サムエル記Ⅱ 1
1 サウルの死し後ダビデ、アマレク人を撃てかへりチクラグに二日とどまりけるが
Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;
2 第三日に及びて一個の人其衣を裂き頭に土をかむりて陣營より即ちサウルの所より來りダビデの許にいたり地にふして拝せり
It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did reverence.
3 ダビデかれにいひけるは汝いづくより來れるやかれダビデにいひけるはイスラエルの陣營より逃れきたれり
And David said unto him, From whence come you? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.
4 ダビデかれにいひけるは事いかん請ふ我につげよかれこたへけるは民戰に敗れて逃げ民おほく仆れて死りまたサウルと其子ヨナタンも死り
And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray you, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
5 ダビデ其おのれにつぐる少者にいひけるは汝いかにしてサウルと其子ヨナタンの死たるをしるや
And David said unto the young man that told him, How know you that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?
6 ダビデにつぐる少者いひけるは我はからずもギルボア山にのぼり見しにサウル其槍に倚かかりをりて戰車と騎兵かれにせめよらんとせり
And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
7 彼うしろにふりむきて我を見我をよびたれば我こたへて我ここにありといふ
And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.
8 かれ我に汝は誰なるやといひければ我かれにこたへて我はアマレク人なりといふ
And he said unto me, Who are you? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.
9 かれまた我にいひけるはわが身いたく攣ば請ふ我うへにのりて我をころせわが生命なほわれの中にまつたければなりと
He said unto me again, Stand, I pray you, upon me, and slay me: for anguish has come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
10 我すなはちかれの上にのりてかれを殺したり其は我かれが旣に仆て生ることをえざるをしりたればなりしかして我その首にありし冕とその腕にありし釧を取りてこれをわが主に携へきたれり
So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here unto my lord.
11 是においてダビデおのれの衣を執てこれを裂けりまた彼とともにある者も皆しかせり
Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:
12 彼等サウルのためまた其子ヨナタンのためまたヱホバの民のためイスラエルの家のために哭きかなしみて晩まで食を斷り其は彼ら劍にたふれたればなり
And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
13 ダビデおのれに告し少者にいひけるは汝は何處の者なるやかれこたへけるは我は他國の人すなはちアマレク人なりと
And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence are you? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
14 ダビデかれにいひけるは汝なんぞ手をのばしてヱホバの膏そそぎし者をころすことを畏ざりしやと
And David said unto him, How were you not afraid to stretch forth your hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?
15 ダビデ一人の少者をよびていひけるは近よりてかれをころせとすなはちかれをうちければ死り
And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he stroke him that he died.
16 ダビデかれにいひけるは汝の血は汝の首に歸せよ其は汝口づから我ヱホバのあぶらそそぎし者をころせりといひて己にむかひて證をたつればなり
And David said unto him, Your blood be upon your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.
17 ダビデ悲歌をもてサウルと其子ヨナタンを吊ふ
And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:
18 ダビデ命じてこれをユダの族にをしへしむ即ち弓の歌是なり是はヤシル書に記さる
(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)
19 イスラエルよ汝の榮耀は汝の崇邱に殺さる嗚呼勇士は仆れたるかな
The beauty of Israel is slain upon your high places: how are the mighty fallen!
20 此事をガテに告るなかれアシケロンの邑に傳るなかれ恐くはペリシテ人の女等喜ばん恐くは割禮を受ざる者の女等樂み祝はん
Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
21 ギルボアの山よ願は汝の上に雨露降ることあらざれ亦供物の田園もあらざれ其は彼處に勇士の干棄らるればなり即ちサウルの干膏を沃がずして彼處に棄らる
All of you mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.
22 殺せし者の血をのまずしてヨナタンの弓は退かず勇士の脂を食ずしてサウルの劍は空く歸らず
From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.
23 サウルとヨナタンは愛らしく樂げにして生死ともに離れず二人は鷲よりも捷く獅子よりも強かりき
Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
24 イスラエルの女等よサウルのために哀けサウルは絳き衣をもて汝等を華麗に粧ひ金の飾を汝等の衣に着たり
All of you daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.
25 嗚呼勇士は戰の中に仆たるかなヨナタン汝の崇邱に殺されぬ
How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, you were slain in your high places.
26 兄弟ヨナタンよ我汝のために悲慟む汝は大に我に樂き者なりき汝の我をいつくしめる愛は尋常ならず婦の愛にも勝りたり
I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant have you been unto me: your love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.
27 嗚呼勇士は仆たるかな戰の具は失たるかな
How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!
