ルカの福音書 16
1 彼は弟子たちにもこう言った。「ある富んだ人がいたが，彼には一人の管理人がいた。この者が主人の財産を浪費しているという告発が彼になされた。
He also said to his disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions.
2 彼は管理人を呼んで言った，『わたしがお前について聞いているこのことは，どういうことなのか。お前の管理の会計報告を出しなさい。もう管理はさせられない』。
He called him, and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an accounting of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’
3 「その管理人は自分の内で言った，『どうしようか。わたしの主人はわたしから管理職を取り上げるというのだ。土を掘るほどの力はない。物ごいをするのは恥ずかしい。
“The manager said within himself, ‘What will I do, seeing that my lord is taking away the management position from me? I don’t have strength to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
4 どうすればよいかわかったぞ。こうすれば，わたしが管理職から外された時，人々はわたしを自分たちの家に迎えてくれるだろう』。
I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from management, they may receive me into their houses.’
5 自分の主人の借り主たちを一人ずつ呼び出して，最初の者に言った，『わたしの主人にどのくらいの借りがあるのか』。
Calling each one of his lord’s debtors to him, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my lord?’
6 彼は言った，『油百バトスです』。管理人は彼に言った，『自分の証書を取りなさい。早く座って，五十と書きなさい』。
He said, ‘A hundred batos of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’
7 それから別の者に言った，『どのくらいの借りがあるのか』。彼は言った，『小麦百コロスです』。管理人は彼に言った，『自分の証書を取って，八十と書きなさい』。
Then he said to another, ‘How much do you owe?’ He said, ‘A hundred cors of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’
“His lord commended the dishonest manager because he had done wisely, for the children of this world are, in their own generation, wiser than the children of the light. (aiōn g165)
I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents. (aiōnios g166)
10 ごく小さなことに忠実な者は，多くのことにも忠実だ。ごく小さなことに不正直な者は，多くのことにも不正直だ。
He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
11 だから，あなた方が不義の富に関して忠実でなかったなら，だれがあなた方に真実の富をゆだねるだろうか。
If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 あなた方が他人のものに関して忠実でなかったなら，だれがあなた方にあなた方自身のものを与えるだろうか。
If you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13 どんな召使いも二人の主人に仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛するか，一方を重んじて他方をさげすむかのどちらかだからだ。あなた方は神と富の両方に仕えることはできない」 。
No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to one and despise the other. You aren’t able to serve God and Mammon.”
14 お金を愛する者であるファリサイ人たちもこれらのすべてのことを聞いていたが，彼らは彼をあざ笑った。
The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, also heard all these things, and they scoffed at him.
15 彼は彼らに言った，「あなた方は人々の面前で自分を義とする者たちだ。だが，神はあなた方の心を知っておられる。人々の間で高くされているものも，神のみ前では嫌悪すべきものだからだ。
He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted amongst men is an abomination in the sight of God.
16 律法と預言者たちとはヨハネに至るまでだった。その時から，神の王国の福音が宣教されており，すべての人がその中に無理にでも入ろうとしている。
“The Torah and the Prophets were until Yochanan. From that time the Good News of God’s Kingdom is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.
17 だが，律法からごく小さな一画が落ちるよりは，天と地の過ぎ行くほうが易しいだろう。
But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tiny stroke of a pen in the Torah to become void.
18 自分の妻を離縁して別の女と結婚する者は，姦淫を犯すのだ。夫から離縁された女と結婚する者は，姦淫を犯すのだ。
“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. He who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.
19 「さて，ある富んだ人がいた。紫の衣と上等の亜麻布を身に着けて，毎日ぜいたくに暮らしていた。
“Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day.
20 その門の前には，ラザロという名のこじきが，できものだらけの身で横たわっていて，
A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was taken to his gate, full of sores,
21 富んだ人の食卓から落ちるパンくずで腹を満たしたいと思っていた。そればかりか，犬たちまでやって来ては，彼のできものをなめていた。
and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 やがて，そのこじきは死んで，み使いたちによってアブラハムの懐に運び去られた。富んだ人も死んで，葬られた。
The beggar died, and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
In Sheol, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
24 彼は叫んで言った，『父アブラハムよ，わたしをあわれんでください。そしてラザロをお遣わしになり，その指先を水に浸して，わたしの舌を冷やすようにさせてください！ わたしはこの炎の中で苦しんでいるからです』。
He cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.’
25 「だが，アブラハムは言った，『子よ，お前は一生の間に自分の良いものを受け，ラザロは同様に悪いものを受けたことを思い出しなさい。だが，今ここでは，彼は慰められ，お前は苦痛のうちにある。
“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But here he is now comforted and you are in anguish.
26 それだけではなく，わたしたちとお前たちとの間には大きな裂け目が設けられていて，ここからお前のところに通って行こうと思う者たちもそれができず，そちらからわたしたちのところに渡って来られる者たちもいないのだ』。
Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, and that no one may cross over from there to us.’
27 「彼は言った，『それではお願いです，父よ，わたしの父の家に彼を遣わしてください。
“He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house—
28 わたしには兄弟が五人いますので，彼らまでこの苦しみの場所に入ることのないように，彼らに対して証言をさせていただきたいのです』。
for I have five brothers—that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’
29 「だが，アブラハムは彼に言った，『彼らにはモーセと預言者たちがいる。その者たちに聞き従えばよい』。
“But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them listen to them.’
30 「彼は言った，『そうではないのです，父アブラハムよ，むしろ，だれかが死んだ者たちの中から行くなら，彼らは悔い改めるでしょう』。
“He said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’
31 「アブラハムは彼に言った，『彼らがモーセと預言者たちに聞き従わないのであれば，だれかが死んだ者たちのなかから生き返ったとしても，彼らが説得されることはないだろう』」 。
“He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’”
