ルカの福音書 7
1 彼は話を民に聞かせ終わると，カペルナウムに入って行った。
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 一人の百人隊長の召使いで，彼にとって大切な者が，病気で死にかかっていた。
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 彼はイエスについて聞くと，そのもとにユダヤ人の長老たちを遣わし，やって来て自分の召使いを救ってくれるよう，彼に頼んだ。
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent to him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 イエスのもとに来ると，彼らは彼に真剣に懇願して言った，「あの方は，このことをしていただくのにふさわしい人です。
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 わたしたちの民族を愛して，わたしたちのために会堂を建ててくれたのです」。
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 イエスは彼らと共に出かけた。彼がその家からあまり遠くない所まで来た時，その百人隊長は友人たちを彼のもとに遣わして，彼に言った，「主よ，お手数をかけるには及びません。わたしは自分の屋根の下にあなたをお迎えするほどの者ではないからです。
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 そのために，あなたのもとに伺うことさえふさわしくないと思ったのです。むしろ，お言葉を下さい。そうすればわたしの召使いはいやされるでしょう。
Therefore neither thought I myself worthy to come to thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 というのも，わたしも権威の下に置かれた者ですが，わたしの下にも兵士たちがいます。わたしがある者に『行け！』と言えば行きますし，別の者に『来い！』と言えば来ます。またわたしの召使いに『これをしろ』と言えばそれをします」。
For I also am a man placed under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 イエスはこれらの事柄を聞くと，彼について驚嘆し，自分に従っている者たちに言った，「あなた方に告げるが，イスラエルにおいて，わたしはこれほどの信仰を見いだしたことがない」 。
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned himself about, and said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 遣わされた者たちがその家に戻ってくると，病気であった召使いがよくなっているのを見た。
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well that had been sick.
11 その後すぐ，彼はナインと呼ばれる町に行った。大勢の弟子たちと大群衆が彼に伴っていた。
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and many people.
12 彼が町の門に近づくと，見よ，死んだ者が運び出されるところであった。それは，やもめである母親の一人息子であった。大勢の町の人々が彼女と共にいた。
Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.
13 主は彼女を見ると，彼女に対して哀れみを抱き，彼女に言った， 「泣いてはいけない」。
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, Weep not.
14 近づいてひつぎに触れると，運んでいる者たちは立ち止まった。彼は言った，「若者よ，あなたに告げる，起きなさい！」
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.
15 死んでいた者は起き直り，ものを言い始めた。そしてイエスは彼をその母に渡した。
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 みんなは恐れを抱き，神に栄光をささげて言った，「偉大な預言者がわたしたちの間に起こされた！」 また，「神はその民に目を向けてくださった！」
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 彼に関するこの知らせは，ユダヤ全土および周囲の全地域に出て行った。
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the surrounding region.
18 ヨハネの弟子たちは，これらすべてのことについてヨハネに告げた。
And the disciples of John reported to him of all these things.
19 ヨハネは自分の弟子のうちの二人を呼び寄せ，彼らをイエスのもとに遣わして，「あなたが来たるべき方なのですか。それとも，わたしたちはほかの方を待つべきでしょうか」と言わせた。
And John calling two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 その者たちはイエスのもとに来て言った，「バプテスマを施す人ヨハネがわたしたちをあなたのもとに遣わして，『あなたが来たるべき方なのですか。それとも，わたしたちはほかの方を待つべきでしょうか』と申しました」。
When the men had come to him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us to thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 その時に，彼は疾患や伝染病や悪い霊から多くの人をいやし，目の見えない多くの人に視力を与えていた。
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and afflictions, and of evil spirits; and to many that were blind he gave sight.
22 イエスは彼らに答えた，「行って，あなた方が見聞きしている事柄をヨハネに告げなさい。目の見えない人たちは見えるようになり，足の不自由な人たちは歩き，らい病の人たちは清められ，耳の聞こえない人たちは聞き，死んだ人たちは生き返らされ，貧しい人たちには良いたよりが宣教されている。
Then Jesus answering said to them, Go, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; that the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 わたしに背かない者は幸いだ」 。
And blessed is he, who shall not be offended because of me.
