2 Samuele 19

1 Or vennero a dire a Joab: “Ecco, il re piange e fa cordoglio a motivo di Absalom”.

And it was told to Joab here! the king [is] weeping and he mourned on Absalom.

2 E la vittoria in quel giorno si cangiò in lutto per tutto il popolo, perché il popolo sentì dire in quel giorno: “Il re è molto afflitto a cagione del suo figliuolo”.

And it became the deliverance on the day that mourning for all the people for it heard the people on the day that saying he is grieved the king on son his.

3 E il popolo in quel giorno rientrò furtivamente in città, com’avrebbe fatto gente coperta di vergogna per esser fuggita in battaglia.

And it acted stealthily the people on the day that to enter the city just as it acts stealthily people who are ashamed when flee they in battle.

4 E il re s’era coperto la faccia, e ad alta voce gridava: “Absalom figliuol mio! Absalom figliuol mio, figliuol mio!”

And the king he covered face his and he cried out the king a voice great O son my Absalom Absalom son my son my.

5 Allora Joab entrò in casa dal re, e disse: “Tu copri oggi di rossore il volto di tutta la tua gente, che in questo giorno ha salvato la vita a te, ai tuoi figliuoli, e alle tue figliuole alle tue mogli e alle tue concubine,

And he went Joab to the king the house and he said you have put to shame this day [the] faces of all servants your who rescued life your this day and [the] life of sons your and daughters your and [the] life of wives your and [the] life of concubines your.

6 giacché ami quelli che t’odiano, e odi quelli che t’amano; infatti oggi tu fai vedere che capitani e soldati per te son nulla; e ora io vedo bene che se Absalom fosse vivo e noi fossimo quest’oggi tutti morti, allora saresti contento.

By loving [those who] hate you and by hating [those who] love you that - you have made known this day that not [are] to you commanders and servants that - I know this day that (if *QK) Absalom [were] alive and all of us this day [were] dead that then [it would be] right in eyes your.

7 Or dunque lèvati, esci, e parla al cuore della tua gente; perché io giuro per l’Eterno che, se non esci, neppure un uomo resterà con te questa notte; e questa sarà per te sventura maggiore di tutte quelle che ti son cadute addosso dalla tua giovinezza fino a oggi”.

And therefore arise go out and speak to [the] heart of servants your for by Yahweh I swear that not you [are] coming out if he will lodge a man with you this night and it will be bad for you this more than all the harm which it has come on you since youth your until now.

8 Allora il re si levò e si pose a sedere alla porta; e ne fu dato l’annunzio a tutto il popolo, dicendo: “Ecco il re sta assiso alla porta”. E tutto il popolo venne in presenza del re. Or quei d’Israele se n’eran fuggiti, ognuno nella sua tenda;

And he arose the king and he sat in the gate and to all the people people told saying here! the king [is] sitting in the gate and it came all the people before the king and Israel it had fled each to tents his.

9 e in tutte le tribù d’Israele tutto il popolo stava discutendo, e dicevano: “Il re ci ha liberati dalle mani dei nostri nemici e ci ha salvati dalle mani de’ Filistei; e ora ha dovuto fuggire dal paese a cagione di Absalom;

And it was all the people quarrelling in all [the] tribes of Israel saying the king he delivered us - from [the] hand of enemies our and he he rescued us from [the] hand of [the] Philistines and now he has fled from the land from with Absalom.

10 e Absalom, che noi avevamo unto perché regnasse su noi, è morto in battaglia; perché dunque non parlate di far tornare il re?”

And Absalom whom we anointed over us he has died in the battle and therefore why? [are] you keeping silent to bring back the king.

11 E il re Davide mandò a dire ai sacerdoti Tsadok ed Abiathar: “Parlate agli anziani di Giuda, e dite loro: Perché sareste voi ultimi a ricondurre il re a casa sua? I discorsi che si tengono in tutto Israele sono giunti fino alla casa del re.

And the king David he sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests saying speak to [the] elders of Judah saying why? will you be [the] last [people] to bring back the king to house his and [the] word of all Israel it had come to the king to house his.

12 Voi siete miei fratelli, siete mie ossa e mia carne; perché dunque sareste gli ultimi a far tornare il re?

[are] brothers My you [are] bone my and flesh my you and why? will you be [the] last [people] to bring back the king.

13 E dite ad Amasa: Non sei tu mie ossa e mia carne? Iddio mi tratti con tutto il suo rigore, se tu non diventi per sempre capo dell’esercito, invece di Joab”.

And to Amasa you will say ¿ not bone my and flesh my [are] you thus may he do to me God and thus may he add if not commander of [the] army you will be before me all the days in place of Joab.

14 Così Davide piegò il cuore di tutti gli uomini di Giuda, come se fosse stato il cuore di un sol uomo; ed essi mandarono a dire al re: “Ritorna tu con tutta la tua gente”.

And he turned [the] heart of every man of Judah like a man one and they sent to the king return you and all servants your.

