Matteo 8
1 ORA, quando egli fu sceso dal monte, molte turbe lo seguitarono.
Nowe when he was come downe from the mountaine, great multitudes followed him.
2 Ed ecco, un lebbroso venne, e l'adorò, dicendo: Signore, se tu vuoi, tu puoi nettarmi.
And loe, there came a Leper and worshipped him, saying, Master, if thou wilt, thou canst make me cleane.
3 E Gesù, distesa la mano, lo toccò, dicendo: Sì, io lo voglio, sii netto. E in quello stante la lebbra di esso fu nettata.
And Iesus putting foorth his hand, touched him, saying, I will, be thou cleane: and immediatly his leprosie was clensed.
4 E Gesù gli disse: Guarda che tu nol dica ad alcuno; ma va', mostrati al sacerdote, ed offerisci l'offerta che Mosè ordinò, in testimonianza a loro.
Then Iesus saide vnto him, See thou tell no man, but goe, and shewe thy selfe vnto the Priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a witnesse to them.
5 ORA, quando egli fu entrato in Capernaum, un centurione venne a lui, pregandolo, e dicendo:
When Iesus was entred into Capernaum, there came vnto him a Centurion, beseeching him,
6 Signore, il mio famiglio giace in casa paralitico, gravemente tormentato.
And saide, Master, my seruant lieth sicke at home of the palsie, and is grieuously pained.
7 E Gesù gli disse: Io verrò, e lo sanerò.
And Iesus saide vnto him, I will come and heale him.
8 Ed il centurione, rispondendo, disse: Signore, io non son degno che tu entri sotto al mio tetto; ma solamente di' la parola, ed il mio famiglio sarà guarito.
But the Centurion answered, saying, Master, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come vnder my roofe: but speake the worde onely, and my seruant shall be healed.
9 Perciocchè io son uomo sotto[posto] alla podestà [altrui], ed ho sotto di me de' soldati; e [pure, se] dico all'uno: Va', egli va; e [se] all'altro: Vieni, egli viene; e [se dico] al mio servitore: Fa' questo, egli [lo] fa.
For I am a man also vnder the authoritie of an other, and haue souldiers vnder me: and I say to one, Goe, and he goeth: and to another, Come, and he commeth: and to my seruant, Doe this, and he doeth it.
10 E Gesù, avendo udite [queste cose], si maravigliò, e disse a coloro che lo seguitavano: Io vi dico in verità, che non pure in Israele ho trovata cotanta fede.
When Iesus heard that, he marueiled, and said to them that folowed him, Verely, I say vnto you, I haue not found so great faith, euen in Israel.
11 Or io vi dico, che molti verranno di Levante e di Ponente, e sederanno a tavola con Abrahamo, con Isacco, e con Giacobbe, nel regno de' cieli.
But I say vnto you, that many shall come from the East and West, and shall sit downe with Abraham, and Isaac, and Iacob, in the kingdome of heauen.
12 Ed i figliuoli del regno saranno gettati nelle tenebre di fuori. Quivi sarà il pianto, e lo stridor de' denti.
And the children of the kingdome shall be cast out into vtter darkenes: there shalbe weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 E Gesù disse al centurione: Va'; e come hai creduto, siati fatto. Ed il suo famiglio fu guarito in quello stante.
Then Iesus saide vnto the Centurion, Goe thy way, and as thou hast beleeued, so be it vnto thee, And his seruant was healed the same houre.
14 POI Gesù, entrato nella casa di Pietro, vide la suocera di esso che giaceva in letto con la febbre.
And when Iesus came to Peters house, he sawe his wiues mother layed downe, and sicke of a feuer.
15 Ed egli le toccò la mano, e la febbre la lasciò; ed ella si levò, e ministrava loro.
And he touched her hande, and the feuer left her: so she arose, and ministred vnto them.
16 Ora, fattosi sera, gli furono presentati molti indemoniati; ed egli, con la parola, cacciò fuori gli spiriti, e sanò tutti i malati;
When the Euen was come, they brought vnto him many that were possessed with deuils: and he cast out the spirits with his worde, and healed all that were sicke,
17 acciocchè si adempiesse ciò che fu detto dal profeta Isaia dicendo: Egli ha prese sopra di sè le nostre infermità, ed ha portate le nostre malattie.
