ホセア書 14

1 イスラエルよ汝の神ヱホバに歸れよ汝は不義のために仆れたり

O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

2 汝ら言詞をたづさへ來りヱホバに歸りていへ諸の不義は赦して善ところを受納れたまへ斯て我らは唇をもて牛のごとくに汝に献げん

Take with you words, and turn to Jehovah; say unto him, Forgive all iniquity, and receive [us] graciously; so will we render the calves of our lips.

3 アッスリヤはわれらを授けじ我らは馬に騎らじまたふたたび我儕みづからの手にて作れる者にむかひわが神なりと言じ孤兒は爾によりて憐憫を得べければなりと

Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, [Thou art] our God; because in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

4 我かれらの反逆を醫し悦びて之を愛せん我が怒はかれを離れ去たり

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him.

5 我イスラエルに對しては露のごとくならん彼は百合花のごとく花さきレバノンのごとく根をはらん

I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

6 その枝は茂りひろがり其美麗は橄欖の樹のごとくその芬芳はレバノンのごとくならん

His shoots shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

7 その蔭に住む者かへり來らんかれらは穀物の如く活かへり葡萄樹のごとく花さきその馨香はレバノンの酒のごとくなるべし

They shall return and sit under his shadow; they shall revive [as] corn, and blossom as the vine: the renown thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

8 エフライムはいふ我また偶像と何のあづかる所あらんやと我これに應へたり我かれを顧みん我は蒼翠の松のごとし汝われより果を得ん

Ephraim [shall say], What have I to do any more with idols? (I answer [him], and I will observe him.) I am like a green fir-tree. — From me is thy fruit found.

9 誰か智慧ある者ぞその人はこの事を暁らん誰か頴悟ある者ぞその人は之を知んヱホバの道は凡て直し義者は之を歩む然ど罪人は之に躓かん

Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? intelligent, and he shall know them? For the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the transgressors shall fall therein.
