歴代誌Ⅱ 30

1 ヒゼキヤはイスラエルとユダにあまねく人をつかわし、また手紙をエフライムとマナセに書き送り、エルサレムにある主の宮に来て、イスラエルの神、主に過越の祭を行うように勧めた。

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of YHWH at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto YHWH Elohim of Israel.

2 王はすでにつかさたちおよびエルサレムにおる全会衆に計って、二月に過越の祭を行うことを定めた。

For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

3 これは身を清めた祭司の数が足らず、民もまた、エルサレムに集まらなかったので、正月にこれを行うことができなかったからである

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

4 この事が、王にも全会衆にも良かったので、

And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

5 この事を定めて、ベエルシバからダンまでイスラエルにあまねくふれ示し、エルサレムに来て、イスラエルの神、主に過越の祭を行うことを勧めた。これはしるされているように、これを行う者が多くなかったゆえである。

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto YHWH Elohim of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.

6 そこで飛脚たちは、王とそのつかさたちから受けた手紙をもって、イスラエルとユダをあまねく行き巡り、王の命を伝えて言った、「イスラエルの人々よ、あなたがたはアブラハム、イサク、イスラエルの神、主に立ち返りなさい。そうすれば主は、アッスリヤの王たちの手からのがれた残りのあなたがたに、帰られるでしょう。

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto YHWH Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 あなたがたの父たちおよび兄弟たちのようになってはならない。彼らはその先祖たちの神、主にむかって罪を犯したので、あなたがたの見るように主は彼らを滅びに渡されたのです。

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against YHWH Elohim of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

8 あなたがたの父たちのように強情にならないで、主に帰服し、主がとこしえに聖別された聖所に入り、あなたがたの神、主に仕えなさい。そうすれば、その激しい怒りがあなたがたを離れるでしょう。

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto YHWH, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve YHWH your Elohim, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

9 もしあなたがたが主に立ち返るならば、あなたがたの兄弟および子供は、これを捕えていった者の前にあわれみを得て、この国に帰ることができるでしょう。あなたがたの神、主は恵みあり、あわれみある方であられるゆえ、あなたがたが彼に立ち返るならば、顔をあなたがたにそむけられることはありません」。

For if ye turn again unto YHWH, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for YHWH your Elohim is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

10 このように飛脚たちは、エフライムとマナセの国にはいって、町から町に行き巡り、ついに、ゼブルンまで行ったが、人々はこれをあざけり笑った。

So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

11 ただしアセル、マナセ、ゼブルンのうちには身を低くして、エルサレムにきた人々もあった。

Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

12 またユダにおいては神の手が人々に一つ心を与えて、王とつかさたちが主の言葉によって命じたことを行わせた。

Also in Judah the hand of Elohim was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of YHWH.

13 こうして二月になって、多くの民は、種入れぬパンの祭を行うためエルサレムに集まったが、非常に大きな会衆であった。

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

14 彼らは立ってエルサレムにあるもろもろの祭壇を取り除き、またすべての香をたく祭壇を取り除いてキデロン川に投げすて、

And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.

15 二月の十四日に過越の小羊をほふった。そこで祭司たちおよびレビびとはみずから恥じ、身を清めて主の宮に燔祭を携えて来た。

Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of YHWH.

16 彼らは神の人モーセの律法に従い、いつものようにその所に立ち、祭司たちは、レビびとの手から血を受けて注いだ。

And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of Elohim: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.

17 時に、会衆のうちにまだ身を清めていない者が多かったので、レビびとはその清くないすべての人々に代って過越の小羊をほふり、主に清めてささげた。

For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto YHWH.

18 多くの民すなわちエフライム、マナセ、イッサカル、ゼブルンからきた多くの者はまだ身を清めていないのに、書きしるされたとおりにしないで過越の物を食べた。それでヒゼキヤは、彼らのために祈って言った、「恵みふかき主よ、彼らをゆるしてください。

For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, YHWH is tov and he will pardon everyone

19 彼らは聖所の清めの規定どおりにしなかったけれども、その心を傾けて神を求め、その先祖の神、主を求めたのです」。

That prepareth his heart to seek Elohim, YHWH Elohim of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 主はヒゼキヤに聞いて、民をいやされた。

And YHWH hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

21 そこでエルサレムに来ていたイスラエルの人々は大いなる喜びをいだいて、七日のあいだ種入れぬパンの祭を行った。またレビびとと祭司たちは日々に主をさんびし、力をつくして主をたたえた。

And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised YHWH day by day, singing with loud instruments unto YHWH.

22 そしてヒゼキヤは主の勤めによく通じているすべてのレビびとを深くねぎらった。こうして人々は酬恩祭の犠牲をささげ、その先祖の神、主に感謝して、七日のあいだ祭の供え物を食べた。

And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of YHWH: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to YHWH Elohim of their fathers.

23 なお全会衆は相はかって、さらに七日のあいだ祭を守ることを定め、喜びをもってまた七日のあいだ守った。

And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.

24 時にユダの王ヒゼキヤは雄牛一千頭、羊七千頭を会衆に贈り、また、つかさたちは雄牛一千頭、羊一万頭を会衆に贈った。祭司もまた多く身を清めた。

For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

25 ユダの全会衆および祭司、レビびと、ならびにイスラエルからきた全会衆、およびイスラエルの地からきた他国人と、ユダに住む他国人は皆喜んだ。

And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

26 このようにエルサレムに大いなる喜びがあった。イスラエルの王ダビデの子ソロモンの時からこのかた、このような事はエルサレムになかった。

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.

27 このとき祭司たちとレビびとは立って、民を祝福したが、その声は聞かれ、その祈は主の聖なるすみかである天に達した。

Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
