ルカの福音書 22
1 さて，過ぎ越しと呼ばれる種なしパンの祭りが近づいていた。
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 祭司長たちと律法学者たちは，どうしたら彼を死に至らせることができるかを探り求めていた。彼らは民を恐れていたのである。
And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.
3 サタンが，またの名をイスカリオトといい，十二人の中に数えられていたユダに入り込んだ。
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 彼は出て行き，祭司長たちや指揮官たちと，どうしたら彼がイエスを彼らに引き渡せるかについて話し合った。
And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
5 彼らは喜び，彼にお金を与えることに決めた。
And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 彼は承諾し，群衆のいないときにイエスを引き渡す機会を探り求めた。
And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 種なしパンの日がやって来た。過ぎ越しの犠牲がささげられなければならない日である。
And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.
8 彼はペトロとヨハネを遣わして，こう言った，「行って，わたしたちのために過ぎ越しの食事を用意しなさい」 。
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
9 彼らは彼に言った，「どこに用意をすることをお望みですか」。
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
10 彼は彼らに言った，「見よ，あなた方が市内に入ると，水がめを運んでいる男があなた方に出会うだろう。その人に付いて行き，彼の入る家に行きなさい。
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.
11 その家の主人にこう言いなさい。『先生が，「わたしが弟子たちと共に過ぎ越しの食事をする客室はどこか」と言っています』。
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 彼はあなた方に，席の整えられた大きな階上の部屋を見せてくれるだろう。その場所で準備をしなさい」 。
And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 彼らは出て行き，彼が自分たちに告げたとおりのことを見いだした。それで彼らは過ぎ越しの用意をした。
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 その時刻になると，彼は十二人の使徒たちと共に席に着いた。
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.
15 彼は彼らに言った，「わたしは，自分が苦しみを受ける前に，あなた方と一緒にこの過ぎ越しの食事をしたいと，熱烈に願っていた。
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 あなた方に告げるが，神の王国でこれが満たされるまで，わたしはもはやこの食事をすることはないからだ」 。
for I say unto you, I will not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 杯を受け取り，感謝をささげてから，彼らに言った，「これを取って，互いに分け合いなさい。
And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 あなた方に告げるが，神の王国が来るまで，わたしはもはやブドウの木の産物を飲むことはないからだ」 。
for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 パンを取り，感謝をささげてからそれを裂き，彼らに与えてこう言った。「これはあなた方のために与えられるわたしの体だ。わたしの思い出として，これを行ないなさい」 。
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 同じように，晩さんの後で杯を取ってこう言った。「この杯は，あなた方のために流されるわたしの血による新しい契約だ。
And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.
21 だが，見よ，わたしを売り渡す者の手が，わたしと共に食卓にある。
But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 確かに人の子は定められたとおりに去って行く。だが，彼を売り渡すその人は災いだ！」
For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
23 彼らは，彼らの中でだれがそんなことをしようとしているのか，互いに尋ね始めた。
And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 彼らの間ではまた，自分たちの中でだれが一番偉いと思われるかに関する口論も生じた。
And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest.
25 彼は彼らに言った，「異邦人たちの王たちは人々に対して威張り散らし，人々の上に権力のある者たちは『恩人』と呼ばれている。
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 だが，あなた方はそうではない。むしろ，あなた方の間で一番偉い者は一番若い者のように，支配する者は仕える者のようになりなさい。
But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 というのは，食卓に着いている者と仕える者では，どちらが偉いのか。食卓に着いている者ではないか。それでも，わたしは仕える者としてあなた方の中にいる。
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
28 だが，あなた方はわたしの数々の試練のときに，ずっとわたしと共にいてくれた者たちだ。
But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations;
29 わたしの父がわたしに王国を授けてくださったように，わたしはあなた方にそれを授ける。
and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
30 あなた方がわたしの王国で，わたしの食卓に着いて食べたり飲んだりするためだ。あなた方は座に着き，イスラエルの十二部族を裁くだろう」 。
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 主は言った，「シモン，シモン，見よ，サタンは，あなた方を小麦のようにふるいにかけるために，あなた方を手に入れることを求めた。
Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
32 だがわたしは，あなたの信仰が尽きないように，あなたのために祈った。あなたは，いったん立ち返ったなら，あなたの兄弟たちを強めなさい」 。
but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not: and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, stablish thy brethren.
33 ペトロは彼に言った，「主よ，わたしは，ろうやにも，死に至るまでも，あなたと一緒に行く用意ができています！」
And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
34 彼は言った，「ペトロよ，あなたに告げる。あなたが三度わたしを知っていることを否認するまでは，今日，おんどりが鳴くことはないだろう」 。
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 彼は彼らに言った，「わたしがあなた方を，財布も袋も履物も持たせずに遣わした時，何かに不足したか」 。 彼らは言った，「何にも不足しませんでした」。
And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 すると彼は彼らに言った，「だが今は，財布のある者はそれを取り，袋も同じようにしなさい。何も持っていない者は，自分の外衣を売って，剣を買いなさい。
And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloke, and buy a sword.
