Giobbe 25

1 Allora Bildad di Suach rispose e disse:

Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,

2 “A Dio appartiene il dominio e il terrore: egli fa regnare la pace ne’ suoi luoghi altissimi.

“Dominion and fear are with him. He makes peace in his high places.

3 Le sue legioni si posson forse contare? Su chi non si leva la sua luce?

Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?

4 Come può dunque l’uomo esser giusto dinanzi a Dio? Come può esser puro il nato dalla donna?

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

5 Ecco, la luna stessa manca di chiarore, e le stelle non son pure agli occhi di lui;

Behold, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight;

6 quanto meno l’uomo, ch’è un verme, il figliuol d’uomo ch’è un vermicciuolo!”

How much less man, who is a worm, and the son of man, who is a worm!”
