Romani 9
1 IO dico verità in Cristo, io non mento, rendendomene insieme testimonianza la mia coscienza per lo Spirito Santo:
I say the truth in Meshiha, and lie not; my conscience witnesseth for me in the Spirit of Holiness,
2 che io ho gran tristezza, e continuo dolore nel cuor mio.
that I have great grief, and (that) the sorrow of my heart ceaseth not.
3 Perciocchè desidererei d'essere io stesso anatema, [riciso] da Cristo, per li miei fratelli, miei parenti secondo la carne;
For I could pray that I myself might be one accursed from Meshiha instead of my brethren and my kinsmen who are in the flesh;
4 i quali sono Israeliti, de' quali [è] l'adottazione, e la gloria, e i patti, e la costituzion della legge, e il servigio divino, e le promesse;
who are the sons of Israel, and whose was the adoption of sons, and the glory, and the covenants, and the law, and the ministry, and the promises,
5 de' quali [sono] i padri, e de' quali [è uscito], secondo la carne, il Cristo, il quale è sopra tutti Iddio benedetto in eterno. Amen. (aiōn g165)
and the fathers; and from whom appeared the Meshiha in the flesh, who is Aloha over all: his be praises and benedictions to the age of ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 TUTTAVIA non è che la parola di Dio sia caduta [a terra]; poichè non tutti coloro che [son] d'Israele, [sono] Israele.
FOR the word of Aloha hath not really fallen: for not all who are of Israel are Israel;
7 Ed anche, perchè son progenie d'Abrahamo, non [sono però] tutti figliuoli; anzi: In Isacco ti sarà nominata progenie.
neither also are they who are of the seed of Abraham all children; because it was said, In Ishok shall be called unto thee the seed:
8 Cioè: non quelli che sono i figliuoli della carne, son figliuoli di Dio; ma i figliuoli della promessa son reputati per progenie.
but that is, the children of the flesh are not the children of Aloha, but the children of the promise are reckoned the seed.
9 Perciocchè questa [fu] la parola della promessa: In questa medesima stagione io verrò, e Sara avrà un figliuolo.
For the promise is this word, In this time I will come, and a son shall be unto Sara.
10 E non solo [Abrahamo], ma ancora Rebecca, avendo conceputo d'un medesimo, [cioè] d'Isacco nostro padre, [udì questo].
And not this only, but also Raphka when with one, our father Ishok, she had association,
11 Perciocchè, non essendo ancor nati [i figliuoli], e non avendo fatto bene o male alcuno (acciocchè il proponimento di Dio secondo l'elezione dimorasse fermo, non per le opere, ma per colui che chiama), le fu detto:
before her sons were born, and had not wrought good or evil, the (choice) of Aloha was (made) known before that it should remain: not by works, but by him who called:
12 Il maggiore servirà al minore,
for it was said, The elder shall be servant to the less;
13 secondo ch'egli è scritto: Io ho amato Giacobbe, ed ho odiato Esaù.
as it is written, Jakub have I loved, and Isu have I hated.
14 Che diremo adunque? [Evvi egli] iniquità in Dio? [Così] non sia.
What then say we? Is there iniquity with Aloha? Not so:
15 Perciocchè egli dice a Mosè: Io avrò mercè di chi avrò mercè, e farò misericordia a chi farò misericordia.
behold, also, he said unto Musha, I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy, and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious.
16 Egli non è adunque di chi vuole, nè di chi corre, ma di Dio che fa misericordia.
Therefore it is not by him who willeth, nor by him who runneth, but by Aloha the Merciful.
17 Poichè la scrittura dice a Faraone: Per questo stesso ti ho suscitato, per mostrare in te la mia potenza, ed acciocchè il mio nome sia predicato per tutta la terra.
For it is said in the scripture to Pherun, For this I have raised thee up, that I might show in thee my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
18 Così, egli fa misericordia a chi egli vuole, e indura chi egli vuole.
Then upon whom he willeth he is merciful, and whom he willeth he hardeneth.