37 あなた方に告げるが，『彼は不法な者たちと共に数えられた』と書かれているこのことは，なおわたしにおいて果たされなければならないのだ。わたしに関することは終わりを迎えるからだ」 。
For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfillment.
38 彼らは言った，「主よ，ご覧ください，ここに剣が二振りあります」。 彼は彼らに言った，「それで十分だ」 。
And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 彼は出て来て，自分の習慣どおりに，オリーブ山に行った。弟子たちも彼に従った。
And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.
40 その場所に来ると，彼は彼らに言った，「あなた方は誘惑に陥らないよう，祈っていなさい」 。
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 彼らから石を投げて届くほどの所に下がり，ひざまずいて祈り，
And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,
42 こう言った，「父よ，もしそう望まれるなら，この杯をわたしから取り除いてください。それでも，わたしの意志ではなく，あなたのご意志がなされますように」 。
saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 天から一人のみ使いが彼に現われ，彼を強めた。
And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44 彼は苦しみもだえ，ますます熱烈に祈った。彼の汗は大粒の血の滴りのようになって地面に落ちた。
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
45 祈りから起き上がり，弟子たちのところに来ると，彼らが悲しみのために眠り込んでいるのを見いだした。
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 それで彼らに言った，「なぜあなた方は眠っているのか。誘惑に陥らないよう，起きて祈っていなさい」 。
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47 彼がまだ話しているうちに，見よ，群衆が現われた。そして，十二人の一人でユダと呼ばれる者が彼らの先頭に立っていた。口づけをしようとしてイエスに近づいた。
While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 しかしイエスは彼に言った，「ユダ，あなたは口づけで人の子を売り渡すのか」 。
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 彼の周りにいた者たちは，起きようとしていることを見て，彼に言った，「主よ，剣で撃ちましょうか」。
And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 彼らのうちのある者が，大祭司の召使いに撃ちかかり，その右耳を切り落とした。
And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
51 しかしイエスは答えた，「そこまでにしなさい」 。そして，彼の耳を触って，彼をいやした。
But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 イエスは，自分に向かって来た祭司長たち，神殿の指揮官たち，および長老たちに言った，「あなた方は強盗に対するかのように，剣とこん棒を持って出て来たのか。
And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, which were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
53 わたしは毎日あなた方と一緒に神殿にいて教えていたのに，あなた方はわたしに向かって手を出さなかった。だが，今はあなた方の時，闇の支配だ」 。
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 彼らは彼を捕まえて，引いて行き，大祭司の家に連れて来た。しかしペトロは遠くから付いて行った。
And they seized him, and led him [away], and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.
55 人々は中庭の真ん中に火をたいて一緒に座ったので，ペトロも彼らの中で腰を下ろした。
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.
56 ある召使いの女が，彼が明るいところに座っているのを見，彼をじっと見つめて言った，「この男も彼と一緒にいました」。
And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light [of the fire], and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
57 彼はイエスを否認して言った，「女よ，わたしは彼を知らない」。
But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 しばらくして，ほかの者が彼を見て言った，「あなたも彼らの一人だ！」 しかしペトロは答えた，「人よ，わたしは違う！」
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art [one] of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 一時間ほどすると，別の者が自信満々に断言して言った，「確かにこの男も彼と一緒にいた。ガリラヤ人だからだ！」
And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 しかしペトロは言った，「人よ，わたしはあなた方の話しているそのことを知らないのだ！」 すぐに，彼がまだ話している間に，おんどりが鳴いた。
But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 主は振り返ってペトロを見つめた。そこでペトロは，「おんどりが鳴く前に，あなたは三度わたしを否認するだろう」 と，主が自分に言った言葉を思い出した。
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 外に出て，激しく泣いた。
And he went out, and wept bitterly.
63 イエスを拘留していた者たちは，彼をなぶりものにし，殴りつけた。
And the men that held [Jesus] mocked him, and beat him.
64 彼に目隠しをして顔を打ち，彼に言った，「預言しろ！ お前を打ったのはだれか」。
And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
65 彼らは，彼を侮辱しながら，彼に向かってほかにも多くのことを話しかけた。
And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
66 朝になると，民の長老たちの会は，祭司長たちも律法学者たちも共に集まり，彼を彼らの最高法院に引いて行き，こう言った。
And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,
67 「もしお前がキリストなら，我々に告げよ」。 しかし彼は彼らに言った，「あなた方に告げたとしても，あなた方は信じないだろうし，
If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 尋ねたとしても，あなた方はわたしに答えたり，わたしを解放したりはしないだろう。
and if I ask [you], ye will not answer.
69 今後，人の子は神の力の右に座ることになる」 。
But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
70 みんなは言った，「それならお前は神の子か」。 彼は彼らに言った，「わたしはあるとは，あなた方が言った」 。
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 彼らは言った，「なぜこれ以上証人が必要だろうか。我々自身が本人の口から聞いたのだ！」
And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
