Apocalisse 10
1 POI vidi un altro possente angelo, che scendeva dal cielo, intorniato d'una nuvola, sopra il capo del quale [era] l'arco celeste; e la sua faccia [era] come il sole, e i suoi piedi come colonne di fuoco;
[In the vision] I saw another mighty angel that was coming down out of heaven. A cloud [surrounded him]. There was a rainbow over his head. His face [shone] [SIM] like the sun. His legs looked like pillars of fire.
2 ed avea in mano un libretto aperto; ed egli posò il suo piè destro in sul mare, e il sinistro in su la terra;
He had in his hand a small scroll that was open. He set his right foot on the ocean and his left foot on the land.
3 e gridò con gran voce, nella maniera che rugge il leone; e quando ebbe gridato, i sette tuoni proferirono le lor voci.
He shouted something with a loud voice, a voice like the roar of a lion. When he shouted this, it thundered seven [times], speaking [words that I could understand].
4 E quando i sette tuoni ebbero proferite le lor voci, io era pronto per iscriverle, ma io udii una voce dal cielo, che mi disse: Suggella le cose che i sette tuoni hanno proferite, e non iscriverle.
When it thundered [like that], I was about to write [the words that I] heard, but a voice from heaven said to me, “Keep secret what the thunder said! Do not write it down!”
5 E l'angelo, il quale io avea veduto stare in piè in sul mare, e in su la terra, levò la man destra al cielo;
Then the angel whom I had seen standing on the ocean and the land raised his right hand toward heaven,
6 e giurò per colui che vive ne' secoli de' secoli, il quale ha creato il cielo, e le cose che [sono] in esso; e la terra, e le cose che [sono] in essa; e il mare, e le cose che [sono] in esso, che non vi sarebbe più tempo. (aiōn g165)
and he asked the one who lives forever, the one who created heaven and everything that is in it, [who created] the earth and everything that is in it, and [who created] the ocean and everything that is in it, to affirm that what he said was true. [He said that he] would surely no longer delay [what he had planned to do]. (aiōn g165)
7 Ma, che al tempo del suono del settimo angelo, quando egli sonerebbe, si compierebbe il segreto di Dio, il quale egli ha annunziato a' suoi servitori profeti.
He said that when the time [came] for the seventh angel to blow his trumpet, [he] would complete what God had secretly planned, just like he announced [long ago] to his servants, the prophets.
8 E la voce che io avea udita dal cielo parlò di nuovo meco, e disse: Va', prendi il libretto aperto, [che è] in mano dell'angelo, che sta in sul mare, e in su la terra.
The one whose voice I had heard from heaven spoke to me again. He said, “Go and take the open scroll from the hand of the angel who is standing on the ocean and on the land.”
9 Ed io andai a quell'angelo, dicendogli: Dammi il libretto. Ed egli mi disse: Prendi[lo], e divoralo; ed esso ti recherà amaritudine al ventre; ma nella tua bocca sarà dolce come miele.
So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. In your mouth it will [taste] sweet like honey, but it will make your stomach bitter.”
10 Ed io presi il libretto di mano dell'angelo, e lo divorai; e mi fu dolce in bocca, come miele; ma, quando l'ebbi divorato, il mio ventre sentì amaritudine.
I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. In my mouth it [tasted] sweet like honey, but when I had eaten it, [it] made my stomach turn sour.
11 Ed egli mi disse: Ei ti bisogna di nuovo profetizzare contro a molti popoli, e nazioni, e lingue, e re.
The one whose [voice spoke from heaven said to me], “You must (prophesy again/proclaim again what I will reveal to you) about many people-[groups], many nations, [speakers of] many languages [MTY], and many kings.”
