Salmi 20

1 Salmo di Davide, [dato] al Capo de' Musici IL Signore ti risponda nel giorno che tu sarai in distretta; Leviti ad alto in salvo il Nome dell'Iddio di Giacobbe;

For the end, a Psalm of David. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.

2 Manditi soccorso dal Santuario, E sostengati da Sion;

Send thee help from the sanctuary, and aid thee out of Sion.

3 Ricordisi di tutte le tue offerte, E riduca in cenere il tuo olocausto. (Sela)

Remember all thy sacrifice, and enrich thy whole-burnt-offering. (Pause)

4 Diati [ciò che è] secondo il cuor tuo, E adempia ogni tuo consiglio.

Grant thee according to thy heart, and fulfill all thy desire.

5 Noi canteremo di allegrezza per la tua vittoria, Ed alzeremo bandiere nel Nome dell'Iddio nostro. Il Signore adempia tutte le tue domande.

We will exult in thy salvation, and in the name of our God shall we be magnified: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Ora so, che il Signore ha salvato il suo unto; Egli gli risponderà dal cielo della sua santità; La vittoria della sua destra [è] con gran potenza.

Now I know that the Lord has saved his Christ: he shall hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is mighty.

7 Gli uni [si fidano] in carri, e gli altri in cavalli; Ma noi ricorderemo il Nome del Signore Iddio nostro.

Some [glory] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will glory in the name of the Lord our God.

8 Quelli sono andati in giù, e son caduti; Ma noi siamo restati in piè, e ci siam rizzati.

They are overthrown and fallen: but we are risen, and have been set upright.

9 Salva, Signore; Rispondaci il re nel giorno che noi grideremo.

O Lord, save the king: and hear us in whatever day we call upon thee.
