Marco 14
1 ORA, due giorni appresso, era la pasqua, e [la festa de]gli azzimi; e i principali sacerdoti, e gli Scribi, cercavano il modo di pigliar Gesù con inganno, e di ucciderlo.
Now it was the Passover and the Unleavened [cakes], after two days. And the High-priests and Scribes were seeking, how, with guile, they might secure, and lay him;
2 Ma dicevano: Non [lo facciam] nella festa, che talora non vi sia qualche tumulto del popolo.
for they were saying—Not in the feast, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 OR essendo egli in Betania, in casa di Simone lebbroso, mentre era a tavola, venne una donna, avendo un alberello d'olio odorifero di nardo schietto, di gran prezzo; e, rotto l'alberello, glielo versò sopra il capo.
And, he being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining, there came a woman, holding an alabaster-jar of perfume, pure spikenard, very costly; and breaking the jar she was pouring down [the perfume], upon his head.
4 Ed alcuni indegnarono tra sè stessi, e dissero: Perchè si è fatta questa perdita di quest'olio?
But there were some much displeased among themselves—To what end hath, this waste of the perfume happened?
5 Poichè si sarebbe potuto venderlo più di trecento denari, e quelli darli a' poveri. E fremevano contro a lei.
For this perfume could have been sold for above three hundred denaries, and given unto the destitute! and they were indignant with her.
6 Ma Gesù disse: Lasciatela; perchè le date voi noia? ella ha fatta una buona opera inverso me.
But, Jesus, said—Let her alone! Why are ye reproaching, her? A seemly work, hath she wrought, in me;
7 Perciocchè, sempre avete i poveri con voi; e quando vorrete, potete far loro del bene; ma me non mi avete sempre.
For, always, have ye, the destitute, with you, and whensoever ye please, ye can, unto them, [at any time] do well! But, me, not, always, have ye.
8 Ella ha fatto ciò che per lei si poteva; ella ha anticipato d'ungere il mio corpo, per una imbalsamatura.
What she had, she used, —She took it beforehand to anoint my body for the burial;
9 Io vi dico in verità, che per tutto il mondo, dovunque questo evangelo sarà predicato, sarà eziandio raccontato ciò che costei ha fatto, in memoria di lei.
And, verily, say unto you—Wheresoever the glad-message shall be proclaimed throughout the whole world, —also what she did, will be told for a memorial of her.
10 ALLORA Giuda Iscariot, l'un dei dodici, andò a' principali sacerdoti, per darlo lor nelle mani.
And, Judas Iscariot, who was one of he twelve, went away unto the High-priests, that, him, he might deliver up unto them.
11 Ed essi, udito [ciò], si rallegrarono, e promisero di dargli denari. Ed egli cercava il modo di tradirlo opportunamente.
Now, when they heard, they rejoiced, and promised to give him, silver; and he was seeking how, at a favourable opportunity, he might, deliver him up.
12 ORA, nel primo giorno [della festa] degli azzimi, quando si sacrificava la pasqua, i suoi discepoli gli dissero: Dove vuoi che andiamo ad apparecchiarti da mangiar la pasqua?
And, on the first day of the unleavened cakes, when, the passover, they were slaying, his disciples say unto him—Where wilt thou, we depart and make ready, that thou mayest eat the passover?
13 Ed egli mandò due de' suoi discepoli, e disse loro: Andate nella città, e voi scontrerete un uomo, portando un testo [pieno] d'acqua; seguitelo.
And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them—Go your way into the city, and there will meet you a man, a jar of water, bearing, —follow him;
14 E, dovunque egli sarà entrato, dite al padron della casa: Il Maestro dice: Ov'è la stanza, dov'io mangerò la pasqua co' miei discepoli?
and, wheresoever he shall enter, say ye unto the householder—The teacher, saith, Where is my lodging, where, the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
15 Ed egli vi mostrerà una gran sala acconcia, tutta presta; preparateci quivi [la pasqua].
And, he, unto you, will shew, a large upper-room, spread ready, and, there, make ye ready for us.
16 E i suoi discepoli andarono, e vennero nella città, e trovarono come egli avea lor detto; ed apparecchiarono la pasqua.
And the disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found, according as he had said unto them, —and they made ready the passover.
17 Ed egli, quando fu sera, venne co' dodici.
And, when evening arrived, he cometh, with the twelve.
18 E, mentre erano a tavola, e mangiavano, Gesù disse: Io vi dico in verità, che l'un di voi, il qual mangia meco, mi tradirà.
