10 Cush generò Nimrod, che cominciò ad esser potente sulla terra.

11 Mitsraim generò i Ludim, gli Anamim, i Lehabim, i Naftuhim,

17 Figliuoli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arpacshad, Lud e Aram; Uz, Hul, Ghether e Mescec.

18 Arpacshad generò Scelah, e Scelah generò Eber.

— And Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber.

19 Ad Eber nacquero due figliuoli: il nome dell’uno fu Peleg, perché ai suoi giorni la terra fu spartita; e il nome del suo fratello fu Joktan.

And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

20 Joktan generò Almodad, Scelef, Hatsarmaveth, Jerah,

21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,

22 Ebal, Abimael, Sceba, Ofir, Havila e Jobab.

23 Tutti questi furono figliuoli di Joktan.

and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were sons of Joktan.

24 Sem, Arpacshad, Scelah,

28 Figliuoli di Abrahamo: Isacco e Ismaele.

The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.

These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam;

31 Jetur, Nafish e Kedma. Questi furono i figliuoli d’Ismaele.

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedmah: those are the sons of Ishmael.

32 Figliuoli di Ketura, concubina d’Abrahamo: essa partorì Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Madian, Jishbak e Shuach. Figliuoli di Jokshan: Sceba e Dedan.

— And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33 Figliuoli di Madian: Efa, Efer, Hanoch, Abida ed Eldaa. Tutti questi furono i figliuoli di Ketura.

And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

34 Abrahamo generò Isacco. Figliuoli d’Isacco: Esaù e Israele.

And Abraham begot Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35 Figliuoli di Esaù: Elifaz, Reuel, Ieush, Ialam e Korah.

The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

36 Figliuoli di Elifaz: Teman, Omar, Tsefi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna ed Amalek.

39 Figliuoli di Lotan: Hori e Homam; e la sorella di Lotan fu Timna.

— The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. — And the sons of Zibeon: Ajah and Anah.

41 Figliuoli di Ana: Dishon. Figliuoli di Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Jthran e Keran.

— The sons of Anah: Dishon. — And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Jithran, and Cheran.

42 Figliuoli di Etser: Bilhan, Zaavan, Jaakan. Figliuoli di Dishon: Uts e Aran.

— The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, [and] Jaakan. — The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 Questi sono i re che regnarono nel paese di Edom prima che alcun re regnasse sui figliuoli d’Israele: Bela, figliuolo di Beor; e il nome della sua città fu Dinhaba.

And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned a king over the children of Israel: — Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 Bela morì e Jobab, figliuolo di Zerach, di Botsra, regnò in luogo suo.

And Bela died; and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

45 Jobab morì, e Husham, del paese de’ Temaniti, regnò in luogo suo.

And Jobab died; and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 Husham morì, e Hadad, figliuolo di Bedad, che sconfisse i Madianiti ne’ campi di Moab, regnò in luogo suo; e il nome della sua città era Avith.

And Husham died; and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the fields of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

47 Hadad morì, e Samla, di Masreka, regnò in luogo suo.

And Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 Samla morì, e Saul di Rehoboth sul Fiume, regnò in luogo suo.

And Samlah died; and Saul of Rehoboth on the river reigned in his stead.

49 Saul morì, e Baal-Hanan, figliuolo di Acbor, regnò in luogo suo.

And Saul died; and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

50 Baal-Hanan morì, e Hadad regnò in luogo suo. Il nome della sua città fu Pai, e il nome della sua moglie, Mehetabeel, figliuola di Matred, figliuola di Mezahab.

And Baal-hanan died; and Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.

51 E Hadad morì. I capi di Edom furono: il capo Timna, il capo Alva, il capo Ietheth,

And Hadad died. And the chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,

52 il capo Oholibama, il capo Ela, il capo Pinon,

chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

53 il capo Kenaz, il capo Teman, il capo Mibtsar,

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

54 il capo Magdiel, il capo Iram. Questi sono i capi di Edom.

chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.
