Salmi 7
1 Siggaion di Davide, il quale egli cantò al Signore, sopra le parole di Cus Beniaminita SIGNORE Iddio mio, io mi confido in te; Salvami da tutti quelli che mi perseguitano, e riscuotimi;
Yahweh my God, I come to you to protect me. Rescue me, save me from all those who are pursuing me [in order to harm me].
2 Che talora [il mio nemico] non rapisca l'anima mia come un leone; E [non la] laceri, senza che [vi sia] alcuno che [mi] riscuota.
If you do not do that, they will tear me into pieces like a lion does [when it attacks the animals it wants to kill], and no one will save me [from them].
3 Signore Iddio mio, se ho fatto questo, Se vi è perversità nelle mie mani;
Yahweh my God, if I have done anything that is wrong,
4 Se ho renduto mal [per bene] a chi viveva in pace meco ([Io], che ho riscosso colui che mi era nemico senza cagione),
if I have done evil to some friend who did good things to me, or if, for no good reason, I have spared (OR, acted violently toward) those who were my enemies,
5 Perseguiti pure il nemico l'anima mia, e [l]'aggiunga, E calpesti la vita mia, [mettendola] per terra; E stanzi la mia gloria nella polvere. (Sela)
allow my enemies to pursue me and capture me. Allow them to trample me into the ground and leave me [SYN] [lying dead] in the dirt.
6 Levati, Signore, nell'ira tua; Innalzati contro a' furori de' miei nemici, E destati in mio favore; tu hai ordinato il giudicio.
But Yahweh, because you are [very] angry [with those who pursue me], arise and attack/defeat my enemies who are furiously/angrily [attacking me] Do to them what is just!
7 E circonditi la raunanza de' popoli; E torna poi in luogo elevato di sopra ad essa.
Gather around you the people of [all] nations, and rule them from where you are in heaven [MTY].
8 Il Signore giudicherà i popoli; Signore, giudicami; [Giudica] di me secondo la mia giustizia, e la mia integrità.
Yahweh, judge the people of [all] nations! And, Yahweh, show that I have done nothing that is wrong.
9 Deh! venga meno la malvagità de' malvagi, E stabilisci l'[uomo] giusto; Conciossiachè [tu sii] l'Iddio giusto, che provi i cuori e le reni.
God, you know what every person is thinking, and because you are righteous, you [always] do what is just/right. [So now] stop evil people from doing wicked [deeds], and defend [all of us who are] righteous!
10 Il mio scudo [è] in Dio, Che salva quelli che son diritti di cuore.
God, you protect me like a shield [protects soldiers] [MET]; you protect all those who are righteous in their inner being.
11 Iddio [è] giusto giudice, E un Dio che si adira ogni giorno.
You judge [everyone] correctly, and every day you punish [wicked people].
12 Se [il mio nemico] non si converte, egli aguzzerà la sua spada; [Già] ha teso l'arco suo, e l'ha preparato.
Whenever your enemies do not (repent/change their behavior), [it is as though] [MET] you sharpen your sword and put a string on your bow [to get ready to kill them].
13 Egli ha apparecchiate arme mortali; Egli adopererà le sue saette contro agli ardenti persecutori.
You are preparing your weapons that kill those whom they strike; the arrows that you will shoot have flaming tips.
14 Ecco, [il mio nemico] partorisce iniquità; Egli ha conceputo affanno, e partorirà inganno.
Wicked people tell lies, and they think that they surely will be able to do [MET] the evil things that they are planning to do [just as surely as] a pregnant woman [knows that she is going to give birth to a child] [MET].
15 Egli ha cavata una fossa, e l'ha affondata; Ma egli stesso è caduto nella fossa [ch'egli] ha fatta.
But when they dig a deep pit [to trap others], they themselves will fall into it.
16 Il travaglio ch'egli dà [altrui] gli ritornerà sopra la testa, E la sua violenza gli scenderà sopra la sommità del capo.
They themselves will experience the trouble that they want to cause others to have; they will hurt themselves by the violent things that they want to do to others.
17 Io loderò il Signore, secondo la sua giustizia; E salmeggerò il Nome del Signore Altissimo.
I praise Yahweh because he [always acts] righteously/justly; I sing to praise Yahweh, the one who is much greater than any other god.