And, as they were reclining and eating, Jesus said—Verily, I say unto you—One from among you, will deliver me up, he that is eating with me.
19 Ed essi presero ad attristarsi, e a dirgli ad uno ad uno: [Sono] io desso?
They began to be grieved, and to be saying unto him, one by one, —Can it be, I?
20 Ed egli, rispondendo, disse loro: [Egli è] uno de' dodici, il quale intinge meco nel piatto.
And, he, said unto them—One of the twelve, he that is dipping with me into the [one] bowl:
21 Certo, il Figliuol dell'uomo se ne va, siccome egli è scritto di lui; ma guai a quell'uomo, per cui il Figliuol dell'uomo è tradito! ben sarebbe stato per lui di non esser mai nato.
Because, the Son of Man, indeed, goeth his way, —according as it is written concerning him; but alas! for that man, through whom the Son of Man is being delivered up, —Well for him, if that man, had not been born!
22 E mentre essi mangiavano, Gesù prese del pane; e fatta la benedizione, lo ruppe, e [lo] diede loro, e disse: Prendete, mangiate; quest'è il mio corpo.
And, as they were eating, taking a loaf, he blessed and brake, and gave unto them, and said—Take! this, is, my body;
23 Poi, preso il calice, e rese grazie, [lo] diede loro; e tutti ne bevvero.
And, taking a cup, he offered thanks, and gave unto them; and they, all, drank of it.
24 Ed egli disse loro: Quest'è il mio sangue, che [è il sangue] del nuovo patto, il quale è sparso per molti.
And he said unto them—This, is, my blood of the covenant, that is to be poured out in behalf of many.
25 Io vi dico in verità, che io non berrò più del frutto della vigna, fino a quel giorno che io lo berrò nuovo nel regno di Dio.
Verily, I say unto you—No more, will I in anywise drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I shall be drinking it new, in the kingdom of God.
26 E dopo ch'ebbero cantato l'inno, se ne uscirono al monte degli Ulivi.
And, having sung praise, they went forth unto the Mount of Olives.
27 E GESÙ disse loro: Voi tutti sarete scandalezzati in me questa notte; perciocchè egli è scritto: Io percoterò il Pastore, e le pecore saranno disperse.
And Jesus saith unto them—Ye, all, will find cause of stumbling, because it is written, —I will smite the shepherd, and, the sheep, will be scattered abroad;
28 Ma dopo che sarò risuscitato, io andrò dinanzi a voi in Galilea.
But, after my arising, I will go before you into Galilee.
29 E Pietro gli disse: Avvegnachè tutti [gli altri] sieno scandalezzati di te, io però non lo sarò.
And, Peter, said unto him—Even if, all, shall find cause of stumbling, certainly not, I.
30 E Gesù gli disse: Io ti dico in verità, che oggi, in questa stessa notte, avanti che il gallo abbia cantato due volte, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte.
And Jesus saith unto him—Verily, I say unto thee, thou, this day, in this night, before that twice a cock crow, thrice, will deny me.
31 Ma egli vie più fermamente diceva: Quantunque mi convenisse morir teco, non però ti rinnegherò. Il simigliante dicevano ancora tutti [gli altri].
But he, most vehemently, was saying—Even though I must needs die with thee, in nowise, will I, deny thee. Likewise, indeed, were, all besides, saying.
32 POI vennero in un luogo detto Ghetsemane; ed egli disse a' suoi discepoli: Sedete qui, finchè io abbia orato.
And they come into an estate the name of which is Gethsemane, and he saith unto his disciples—Sit ye here, while I pray.
33 E prese seco Pietro, e Giacomo, e Giovanni; e cominciò ad essere spaventato e gravemente angosciato.
And he taketh Peter and James and John with him, and began to be exceedingly amazed, and in great distress;
34 E disse loro: L'anima mia è occupata di tristizia infino alla morte; dimorate qui, e vegliate.
and he saith unto them—Encompassed with grief is my soul, unto death: Abide ye here, and be watching.
35 E andato un poco innanzi, si gettò in terra, e pregava che, se era possibile, quell'ora passasse oltre da lui.
And, going forward a little, he fell upon the ground, and was praying that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him;
36 E disse: Abba, Padre, ogni cosa ti [è] possibile; trasporta via da me questo calice; ma pure, non ciò che io voglio, ma ciò che tu [vuoi].
and was saying—Abba! O Father! All things, are possible to thee: Bear aside this cup from me; but not what, I, will, but what, thou, [wilt].
