4 ノア、セム、ハム、ヤペテ

Noah. The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5 ヤベテの子等はゴメル、マゴグ、マデア、ヤワン、トバル、メセク、テラス

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

6 ゴメルの子等はアシケナズ、リパテ、トガルマ

The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

7 ヤワンの子等はエリシヤ、タルシシ、キツテム、ドダニム

The sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.

8 ハムの子等はクシ、ミツライム、プテ、カナン

The sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 クシの子等はセバ、ハビラ、サブタ、ラアマ、サブテカ、ラアマの子等はセバとデダン

The sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan.

10 クシ、ニムロデを生り彼はじめて世の權力ある者となれり

Cush became the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty hunter on the earth.

11 ミツライムはルデ族アナミ族レハビ族ナフト族

Mizraim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

12 パテロス族カスル族カフトリ族を生りカスル族よりペリシテ族出たり

and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (from whom came the Philistines), and Caphtorim.

13 カナンその冢子シドンおよびヘテを生み

Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

14 またヱブス族アモリ族ギルガシ族

and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites,

15 ヒビ族アルキ族セニ族

and the Hivites, and the Arkites, and the Sinites,

16 アルワデ族ゼマリ族ハマテ族を生り

and the Arvadites, and the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.

17 セムの子等はエラム、アシユル、アルバクサデ、ルデ、アラム、ウズ、ホル、ゲテル、メセク

The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram. And the sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

18 アルバクサデ、シラを生みシラ、エベルを生り

Arpachshad became the father of Kenan, and Kenan became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.

19 エベルに二人の子生れたりその一人の名をベレグ(分)と曰ふ其は彼の代に地の人散り分れたればなりその弟の名をヨクタンと曰ふ

To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

20 ヨクタンはアルモダデ、シヤレフ、ハザルマウテ、ヱラ

Joktan became the father of Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

21 ハドラム、ウザル、デクラ

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 エバル、アビマエル、シバ

and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

23 オフル、ハビラおよびヨハブを生り是等はみなヨクタンの子なり

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

24 セム、アルバクサデ、シラ

Shem, Arpachshad, Kenan, Shelah,

25 エベル、ベレグ、リウ

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

26 セルグ、ナホル、テラ

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 アブラム是すなはちアブラハムなり

Abram (that is, Abraham).

28 アブラハムの子等はイサクおよびイシマエル

The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishmael.

29 彼らの子孫は左のごとしイシマエルの冢子はネバヨテ次はケダル、アデビエル、ミブサム

These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

30 ミシマ、ドマ、マツサ、ハダデ、テマ

Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

31 ヱトル、ネフシ、ケデマ、イシマエルの子孫は是の如し

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 アブラハムの妾ケトラの生る子は左のごとし彼ジムラン、ヨクシヤン、メダン、ミデアン、イシバク、シユワを生りヨクシヤンの子等はシバおよびデダン

The sons of Keturah, Abraham's secondary wife: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.

33 ミデアンの子等はエバ、エペル、ヘノク、アビダ、エルダア是等はみなケトラの生る子なり

The sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34 アブラハム、イサクを生りイザクの子等はヱサウとイスラエル

Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau, and Israel.

35 エサウの子等はエリバズ、リウエル、ヱウシ、ヤラム、コラ

The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.

36 エリバズの子等はテマン、オマル、ゼビ、ガタム、ケナズ、テムナ、アマレク

The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, Kenaz; and by Timna: Amalek.

37 リウエルの子等はナハテ、ゼラ、シヤンマ、ミツザ

The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 セイの子等はロタン、シヨバル、ヂベオン、アナ、デシヨン、エゼル、デシヤン

The sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

39 ロタンの子等はホリとホマム、ロタンの妹はテムナ

The sons of Lotan: Hori, and Hemam; and Timna was Lotan's sister.

40 シヨバルの子等はアルヤン、マナハテ、エバル、シピ、オナム、ヂベオンの子等はアヤとアナ

The sons of Shobal: Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah.

41 アナの子等はデシヨン、デシヨンの子等はハムラム、エシバン、イテラン、ケラン、

The sons of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Keran.

42 エゼルの子等はビルハン、ザワン、ヤカン、デシヤンの子等はウズおよびアラン

The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.

43 イスラエルの子孫を治むる王いまだ有ざる前にエドムの地を治めたる王等は左のごとしベオルの子ベラその都城の名はデナバといふ

Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 ベラ薨てボズラのゼラの子ヨバブこれに代りて王となり

Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.

45 ヨバブ薨てテマン人の地のホシヤムこれにかはりて王となり

Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

46 ホシヤム薨てベダデの子ハダデこれにかはりて王となれり彼モアブの野にてミデアン人を撃りその都城の名はアビテといふ

Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.

47 ハダデ薨てマスレカのサムラこれに代りて王となり

Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.

48 サムラ薨て河の旁なるレホボテのサウルこれに代りて王となり

Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth-ha-Nahar reigned in his place.

49 サウル薨てアクボルの子バアルハナンこれに代りて王となり

Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.

50 バアルハナン薨てハダデこれにかはりて王となれりその都城の名はパイといふその妻はマテレデの女子にして名をメヘタベルといへりマテレデはメザハブの女なり

Baal Hanan died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.

51 ハダデも薨たり／エドムの諸侯は左のごとし、テムナ侯アルヤ侯ヱテテ侯

Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,

52 アホリバマ侯エラ侯ピノン侯

chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

53 ケナズ侯テマン侯ミブザル侯

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54 マグデエル侯イラム侯エドムの諸侯は是のごとし

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
