Salmi 43

1 O DIO, fammi ragione, e dibatti la mia lite; Liberami dalla gente spietata, dall'uomo frodolente ed iniquo.

Judge me, O God, and defend my cause against the vnmercifull people: deliuer mee from the deceitfull and wicked man.

2 Perciocchè tu [sei] l'Iddio della mia fortezza; perchè mi hai scacciato? Perchè vo io attorno vestito a bruno, Per l'oppression del nemico?

For thou art the God of my strength: why hast thou put me away? why goe I so mourning, when the enemie oppresseth me?

3 Manda la tua luce, e la tua verità; giudinmi esse, [Ed] introducanmi al monte della tua santità, e ne' tuoi tabernacoli.

Sende thy light and thy trueth: let them leade mee: let them bring mee vnto thine holy Mountaine and to thy Tabernacles.

4 Allora verrò all'Altare di Dio, all'Iddio dell'allegrezza del mio giubilo; E ti celebrerò colla cetera, o Dio, Dio mio.

Then wil I go vnto the altar of God, euen vnto the God of my ioy and gladnes: and vpon the harpe wil I giue thanks vnto thee, O God, my God.

5 Perchè ti abbatti, anima mia? e perchè ti commovi in me? Aspetta Iddio; perciocchè ancora lo celebrerò; [Egli è] la compiuta salvezza della mia faccia, e il mio Dio.

Why art thou cast downe, my soule? and why art thou disquieted within mee? waite on God: for I will yet giue him thankes, he is my present helpe, and my God.