37 Poi venne, e trovò [i discepoli] che dormivano, e disse a Pietro: Simone, dormi tu? non hai tu potuto vegliar pure un'ora?
And he cometh and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter—Simon! art thou sleeping? Hadst thou not strength, one hour, to watch?
38 Vegliate, ed orate, che non entriate in tentazione; bene [è] lo spirito pronto, ma la carne [è] debole.
Be watching and praying, that ye enter not into temptation: the, spirit, indeed, is willing, but, the flesh, weak.
39 E di nuovo andò, ed orò, dicendo le medesime parole.
And, again, departing, he prayed, [the same thing, saying].
40 E tornato, trovò [i discepoli], che di nuovo dormivano; perciocchè i loro occhi erano aggravati; e non sapevano che rispondergli.
And, again, coming, he found them sleeping, for their eyes were being, weighed down, —and they knew not what to answer him.
41 Poi venne la terza volta, e disse loro: Dormite pur da ora innanzi, e riposatevi; basta! l'ora è venuta; ecco, il Figliuol dell'uomo è dato nelle mani dei peccatori.
And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them—Ye are sleeping the remaining time and taking your rest: —It is enough! the hour hath come! Lo! the Son of Man is being delivered up into the hands of sinners.
42 Levatevi, andiamo; ecco, colui che mi tradisce è vicino.
Be rousing yourselves, let us be leading on! Lo! he that is delivering me up, hath drawn near.
43 ED in quello stante, mentre egli parlava ancora, giunse Giuda, l'uno de' dodici, e con lui una gran turba, con ispade, ed aste, da parte de' principali sacerdoti, degli Scribi, e degli anziani.
And, straightway, while yet he is speaking, Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, cometh near, and, with him, a multitude, with swords and clubs, from the High-priests and the Scribes and the Elders.
44 Or colui che lo tradiva avea dato loro un segnale, dicendo: Colui il quale io avrò baciato è desso; pigliatelo, menatelo sicuramente.
He that is delivering him up hath given an agreed sign unto them, saying—Whomsoever I shall kiss, he, it is! Secure him, and be leading away, safely.
45 E come fu giunto, subito si accostò a lui, e disse: Ben ti sia, Maestro! e lo baciò.
And, coming, straightway, stepping forward to him, he saith—Rabbi! and openly kissed him.
46 Allora coloro gli misero le mani addosso, e lo presero.
And, they, thrust their hands on him, and secured him.
47 Ed un di coloro ch'erano quivi presenti trasse la spada, e percosse il servitore del sommo sacerdote, e gli spiccò l'orecchio.
[A certain] one of the by-standers, drawing a sword, smote the servant of the High priest, and took off his, ear.
48 E Gesù fece lor motto, e disse: Voi siete usciti con ispade, e con aste, come contro ad un ladrone, per pigliarmi.
And Jesus, answering, said unto them—As against a robber, came ye forth, with swords and clubs, to arrest me?
49 Io era tuttodì appresso di voi insegnando nel tempio, e voi non mi avete preso: ma [ciò è avvenuto], acciocchè le scritture sieno adempiute.
Daily, was I with you, in the temple, teaching; and ye secured me not. But, that, the Scriptures, may be fulfilled…
50 E tutti, lasciatolo, se ne fuggirono.
And they, all, forsook, him, and fled.
51 Ed un certo giovane lo seguitava, involto d'un panno lino sopra la [carne] ignuda, e i fanti lo presero.
And, a certain young man, was following with him, having cast about himself a fine Indian cloth, over his naked body, —and they are securing him;
52 Ma egli, lasciato il panno, se ne fuggì da loro, ignudo.
but, he, leaving behind the cloth, fled naked.
53 ED essi ne menarono Gesù al sommo sacerdote; appresso il quale si raunarono insieme tutti i principali sacerdoti, e gli anziani, e gli Scribi.
And they led away Jesus unto the High-priest; and all the High-priests and the Elders and the Scribes gather together.
54 E Pietro lo seguitava da lungi, fin dentro alla corte del sommo sacerdote; ove si pose a sedere co' sergenti, e si scaldava al fuoco.
And, Peter, afar of, followed him, as far as within, into the court of the High-priest; and was sitting with the attendants, and warming himself by the light.
55 Or i principali sacerdoti, e tutto il concistoro, cercavan testimonianza contro a Gesù, per farlo morire; e non ne trovavano alcuna.
