Salmi 62
1 Salmo di Davide, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, sopra [i figliuoli di] Iedutun L'ANIMA mia si acqueta in Dio solo; Da lui [procede] la mia salute.
“To the chief musician, upon Jeduthun, a psalm of David.” Only in God my soul trusted in silence: from him cometh my salvation.
2 Egli solo [è] la mia rocca e la mia salvezza, Il mio alto ricetto; io non sarò giammai grandemente smosso.
Only he is my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defense: I shall not be greatly moved.
3 Infino a quando vi avventerete sopra un uomo? [Voi stessi] sarete uccisi tutti quanti; [E sarete] simili ad una parete chinata, [E ad] un muricciuolo sospinto.
How long will ye devise mischief against a man? will ye all assault him murderously, as though he were a falling wall, a tottering fence?
4 Essi non consigliano d'altro che di sospinger giù [quest'uomo] dalla sua altezza; Prendono piacere in menzogna; Benedicono colla lor bocca, Ma maledicono nel loro interiore. (Sela)
Yea, from his height do they take counsel to cast [him] down; they delight in lies: with their mouth do they bless, but inwardly do they curse. (Selah)
5 Anima mia, acquetati in Dio solo; Perciocchè la mia speranza [pende] da lui.
Yea, in God hope in silence, my soul; for from him is my expectation.
6 Egli solo [è] la mia rocca e la mia salvezza; Egli [è] il mio alto ricetto, io non sarò giammai smosso.
Only he is my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defence: I shall not be moved.
7 In Dio [è] la mia salvezza e la mia gloria; In Dio [è] la mia forte rocca, il mio ricetto.
With God are my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength [and] my protection are in God.
8 Confidatevi in lui, o popolo, in ogni tempo; Spandete i vostri cuori nel suo cospetto; Iddio [è] la nostra speranza. (Sela)
Trust in him at all times, O ye people; pour out before him your heart: God is a protection for us. (Selah)
9 Gli uomini volgari non [sono] altro che vanità, E i nobili [altro che] menzogna; [Se fosser messi] in bilance, Tutti insieme sarebbero pi[ù] leggieri che la vanità stessa.
Verily nought are the sons of common men, a lie the sons of the great; they must rise in the balance; they are altogether [lighter] than nought.
10 Non vi confidate in oppressione, Nè in rapina; non datevi alla vanità; Se le ricchezze abbondano, Non [vi] mettete il cuore.
Do not put your trust in defrauding, and be not rendered vain through robbery: if riches flourish, set not your heart [upon them].
11 Iddio ha parlato una volta, E due volte ho udito lo stesso; Che ogni forza [appartiene] a Dio;
Once hath God spoken; [yea, ] twice [what] I have heard: that strength belongeth unto God.
12 E che a te, Signore, [appartiene] la benignità; Perciocchè tu renderai la retribuzione a ciascuno secondo le sue opere.
And unto thee, O Lord, belongeth kindness; for thou wilt recompense every man according to his works.
