申命記 25
1 人と人との間に爭辯ありて來りて審判を求むる時は士師これを鞫きその義き者を義とし惡き者を惡とすべし
If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
2 その惡き者もし鞭つべき者ならば士師これを伏せその罪にしたがひて數のごとく自己の前にてこれを扑すべし
And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number.
3 これを扑ことは四十を逾べからず若これを逾て是よりも多く扑ときは汝その汝の兄弟を賤め視にいたらん
Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother should seem vile unto you.
4 穀物を碾す牛に口籠をかく可らず
You shall not suppress the ox when he treads out the corn.
5 兄弟ともに居んにその中の一人死て子を遺さざる時はその死たる者の妻いでて他人に嫁ぐべからず其夫の兄弟これの所に入りこれを娶りて妻となし斯してその夫の兄弟たる道をこれに盡し
If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.
6 而してその婦の生ところの初子をもてその死たる兄弟の後を嗣しめその名をイスラエルの中に絶ざらしむべし
And it shall be, that the firstborn which she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
7 然どその人もしその兄弟の妻をめとることを肯ぜずばその兄弟の妻門にいたりて長老等に言べし吾夫の兄弟はその兄弟の名をイスラエルの中に興ることを肯ぜず吾夫の兄弟たる道を盡すことをせずと
And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuses to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.
8 然る時はその邑の長老等かれを呼よせて諭すべし然るも彼堅く執て我はこれを娶ることを好まずと言ば
Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
9 その兄弟の妻長老等の前にて彼の側にいたりこれが鞋をその足より脱せその面に唾して答て言べしその兄弟の家を興ることを肯ぜざる者には斯のごとくすべきなりと
Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.
10 またその人の名は鞋を脱たる者の家とイスラエルの中に稱へらるべし
And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that has his shoe loosed.
11 人二人あひ爭そふ時に一人の者の妻その夫を撃つ者の手より夫を救はんとて進みより手を伸てその人の陰所を執ふるあらば
When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draws near in order to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that strikes him, and puts forth her hand, and takes him by the secrets:
12 汝その婦の手を切おとすべし之を憫れみ視るべからず
Then you shall cut off her hand, your eye shall not pity her.
13 汝の嚢の中に一箇は大く一箇は小き二種の權衡石をいれおくべからず
You shall not have in your bag divers weights, a great and a small.
14 汝の家に一箇は大く一箇は小き二種の升斗をおくべからず
You shall not have in your house divers measures, a great and a small.
15 唯十分なる公正き權衡を有べくまた十分なる公正き升斗を有べし然せば汝の神ヱホバの汝にたまふ地に汝の日永からん
But you shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shall you have: that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
16 凡て斯る事をなす者凡て正しからざる事をなす者は汝の神ヱホバこれを憎みたまふなり
For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD your God.
17 汝らがエジプトより出きたりし時その路においてアマレクが汝に爲たりし事を記憶よ
Remember what Amalek did unto you by the way, when all of you were come forth out of Egypt;
18 即ち彼らは汝を途に迎へ汝の疲れ倦たるに乗じて汝の後なる弱き者等を攻撃り斯かれらは神を畏れざりき
How he met you by the way, and stroke the hindmost of you, even all that were feeble behind you, when you were faint and weary; and he feared not God.
19 然ば汝の神ヱホバの汝に與へて產業となさしめたまふ地において汝の神ヱホバ汝にその周圍の敵を盡く攻ふせて安泰ならしめたまふに至らば汝アマレクの名を天が下より塗抹て之をおぼゆる者なからしむべし
Therefore it shall be, when the LORD your God has given you rest from all of your enemies round about, in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it, that you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget it.