19 Tu mi dirai adunque: Perchè si cruccia egli ancora? perciocchè, chi può resistere alla sua volontà?
Perhaps thou wilt say, Of what then doth he complain; for who shall arise against his will?
20 Anzi, o uomo, chi sei tu, che replichi a Dio? la cosa formata dirà ella al formatore: Perchè mi hai fatta così?
Who then art thou, O man, who givest answer against Aloha? Will the mass say to him who formeth it, Why thus hast thou formed me?
21 Non ha il vasellaio la podestà sopra l'argilla, da fare d'una medesima massa un vaso ad onore, ed un altro a disonore?
Or, hath not the potter power over his clay, that from the (same) mass he might make vessels, the one to honour, and the other to vileness?
22 Quanto meno se, volendo Iddio mostrar la [sua] ira, e far conoscere il suo potere, pure ha comportati con molta pazienza i vasi dell'ira, composti a perdizione?
BUT if Aloha, willing to reveal his wrath, and to make known his power, in his much patience bore with the vessels of wrath who were perfected for destruction,
23 Acciocchè ancora facesse conoscere le ricchezze della sua gloria sopra i vasi della misericordia, i quali egli ha innanzi preparati a gloria?
and poured his mercy upon the vessels of mercy who were prepared of Aloha for glory,
24 I quali eziandio ha chiamati, [cioè] noi, non sol d'infra i Giudei, ma anche d'infra i Gentili.
who are we, (ourselves) the called, not only of the Jihudoyee, but also of the Gentiles:
25 Siccome ancora egli dice in Osea: Io chiamerò Mio popolo, quel che non è mio popolo; ed Amata, quella che non è amata.
so also in Husha he said, I will call them my people who were not my people, and on those on whom I was not merciful, will I be merciful:
26 Ed avverrà che là dove era loro stato detto: Voi non [siete] mio popolo, saranno chiamati Figliuoli dell'Iddio vivente.
for it shall be in the place where they were not called my people, there shall they be called the children of Aloha the Living.
27 Ma Isaia sclama intorno ad Israele: Avvegnachè il numero de' figliuoli d'Israele fosse come la rena del mare, il rimanente [solo] sarà salvato.
But Eshaia proclaims of the sons of Israel: Though the number of the sons of Israel were as the sand which is on the sea, the residue of them shall be saved.
28 Perciocchè [il Signore] definisce e decide il fatto con giustizia; il Signore farà una decisione sopra la terra.
The Lord hath decreed and determined the word, and will perform it upon the earth.
29 E come Isaia avea innanzi detto: Se il Signor degli eserciti non ci avesse lasciato [qualche] seme, saremmo divenuti come Sodoma, e simili a Gomorra.
And as that which Eshaia had said before: Unless the Lord of sebaoth had left to us a residue, as Sedum should we have been, and to Amura have been likened.
30 Che diremo adunque? Che i Gentili, che non procacciavano la giustizia, hanno ottenuta la giustizia; anzi la giustizia che [è] per la fede.
WHAT then shall we say? That the Gentiles who have not followed after righteousness have attained righteousness, but that righteousness which is of faith:
31 Ma che Israele, che procacciava la legge della giustizia non è pervenuto alla legge della giustizia.
but Israel, who followed after the law of righteousness, unto the law of righteousness have not attained.
32 Perchè? perciocchè egli non [l'ha procacciata] per la fede, ma come per le opere della legge; perciocchè si sono intoppati nella pietra dell'intoppo.
For why? Because it was not by faith, but by the works of the law: for they stumbled at the stone of stumbling;
33 Siccome è scritto: Ecco, io pongo in Sion una pietra d'intoppo, ed un sasso d'incappo; ma chiunque crede in esso non sarà svergognato.
as it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling And a rock of offence; And whosoever in him shall believe Shall not be ashamed.