Now, the High-priest, and all the High-council, were seeking, against Jesus, testimony, with the intent to put him to death, —and were not finding any;
56 Perciocchè molti dicevano falsa testimonianza contro a lui; ma le loro testimonianze non eran conformi.
for, many, were bearing false-witness against him, and the testimonies were not, agreed.
57 Allora alcuni, levatisi, disser falsa testimonianza contro a lui, dicendo:
And some, standing up, were bearing false-witness against him, saying—
58 Noi l'abbiamo udito che diceva: Io disfarò questo tempio, fatto d'opera di mano, e in tre giorni ne riedificherò un altro, che non sarà fatto d'opera di mano.
We, heard him saying, I, will pull down this shrine, the one made by hand, and, in three days, another, not made by hand, will I raise.
59 Ma, non pur così la lor testimonianza era conforme.
And, not even so, was the testimony, agreed.
60 Allora il sommo sacerdote, levatosi in piè quivi in mezzo, domandò a Gesù, dicendo: Non rispondi tu nulla? che testimoniano costoro contro a te?
And, the High-priest rising up into the midst, questioned Jesus, saying—Answerest thou, nothing? What are these, against thee, witnessing?
61 Ma egli tacque, e non rispose nulla. Da capo il sommo sacerdote lo domandò, e gli disse: Sei tu il Cristo, il Figliuol del Benedetto?
But, he, was silent, and answered, nothing. Again, the High-priest was questioning him, and saith unto him—Art, thou, the Christ the Son of the Blessed?
62 E Gesù disse: [Sì], io [lo] sono; e voi vedrete il Figliuol dell'uomo sedere alla destra della Potenza, e venire con le nuvole del cielo.
And Jesus said—I, am; and ye shall see the Son of Man—sitting, on the right hand, of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.
63 E il sommo sacerdote, stracciatesi le vesti, disse: Che abbiam noi più bisogno di testimoni?
And, the High-priest, having rent asunder his inner-garments, saith—What, further, need have we, of witnesses?
64 Voi avete udita la bestemmia; che ve [ne] pare? E tutti lo condannarono, [pronunziando] ch'egli era reo di morte.
Heard ye the profanity? What, to you, doth it appear? And they, all, condemned him to be, worthy, of, death.
65 Ed alcuni presero a sputargli addosso, ed a velargli la faccia, e a dargli delle guanciate, e a dirgli: Indovina. Ed i sergenti gli davan delle bacchettate.
And some began to be spitting at him, and, covering up his face, and to be buffeting him, and saying to him—Prophesy! And, the attendants, with smart blows, took him.
66 ORA, essendo Pietro nella corte di sotto, venne una delle fanti del sommo sacerdote.
And, Peter, being, below in the court, there cometh one of the maid-servants of the High-priest;
67 E veduto Pietro che si scaldava, lo riguardò in viso, e disse: Ancora tu eri con Gesù Nazareno.
and, seeing Peter warming himself, having looked at him, saith—And, thou, wast, with the Nazarene—with Jesus.
68 Ma egli lo negò, dicendo: Io non [lo] conosco, e non so ciò che tu ti dica. Ed uscì fuori all'antiporto, e il gallo cantò.
But, he, denied, saying—I neither know [him], nor do I well understand what, thou, sayest; and went out into the porch.
69 E la fante, vedutolo di nuovo, cominciò a dire a quelli ch'eran quivi presenti: Costui è di quelli.
And, the maid-servant, seeing him, began, again, to be saying unto the by-standers—This one, is, from among them.
70 Ma egli da capo lo negò. E poco stante, quelli ch'eran quivi disser di nuovo a Pietro: Veramente tu sei di quelli; perciocchè tu sei Galileo, e la tua favella ne ha la somiglianza.
But, he, again, was denying. And, after a little again, the by-standers, were saying unto Peter—Truly, thou, art, from among them; for thou art, a Galilaean, also.
71 Ma egli prese a maledirsi, ed a giurare: Io non conosco quell'uomo che voi dite.
And, he, began to be cursing and swearing—I know not this man, of whom ye are speaking!
72 E il gallo cantò la seconda volta; e Pietro si ricordò della parola che Gesù gli avea detta: Avanti che il gallo canti due volte, tu mi rinnegherai tre volte. E si mise a piangere.
And, straightway, a second time, a cock, crowed; and Peter was reminded of the declaration, how Jesus had said to him—Before a cock, twice, crow, thrice, wilt thou deny me. And, when he thought thereon, he began to weep.