That it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Esaias the Prophet, saying, He tooke our infirmities, and bare our sickenesses.
18 OR Gesù, vedendo d'intorno a sè molte turbe, comandò che si passasse all'altra riva.
And when Iesus sawe great multitudes of people about him, he commanded them to goe ouer the water.
19 Allora uno Scriba, accostatosi, gli disse: Maestro, io ti seguirò, dovunque tu andrai.
Then came there a certaine Scribe, and said vnto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoeuer thou goest.
20 E Gesù gli disse: Le volpi hanno delle tane, e gli uccelli del cielo de' nidi; ma il Figliuol dell'uomo non ha pur dove posare il capo.
But Iesus saide vnto him, The foxes haue holes, and the birdes of the heauen haue nestes, but the Sonne of man hath not whereon to rest his head.
21 Poi un altro, [ch'era] de' suoi discepoli, gli disse: Signore, permettimi che prima io vada, e seppellisca mio padre.
And another of his disciples saide vnto him, Master, suffer me first to goe, and burie my father.
22 Ma Gesù gli disse: Seguitami, e lascia i morti seppellire i loro morti.
But Iesus said vnto him, Followe me, and let the dead burie their dead.
23 ED essendo egli entrato nella navicella, i suoi discepoli lo seguitarono.
And when he was entred into ye ship, his disciples followed him.
24 Ed ecco, avvenne in mare un gran movimento, talchè la navicella era coperta dalle onde; or egli dormiva.
And beholde, there arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the ship was couered with waues: but he was a sleepe.
25 E i suoi discepoli, accostatisi, lo svegliarono, dicendo: Signore, salvaci, noi periamo.
Then his disciples came, and awoke him, saying, Master, saue vs: we perish.
26 Ed egli disse loro: Perchè avete voi paura, o [uomini] di poca fede? E destatosi, sgridò i venti e il mare, e si fece gran bonaccia.
And he said vnto them, Why are ye fearefull, O ye of litle faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea: and so there was a great calme.
27 E la gente si maravigliò, dicendo: Qual [uomo] è costui, che eziandio il mare ed i venti gli ubbidiscono?
And the men marueiled, saying, What man is this, that both the windes and the sea obey him!
28 E QUANDO egli fu giunto all'altra riva, nella contrada de' Ghergheseni, gli si fecero incontro due indemoniati, usciti de' monumenti, fieri oltre modo, talchè niuno poteva passar per quella via.
And when he was come to the other side into ye countrey of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with deuils, which came out of the graues very fierce, so that no man might goe by that way.
29 Ed ecco, gridarono, dicendo: Che [vi è] tra noi e te, o Gesù, Figliuol di Dio? sei tu venuto qua, per tormentarci innanzi il tempo?
And beholde, they cryed out, saying, Iesus the sonne of God, what haue we to do with thee? Art thou come hither to tormet vs before ye time?
30 Or lungi da essi vi era una greggia di molti porci, che pasceva.
Nowe there was, afarre off from them, a great heard of swine feeding.
31 E i demoni lo pregavono, dicendo: Se tu ci cacci, permettici di andare in quella greggia di porci.
And the deuils besought him, saying, If thou cast vs out, suffer vs to goe into the heard of swine.
32 Ed egli disse loro: Andate. Ed essi, usciti, se ne andarono in quella greggia di porci; ed ecco, tutta quella greggia di porci si gettò per lo precipizio nel mare, e quelli morirono nelle acque.
And he said vnto them, Go. So they went out and departed into the heard of swine: and beholde, the whole heard of swine ranne headlong into the sea, and died in the water.
33 E coloro che [li] pasturavano fuggirono; e, andati nella città, riferirono tutte queste cose, ed anche il fatto degli indemoniati.
Then the heardmen fled: and when they were come into the citie, they tolde all things, and what was become of them that were possessed with the deuils.
34 Ed ecco, tutta la città uscì incontro a Gesù; ed avendolo veduto, lo pregarono che si dipartisse da' lor confini.
And beholde, all ye citie came out to meete Iesus: and when they sawe him, they besought him to depart out of their coastes.