15 Il re dunque tornò, e giunse al Giordano; e quei di Giuda vennero a Ghilgal per andare incontro al re, e per fargli passare il Giordano.

And he returned the king and he came to the Jordan and Judah it came Gilgal towards to go to meet the king to bring over the king the Jordan.

16 Shimei, figliuolo di Ghera, Beniaminita, ch’era di Bahurim, si affrettò a scendere con gli uomini di Giuda incontro al re Davide.

And he hurried Shimei [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite who [was] from Bahurim and he came down with [the] man of Judah to meet the king David.

17 Egli avea seco mille uomini di Beniamino, Tsiba, servo della casa di Saul, coi suoi quindici figliuoli e i suoi venti servi. Essi passarono il Giordano davanti al re.

And one thousand man [were] with him of Benjamin and Ziba [the] servant of [the] house of Saul and five teen sons his and twenty servants his [were] with him and they rushed ahead the Jordan before the king.

18 La chiatta che dovea tragittare la famiglia del re e tenersi a sua disposizione, passò; e Shimei, figliuolo di Ghera, prostratosi dinanzi al re, nel momento in cui questi stava per passare il Giordano,

And it passed over the ford to bring over [the] household of the king and to do the good (in eyes his *QK) and Shimei [the] son of Gera he fell before the king when passed he in the Jordan.

19 gli disse: “Non tenga conto, il mio signore, della mia iniquità, e dimentichi la perversa condotta tenuta dal suo servo il giorno in cui il re mio signore usciva da Gerusalemme, e non ne serbi il re risentimento!

And he said to the king may not he reckon to me lord my guilt and may not you remember [that] which he did perversely servant your on the day when he went out lord my the king from Jerusalem to put [it] the king to heart his.

20 Poiché il tuo servo riconosce che ha peccato; e per questo sono stato oggi il primo di tutta la casa di Giuseppe a scendere incontro al re mio signore”.

For he knows servant your that I I have sinned and here! I have come this day first of all [the] house of Joseph to come down to meet lord my the king.

21 Ma Abishai, figliuolo di Tseruia, prese a dire: “Nonostante questo, Shimei non dev’egli morire per aver maledetto l’unto dell’Eterno?”

And he answered Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah and he said ¿ in place of this not will he be put to death Shimei for he cursed [the] [one] anointed of Yahweh.

22 E Davide disse: “Che ho io da fare con voi, o figliuoli di Tseruia, che vi mostrate oggi miei avversari? Si farebb’egli morir oggi qualcuno in Israele? Non so io dunque che oggi divento re d’Israele?”

And he said David what? [is] to me and to you O sons of Zeruiah that you will become to me this day an adversary this day will he be put to death? anyone in Israel for ¿ not do I know that this day I [am] king over Israel.

23 E il re disse a Shimei: “Tu non morrai!” E il re glielo giurò.

And he said the king to Shimei not you will die and he swore an oath to him the king.

24 Mefibosheth, nipote di Saul, scese anch’egli incontro al re. Ei non s’era puliti i piedi, né spuntata la barba, né lavate le vesti dal giorno in cui il re era partito fino a quello in cui tornava in pace.

And Mephibosheth [the] son of Saul he went down to meet the king and not he had done feet his and not he had done moustache his and clothes his not he had washed from the day went the king until the day when he came in peace.

25 E quando fu giunto da Gerusalemme per incontrare il re, il re gli disse: “Perché non venisti meco, Mefibosheth?”

And it was that he came Jerusalem to meet the king and he said to him the king why? not did you go with me O Mephibosheth.

26 Quegli rispose: “O re, mio signore, il mio servo m’ingannò; perché il tuo servo, che è zoppo, avea detto: Io mi farò sellar l’asino, monterò, e andrò col re.

And he said O lord my the king servant my he betrayed me for he said servant your let me saddle for myself the donkey so I may ride on it so I may go with the king for [is] lame servant your.

27 Ed egli ha calunniato il tuo servo presso il re mio signore; ma il re mio signore è come un angelo di Dio; fa’ dunque ciò che ti piacerà.

And he has slandered servant your to lord my the king and lord my the king [is] like [the] angel of God and do the good in eyes your.

28 Poiché tutti quelli della casa di mio padre non avrebbero meritato dal re mio signore altro che la morte; e, nondimeno, tu avevi posto il tuo servo fra quelli che mangiano alla tua mensa. E qual altro diritto poss’io avere? E perché continuerei io a supplicare il re?”

For not it was all [the] house of father my that except men of death to lord my the king and you put servant your among [those who] eat table your and what? [is] there for me still righteousness and to cry out still to the king.

29 E il re gli disse: “Non occorre che tu aggiunga altre parole. L’ho detto; tu e Tsiba dividetevi le terre”.

And he said to him the king why? are you speaking still words your I say you and Ziba you will divide the field.

