Salmi 33
1 VOI giusti, giubilate nel Signore; La lode [è] decevole agli [uomini] diritti.
Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for it becommeth vpright men to be thankefull.
2 Celebrate il Signore colla cetera; Salmeggiategli col saltero [e col] decacordo.
Prayse the Lord with harpe: sing vnto him with viole and instrument of ten strings.
3 Cantategli un nuovo cantico, Sonate maestrevolmente con giubilo.
Sing vnto him a newe song: sing cheerefully with a loude voyce.
4 Perciocchè la parola del Signore è diritta; E tutte le sue opere [son fatte] con verità.
For the word of the Lord is righteous, and all his workes are faithfull.
5 Egli ama la giustizia e la dirittura; La terra è piena della benignità del Signore.
He loueth righteousnesse and iudgement: the earth is full of the goodnesse of the Lord.
6 I cieli sono stati fatti per la parola del Signore, E tutto il loro esercito per lo soffio della sua bocca.
By the worde of the Lord were the heauens made, and all the hoste of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 Egli ha adunate le acque del mare come [in] un mucchio; Egli ha riposti gli abissi [come] in tesori.
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as vpon an heape, and layeth vp the depths in his treasures.
8 Tutta la terra tema del Signore; Abbianne spavento tutti gli abitanti del mondo.
Let all the earth feare the Lord: let al them that dwell in the world, feare him.
9 Perciocchè egli disse [la parola], e [la cosa] fu; Egli comandò, e [la cosa] surse.
For he spake, and it was done: he commanded, and it stood.
10 Il Signore dissipa il consiglio delle genti, Ed annulla i pensieri de' popoli.
The Lord breaketh the counsell of the heathen, and bringeth to nought the deuices of the people.
11 Il consiglio del Signore dimora in eterno; I pensieri del suo cuore [dimorano] per ogni età.
The counsell of the Lord shall stand for euer, and the thoughts of his heart throughout all ages.
12 Beata la gente di cui il Signore [è] l'Iddio; [Beato] il popolo, [il quale] egli ha eletto per sua eredità.
Blessed is that nation, whose God is the Lord: euen the people that he hath chosen for his inheritance.
13 Il Signore riguarda dal cielo, Egli vede tutti i figliuoli degli uomini.
The Lord looketh downe from heauen, and beholdeth all the children of men.
14 Egli mira, dalla stanza del suo seggio, Tutti gli abitanti della terra.
From the habitation of his dwelling he beholdeth all them that dwell in the earth.
15 [Egli è quel] che ha formato il cuor di essi tutti, Che considera tutte le loro opere.
He facioneth their hearts euery one, and vnderstandeth all their workes.
16 Il re non è salvato per grandezza di esercito; L' [uomo] prode non iscampa per grandezza di forza.
The King is not saued by the multitude of an hoste, neither is the mightie man deliuered by great strength.
17 Il cavallo [è] cosa fallace per salvare, E non può liberare colla grandezza della sua possa.
A horse is a vaine helpe, and shall not deliuer any by his great strength.
18 Ecco, l'occhio del Signore [è] inverso quelli che lo temono; Inverso quelli che sperano nella sua benignità;
Beholde, the eye of the Lord is vpon them that feare him, and vpon them, that trust in his mercie,
19 Per riscuoter l'anima loro dalla morte, E per conservarli in vita in [tempo di] fame.
To deliuer their soules from death, and to preserue them in famine.
20 L'anima nostra attende il Signore; Egli [è] il nostro aiuto, e il nostro scudo.
Our soule waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helpe and our shielde.
21 Certo, il nostro cuore si rallegrerà in lui; Perciocchè noi ci siam confidati nel Nome della sua santità.
Surely our heart shall reioyce in him, because we trusted in his holy Name.
22 La tua benignità, o Signore, sia sopra noi, Siccome noi abbiamo sperato in te.
Let thy mercie, O Lord, be vpon vs, as we trust in thee.
