Salmi 116
1 IO amo [il Signore]; perciocchè egli ascolta La mia voce, [e] le mie supplicazioni.
It is lovely to me that the Lord heareth my voice, my supplications.
2 Poichè egli ha inchinato a me il suo orecchio, Io [lo] invocherò tutti i giorni della mia vita.
For he hath inclined his ear unto me: therefore throughout all my days will I call on him.
3 I legami della morte mi avevano circondato, E le distrette del sepolcro mi avevano colto; Io aveva scontrata angoscia e cordoglio. (Sheol h7585)
The bands of death had compassed me, and the pangs of the nether world had overtaken me; I had met with distress and sorrow: (Sheol h7585)
4 Ma io invocai il Nome del Signore, [Dicendo: ] Deh! Signore, libera l'anima mia.
I then called on the name of the Lord, I beseech thee, O Lord, release my soul.
5 Il Signore [è] pietoso e giusto; E il nostro Dio è misericordioso.
Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; and our God is merciful.
6 Il Signore guarda i semplici; Io era ridotto in misero stato, Ed egli mi ha salvato.
The Lord preserveth the simple: I was in misery, and he helped me.
7 Ritorna, anima mia, al tuo riposo; Perciocchè il Signore ti ha fatta la tua retribuzione.
Return, O my soul, unto thy rest; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Poichè, [o Signore], tu hai ritratta l'anima mia da morte, Gli occhi miei da lagrime, I miei piedi da caduta;
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
9 Io camminerò nel tuo cospetto Nella terra de' viventi.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of life.
10 Io ho creduto, [e però] certo io parlerò. Io era grandemente afflitto;
I believe, therefore will I speak: I was greatly afflicted;
11 Io diceva nel mio smarrimento: Ogni uomo [è] bugiardo.
I indeed said in my despondency, Every man is a liar.
12 Che renderò io al Signore? Tutti i suoi beneficii [son] sopra me.
What shall I give in return unto the Lord for all his bounties toward me?
13 Io prenderò il calice delle salvazioni, E predicherò il Nome del Signore.
The cup of salvation will I lift up, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
14 Io pagherò i miei voti al Signore, Ora in presenza di tutto il suo popolo.
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people.
15 La morte de' santi del Signore [È] preziosa nel suo cospetto.
Grievous in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his pious ones.
16 Deh! Signore, [esaudiscimi]; perciocchè io [son] tuo servitore; Io [son] tuo servitore, figliuolo della tua servente; Tu hai sciolti i miei legami.
O Lord, truly am I thy servant, I am thy servant, —the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosened my fetters.
17 Io ti sacrificherò sacrificio di lode, E predicherò il Nome del Signore.
Unto thee will I offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and on the name of the Lord will I call.
18 Io pagherò i miei voti al Signore, Ora in presenza di tutto il suo popolo;
My vows will I pay unto the Lord, yea, in the presence of all his people,
19 Ne' cortili della Casa del Signore, In mezzo di te, o Gerusalemme. Alleluia.
In the courts of the house of the Lord, in thy midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah.