24 ヨハネの使いの者たちが去って行くと，彼は群衆にヨハネについてこう告げ始めた。「あなた方は何を見るために荒野へ出て行ったのか。風に揺れるアシか。
And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 そうでなければ，何を見るために出て行ったのか。柔らかな衣を着た人か。見よ，豪華に装って優美に暮らしている者たちなら王たちの家にいる。
But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they who are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 そうでなければ，なぜ出て行ったのか。預言者か。そうだ，あなた方に言うが，預言者よりはるかに優れた者だ。
But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and much more than a prophet.
27 この者こそ，このように書かれている者だ。 『見よ，わたしはあなたの面前にわたしの使者を遣わす。その者はあなたの前に道を整えるだろう』。
This is he, concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 「本当にはっきりとあなた方に告げる。女から生まれた者の中で，バプテスマを施す人ヨハネより偉大な者はいない。だが，神の王国で最も小さな者も，彼よりは偉大だ」。
For I say to you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 すべての民と徴税人たちがそれを聞いた時，彼らは，ヨハネのバプテスマを受けることにより，神の正しさを宣言した。
And all the people that heard him, and the tax collectors, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 しかし，ファリサイ人たちと律法の専門家たちは，彼からバプテスマを受けないことにより，神の勧めをはねのけた。
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.
31 しかし主は言った，「わたしはこの世代の人々を何にたとえようか。彼らは何に似ているだろうか。
And the Lord said, To what then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 彼らは，市場に座って，互いに叫び合っている子供たちに似ている。こう言うのだ，『君たちのために笛を吹いたのに，踊ってくれなかった。君たちのために悲しんだのに，泣いてくれなかった』。
They are like children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 というのも，バプテスマを施す人ヨハネがやって来て，パンを食べもせず，ぶどう酒を飲みもしないと，あなた方は，『彼には悪霊がいる』と言う。
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a demon.
34 人の子がやって来て食べたり飲んだりすると，あなた方は，『見ろ，大食いの大酒飲み，徴税人たちや罪人たちの友！』と言う。
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!
35 知恵はその実によって，正しいことが証明されるのだ」。
But wisdom is justified by all her children.
36 ファリサイ人たちのうちのある者が，一緒に食事をするよう彼を招いた。彼はそのファリサイ人の家に入り，食卓に着いた。
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
37 見よ，罪人である一人の女がその町にいたが，彼がファリサイ人の家で横になっていると知ると，香油の入った雪花石こうのつぼを持って来た。
And, behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus was eating in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 泣きながら後ろから彼の足もとに進み寄り，自分の涙で彼の両足をぬらし始め，自分の髪でそれらをぬぐい，その両足に口づけし，それらに香油を塗った。
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 彼を招待したファリサイ人はこれを見て，自分の中で言った，「この人がもし預言者なら，自分に触っているこの者がだれで，どんな女なのか分かるはずだ。罪人だということを」。
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he spoke within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 イエスは彼に答えた，「シモン，あなたに言うことがある」 。 彼は言った，「先生，おっしゃってください」。
And Jesus answering said to him, Simon, I have somewhat to say to thee. And he saith, Master, say it.
41 「ある貸し主に二人の借り主がいた。一人は五百デナリ，もう一人は五十デナリを借りていた。
There was a certain creditor who had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 彼らが返済できないので，彼は彼ら両方の借金を帳消しにしてやった。それで，彼らのうちどちらが彼をいちばん多く愛するだろうか」。
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 シモンは答えた，「いちばん多く許されたほうだと思います」。 イエスは彼に言った，「あなたは正しく判断した」 。
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said to him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 その女のほうを向いて，シモンに言った，「あなたはこの女が目に入るか。わたしがあなたの家に入っても，あなたは足を洗う水をくれなかったが，彼女はわたしの両足をその涙でぬらし，それらをその髪でぬぐった。
And he turned to the woman, and said to Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thy house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 あなたはわたしに口づけしてくれなかったが，彼女は，わたしが入って来た時から，わたしの両足に口づけしてやまなかった。
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 あなたはわたしの頭に油を塗ってくれなかったが，彼女はわたしの両足に香油を塗った。
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 だから，あなたに告げるが，彼女の多くある罪は許されている。彼女が多く愛したからだ。だが，少ししか許されていない者は，少ししか愛さないのだ」 。
Therefore I say to thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 彼は彼女に言った，「あなたの罪は許されている」 。
And he said to her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 彼と共に食卓に着いていた者たちは自分の中で言い始めた，「罪さえ許すこの人はいったいだれなのだろう」。
And they that were eating with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 彼はその女に言った，「あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ。平安のうちに行きなさい」 。
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
