Salmi 54

1 Maschil di Davide, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, sopra Neghinot. Intorno a ciò che gli Zifei vennero a dire a Saulle: Davide non si nasconde egli appresso di noi? O DIO, salvami per lo tuo Nome, E fammi ragione per la tua potenza.

To him that excelleth on Neginoth. A Psalme of David, to give instruction. When the Ziphims came and said unto Saul, Is not David hid among us? Save mee, O God, by thy Name, and by thy power iudge me.

2 O Dio, ascolta la mia orazione; Porgi gli orecchi alle parole della mia bocca.

O God, heare my prayer: hearken vnto the wordes of my mouth.

3 Perciocchè degli [uomini] stranieri si son levati contro a me; E degli [uomini] violenti cercano l'anima mia, [I quali] non pongono Iddio davanti agli occhi loro. (Sela)

For strangers are risen vp against me, and tyrants seeke my soule: they haue not set God before them. (Selah)

4 Ecco, Iddio [è] il mio aiutatore; Il Signore [è] fra quelli che sostengono l'anima mia.

Beholde, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that vpholde my soule.

5 Egli renderà il male a' miei nemici. Distruggili per la tua verità.

He shall rewarde euill vnto mine enemies: Oh cut them off in thy trueth!

6 Io ti farò sacrificio d'[animo] volonteroso; Signore, io celebrerò il tuo Nome, perciocchè [è] buono.

Then I will sacrifice freely vnto thee: I wil praise thy Name, O Lord, because it is good.

7 Perciocchè esso mi ha tratto fuori d'ogni distretta; E l'occhio mio ha veduto ne' miei nemici [ciò che io desiderava].

For he hath deliuered me out of al trouble, and mine eye hath seene my desire vpon mine enemies.
