アモス書 5

1 イスラエルの家よ我が汝らに對ひて宣る此言を聽け 是は哀歎の歌なり

Hear all of you this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.

2 處女イスラエルは仆れて復起あがらず彼は己の地に扑倒さる 之を扶け起す者なし

The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.

3 主ヱホバかく言たまふ イスラエルの家においては前に千人出たる邑は只百人のみのこり前に百人出たる邑は只十人のみのこらん

For thus says the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.

4 ヱホバかくイスラエルの家に言たまふ 汝ら我を求めよ さらば生べし

For thus says the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek all of you me, and all of you shall live:

5 ベテルを求むるなかれ ギルガルに往なかれ ベエルシバに赴く勿れ ギルガルは必ず擄へられゆきベテルは無に歸せん

But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.

6 汝らヱホバを求めよ 然ば生べし 恐くはヱホバ火のごとくにヨセフの家に落くだりたまひてその火これを燒ん ベテルのためにこれを熄す者一人もあらじ

Seek the LORD, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

7 汝ら公道を茵蔯に變じ正義を地に擲つる者よ

All of you who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,

8 昴宿および參宿を造り死の蔭を變じて朝となし晝を暗くして夜となし海の水を呼て地の面に溢れさする者を求めよ 其名はヱホバといふ

Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

9 彼は滅亡を忽然強者に臨ましむ 滅亡つひに城に臨む

That strengthens the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.

10 彼らは門にありて勸戒る者を惡み正直を言ふ者を忌嫌ふ

They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they detest him that speaks uprightly.

11 汝らは貧き者を踐つけ麥の贐物を之より取る この故に汝らは鑿石の家を建しと雖どもその中に住ことあらじ 美しき葡萄園を作りしと雖どもその酒を飮ことあらじ

Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and all of you take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone, but all of you shall not dwell in them; all of you have planted pleasant vineyards, but all of you shall not drink wine of them.

12 我知る汝らの愆は多く汝らの罪は大なり 汝らは義き者を虐げ賄賂を取り門において貧き者を推抂ぐ

For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.

13 是故に今の時は賢き者默す 是惡き時なればなり

Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

14 汝ら善を求めよ 惡を求めざれ 然らば汝ら生べし また汝らが言ごとく萬軍の神ヱホバ汝らと偕に在さん

Seek good, and not evil, that all of you may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as all of you have spoken.

15 汝ら惡を惡み善を愛し門にて公義を立よ 萬軍の神ヱホバあるひはヨセフの遺れる者を憐れみたまはん

Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.

16 是故に主たる萬軍の神ヱホバかく言たまふ 諸の街衢にて啼ことあらん 諸の大路にて人哀哉哀哉と呼ん 又農夫を呼きたりて哀哭しめ啼女を招きて啼しめん

Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, says thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the farmer to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.

17 また諸の葡萄園にも啼こと有べし 其は我汝らの中を通るべければなり ヱホバこれを言たまふ

And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through you, says the LORD.

18 ヱホバの日を望む者は禍なるかな 汝ら何とてヱホバの日を望むや 是は昏くして光なし

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

19 人獅子の前を逃れて熊に遇ひ又家にいりてその手を壁に附て蛇に咬るるに宛も似たり

As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

20 ヱホバの日は昏くして光なく暗にして耀なきに非ずや

Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

21 我は汝らの節筵を惡みかつ藐視む また汝らの集會を悦ばじ

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

22 汝ら我に燔祭または素祭を獻ぐるとも我之を受納れじ 汝らの肥たる犢の感謝祭は我これを顧みじ

Though all of you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

23 汝らの歌の聲を我前に絶て汝らの琴の音は我これを聽じ

Take you away from me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your viols.

24 公道を水のごとくに正義をつきざる河のごとくに流れしめよ

But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

25 イスラエルの家よ汝らは四十年荒野に居し間犠牲と供物を我に獻げたりしや

Have all of you offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

26 かへつて汝らは汝らの王シクテを負ひ汝らの偶像キウンを負へり 是即ち汝らの神とする星にして汝らの自ら造り設けし者なり

But all of you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which all of you made to yourselves.

27 然ば我汝らをダマスコの外に移さん 萬軍の神ととなふるヱホバこれを言たまふ

Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
