歴代誌Ⅱ 1
1 ダビデの子ソロモンはその国に自分の地位を確立した。その神、主が共にいまして彼を非常に大いなる者にされた。
And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and YHWH his Elohim was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.
2 ソロモンはすべてのイスラエルびと、すなわち千人の長、百人の長、さばきびとおよびイスラエルの全地のすべてのつかさ、氏族のかしらたちに告げた。
Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.
3 そしてソロモンとイスラエルの全会衆はともにギベオンにある高き所へ行った。主のしもべモーセが荒野で造った神の会見の幕屋がそこにあったからである。
So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of Elohim, which Moses the servant of YHWH had made in the wilderness.
4 （しかし神の箱はダビデがすでにキリアテ・ヤリムから、これのために備えた所に運び上らせてあった。ダビデはさきに、エルサレムでこれのために天幕を張って置いたからである。）
But the ark of Elohim had David brought up from Kirjath-jearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.
5 またホルの子であるウリの子ベザレルが造った青銅の祭壇がその所の主の幕屋の前にあり、ソロモンおよび会衆は主に求めた。
Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of YHWH: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.
6 ソロモンはそこに上って行って、会見の幕屋のうちにある主の前の青銅の祭壇に燔祭一千をささげた。
And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before YHWH, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
7 その夜、神はソロモンに現れて言われた、「あなたに何を与えようか、求めなさい」。
In that night did Elohim appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8 ソロモンは神に言った、「あなたはわたしの父ダビデに大いなるいつくしみを示し、またわたしを彼に代って王とされました。
And Solomon said unto Elohim, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
9 主なる神よ、どうぞわが父ダビデに約束された事を果してください。あなたは地のちりのような多くの民の上にわたしを立てて王とされたからです。
Now, O YHWH Elohim, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10 この民の前に出入りすることのできるように今わたしに知恵と知識とを与えてください。だれがこのような大いなるあなたの民をさばくことができましょうか」。
Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11 神はソロモンに言われた、「この事があなたの心にあって、富をも、宝をも、誉をも、またあなたを憎む者の命をも求めず、また長命をも求めず、ただわたしがあなたを立てて王としたわたしの民をさばくために知恵と知識とを自分のために求めたので、
And Elohim said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12 知恵と知識とはあなたに与えられている。わたしはまたあなたの前の王たちの、まだ得たことのないほどの富と宝と誉とをあなたに与えよう。あなたの後の者も、このようなものを得ないでしょう」。
Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
13 それからソロモンはギベオンの高き所を去り、会見の幕屋の前を去って、エルサレムに帰り、イスラエルを治めた。
Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
14 ソロモンは戦車と騎兵とを集めたが、戦車一千四百両、騎兵一万二千人あった。ソロモンはこれを戦車の町々と、エルサレムの王のもととに置いた。
And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
15 王は銀と金を石のようにエルサレムに多くし、香柏を平野のいちじく桑のように多くした。
And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.
16 ソロモンが馬を輸入したのはエジプトとクエからであった。すなわち王の貿易商人がクエから代価を払って受け取って来た。
And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
17 彼らはエジプトから戦車一両を銀六百シケルで輸入し、馬一頭を銀百五十で輸入した。同じようにこれらのものが彼らによってヘテびとのすべての王たち、およびスリヤの王たちにも輸出された。
And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.