30 E Mefibosheth rispose al re: “Si prenda pur egli ogni cosa, giacché il re mio signore è tornato in pace a casa sua”.

And he said Mephibosheth to the king also everything let him take after that he has come lord my the king in peace to house his.

31 Or Barzillai, il Galaadita, scese da Roghelim, e passò il Giordano col re per accompagnarlo di là dal Giordano.

And Barzillai the Gileadite he had come down from Rogelim and he passed over with the king the Jordan to send off him (the Jordan. *QK)

32 Barzillai era molto vecchio; aveva ottant’anni, ed avea fornito i viveri al re mentre questi si trovava a Mahanaim; poiché era molto facoltoso.

And Barzillai he was old very a son of eighty year[s] and he he had supplied the king in dwelling his in Mahanaim for [was] a man great he very.

33 Il re disse a Barzillai: “Vieni con me oltre il fiume; io provvederò al tuo sostentamento a casa mia a Gerusalemme”.

And he said the king to Barzillai you pass over with me and I will supply you with me in Jerusalem.

34 Ma Barzillai rispose al re: “Troppo pochi son gli anni che mi resta da vivere perch’io salga col re a Gerusalemme.

And he said Barzillai to the king how many? [are] [the] days of [the] years of life my that I will go up with the king Jerusalem.

35 Io ho adesso ottant’anni: posso io ancora discernere ciò ch’è buono da ciò che è cattivo? Può il tuo servo gustare ancora ciò che mangia o ciò che beve? Posso io udire ancora la voce dei cantori e delle cantatrici? E perché dunque il tuo servo sarebb’egli d’aggravio al re mio signore?

[am] a son of Eighty year[s] I this day ¿ do I know - between good and evil or? will he taste servant your [that] which I will eat and [that] which I will drink or? will I hear still [the] voice of [male] singers and female singers and why? will he become servant your still a burden to lord my the king.

36 Solo per poco tempo andrebbe il tuo servo oltre il Giordano col re; e perché il re vorrebb’egli rimunerarmi con un cotal beneficio?

Like a little he will pass over servant your the Jordan with the king and why? will he reward me the king the reward this.

37 Deh, lascia che il tuo servo se ne ritorni indietro, e ch’io possa morire nella mia città presso la tomba di mio padre e di mia madre! Ma ecco il tuo servo Kimham; passi egli col re mio signore, e fa’ per lui quello che ti piacerà”.

Let him return please servant your so I may die in own city my near [the] grave of father my and mother my and here! - servant your Kimham let him pass over with lord my the king and do for him [that] which it is good in eyes your.

38 Il re rispose: “Venga meco Kimham, e io farò per lui quello che a te piacerà; e farò per te tutto quello che desidererai da me”.

And he said the king with me he will pass over Kimham and I I will do for him the good in eyes your and all that you will choose on me I will do for you.

39 E quando tutto il popolo ebbe passato il Giordano e l’ebbe passato anche il re, il re baciò Barzillai e lo benedisse, ed egli se ne tornò a casa sua.

And it passed over all the people the Jordan and the king he passed over and he kissed the king Barzillai and he blessed him and he returned to own place his.

40 Così il re passò oltre, e andò a Ghilgal; e Kimham lo accompagnò. Tutto il popolo di Giuda e anche la metà del popolo d’Israele aveano fatto scorta al re.

And he passed over the king Gilgal towards and Kimhan he passed over with him and all [the] people of Judah (they brought over *QK) the king and also half of [the] people of Israel.

41 Allora tutti gli altri Israeliti vennero dal re e gli dissero: “Perché i nostri fratelli, gli uomini di Giuda, ti hanno portato via di nascosto, e hanno fatto passare il Giordano al re, alla sua famiglia e a tutta la gente di Davide?”

And there! every man of Israel [were] coming to the king and they said to the king why? did they steal you brothers our [the] man of Judah and they brought over the king and household his the Jordan and all [the] men of David with him.

42 E tutti gli uomini di Giuda risposero agli uomini d’Israele: “Perché il re appartiene a noi più dappresso; e perché vi adirate voi per questo? Abbiam noi mangiato a spese del re? O abbiam noi ricevuto qualche regalo?”

And he answered every man of Judah to [the] man of Israel for [is] close the king to me and why? this has it burned to you on the matter this ¿ really have we eaten from the king or? really has it been taken away by us.

43 E gli uomini d’Israele risposero agli uomini di Giuda: “Il re appartiene a noi dieci volte più che a voi, e quindi Davide è più nostro che vostro; perché dunque ci avete disprezzati? Non siamo stati noi i primi a proporre di far tornare il nostro re?” Ma il parlare degli uomini di Giuda fu più violento di quello degli uomini d’Israele.

And he answered [the] man of Israel [the] man of Judah and he said ten hands [belong] to me in the king and also in David I more than you and why? did you treat with contempt me and not was it word my first of me to bring back king my and it was hard [the] word of [the] man of Judah more than [the] word of [the] man of Israel.
