、ぶどう酒、濃い酒など、すべてあなたの欲する物に換え、その所であなたの神、主の前でそれを食べ、家族と共に楽しまなければならない。
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before YHWH thy Elohim, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 町の内におるレビびとを捨ててはならない。彼はあなたがたのうちに分がなく、嗣業を持たない者だからである。
And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 三年の終りごとに、その年の産物の十分の一を、ことごとく持ち出して、町の内にたくわえ、
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 あなたがたのうちに分け前がなく、嗣業を持たないレビびと、および町の内におる寄留の他国人と、孤児と、寡婦を呼んで、それを食べさせ、満足させなければならない。そうすれば、あなたの神、主はあなたが手で行うすべての事にあなたを祝福されるであろう。
And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that YHWH thy Elohim may bless thee in all the work of thine hands which thou doest.
