Salmi 87

1 Salmo di Cantico de' figliuoli di Core LA fondazione del Signore[è] ne' monti santi.

“By the sons of Korach; a psalm or song.” It is founded by him on holy mountains.

2 Il Signore ama le porte di Sion, Sopra tutte le stanze di Giacobbe.

The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

3 O Città di Dio, Cose gloriose son dette di te. (Sela)

Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

4 Io mentoverò, [dice al Signore], Rahab, e Babilonia, Fra quelli che mi conoscono; Ecco, i Filistei ed i Tiri insieme con gli Etiopi, [De' quali si dirà: ] Costui è nato quivi.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as those that know me; behold, here is Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: “This man was born there.”

5 E si dirà di Sion: Questi e quegli è nato in essa; E l'Altissimo stesso la stabilirà.

But of Zion will it be said, “This and that man were born in her:” and the Most High himself doth establish her.

6 Il Signore, rassegnando i popoli, annovererà [coloro], [Dicendo: ] Un tale è nato quivi. (Sela)

The Lord will number when he writeth down nations. “This man was born there.” (Selah)

7 E cantori, e suonatori, E tutte le mie fonti, [saranno] in te.

And the singers as well as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs [of joy] are in thee.
