Salmi 75
1 Salmo di cantico di Asaf, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, [sopra] Al-tashet NOI ti celebriamo, noi ti celebriamo, o Dio; Perciocchè il tuo Nome [è] vicino; L'uomo racconta le tue maraviglie.
For the music director. A psalm of Asaph. According to “Do Not Destroy.” A song. We thank you, God, we thank you because you are close beside us. People tell about the wonderful things you have done.
2 Al tempo che avrò fissato, Io giudicherò dirittamente.
God says, “When the time I have decided comes, I will judge fairly.
3 Il paese e tutti i suoi abitanti si struggevano; [Ma] io ho rizzate le sue colonne. (Sela)
When the earth quakes, and all its inhabitants tremble, I am the one who holds it steady. (Selah)
4 Io ho detto agl'insensati: Non siate insensati; Ed agli empi: Non alzate il corno;
To those who boast I say, ‘Don't boast!’ I tell the wicked, ‘Don't be proud!’
5 Non levate il vostro corno ad alto; [E non] parlate col collo indurato.
No, don't be proud and arrogant, insulting heaven.”
6 Perciocchè nè di Levante, nè di Ponente, Nè dal deserto, [viene] l'esaltamento.
For no one, from the east to the west, or from the wilderness, should think so highly of themselves.
7 Ma Iddio [è] quel che giudica; Egli abbassa l'uno, ed innalza l'altro.
God is the one who decides—who he will bring down and who he will lift up.
8 Perciocchè il Signore ha in mano una coppa, Il cui vino [è] torbido; Ella [è] piena di mistione, ed egli ne mesce; Certamente tutti gli empi della terra ne succeranno [e] berranno le fecce.
For the Lord has a cup in his hand, full of bubbling wine mixed with spices. He pours it out, and all the wicked drink it deeply, down to the last drop.
9 Ora, quant'è a me, io predicherò [queste cose] in perpetuo, Io salmeggerò all'Iddio di Giacobbe.
But I will speak about you forever. I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10 E mozzerò tutte le corna degli empi; E [farò che] le corna de' giusti saranno alzate.
For God says, “I will break the power of the wicked; but I will give my support to those who do what is good.”
