Giudici 10
1 ORA, dopo Abimelec, surse, per liberare Israele, Tola, figliuolo di Pua, figliuolo di Dodo, uomo d'Issacar, il quale dimorava in Samir, nel monte di Efraim.
And there arose after Abimelech to deliver Israel Tola' the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the mountain of Ephraim.
2 Ed egli giudicò Israele ventitrè anni; poi morì, e fu seppellito in Samir.
And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and then died, and was buried in Shamir.
3 E, dopo lui, surse Iair, Galaadita, il quale giudicò Israele ventidue anni.
And after him arose Yair, the Gil'adite, and judged Israel twenty and two years;
4 Ed esso ebbe trenta figliuoli, i quali cavalcavano trent'asinelli, e aveano trenta città, che si chiamano fino ad oggi le Villate di Iair,
And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass-colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Chavvoth-yair unto this day, which are in the land of Gil'ad.
5 le quali [sono] nel paese di Galaad. Poi Iair morì, e fu seppellito in Camon.
And Yair died, and was buried in Kamon.
6 E I figliuoli d'Israele continuarono a far ciò che dispiace al Signore, e servirono a' Baali, e ad Astarot, e agli iddii di Siria, e agl'iddii di Sidon, e agl'iddii di Moab, e agl'iddii de' figliuoli di Ammon, e agl'iddii de' Filistei; e abbandonarono il Signore, e non gli servivano [più].
And the children of Israel repeated to do the evil in the eyes of the Lord, and they served the Be'alim, and 'Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of 'Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and they forsook the Lord, and served not him.
7 Laonde l'ira del Signore si accese contro ad Israele; ed egli lo vendè nelle mani de' Filistei, e nelle mani dei figliuoli di Ammon.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of 'Ammon.
8 E in quell'anno, [ch'era] il diciottesimo, quelli afflissero ed oppressarono i figliuoli d'Israele, [cioè] tutti i figliuoli d'Israele ch'[erano] di là dal Giordano, nel paese degli Amorrei, ch' [è] in Galaad.
And they afflicted and oppressed the children of Israel that year; [and] for eighteen years all the children of Israel that were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Emorites, which is in Gil'ad.
9 E i figliuoli di Ammon passarono il Giordano, per combattere eziandio contro a Giuda, e contro a Beniamino, e contro alla casa di Efraim; onde Israele fu grandemente distretto.
And the children of 'Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sorely distressed.
10 Allora i figliuoli d'Israele gridarono al Signore, dicendo: Noi abbiamo peccato contro a te; conciossiachè abbiamo abbandonato il nostro Dio, e abbiamo servito a' Baali.
And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Be'alim.
11 E il Signore disse a' figliuoli d'Israele: Quando voi avete gridato a me, non vi ho io salvati dalle mani degli Egizi, e degli Amorrei, e de' figliuoli di Ammon, e de' Filistei,
And the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Behold [I delivered you] from the Egyptians, and from the Emorites, from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines.
12 e de' Sidonii, e degli Amalechiti, e dei Maoniti, i quali vi oppressavano?
And when the Zidonians, and the 'Amalekites, and the Ma'onites did oppress you, and ye cried to me, I delivered you also out of their hand.
13 Ma voi mi avete abbandonato, ed avete servito ad altri dii; perciò, io non vi libererò più.
And yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods; wherefore I will deliver you no more.
14 Andate, e gridate agl'iddii che avete scelti; salvinvi essi al tempo della vostra angoscia.
Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let these deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
15 Ma i figliuoli d'Israele dissero al Signore: Noi abbiamo peccato; facci tu tutto quello che ti piacerà; sol ti preghiamo che tu ci liberi oggi.
And the children of Israel said unto the Lord, We have sinned: do thou unto us entirely as it seemeth good in thy eyes; only deliver us, we pray thee, this time.
16 Allora tolsero gl'iddii degli stranieri del mezzo di loro, e servirono al Signore; ed egli si accorò l'animo per lo travaglio d'Israele.
And they put away the strange gods from their midst, and served the Lord; and his soul was grieved for the trouble of Israel.
17 Or i figliuoli di Ammon si adunarono a grida, e si accamparono in Galaad. I figliuoli d'Israele si adunarono anch'essi, e si accamparono in Mispa.
And the children of 'Ammon were called together, and they encamped in Gil'ad. And the children of Israel also assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.
18 E il popolo, [cioè] i principali di Galaad, dissero gli uni agli altri: Chi sarà l'uomo che comincerà a combattere contro a' figliuoli di Ammon? esso sarà capo a tutti gli abitanti di Galaad.
And the people, the princes of Gil'ad, said one to another, Whatever man it be that will begin to fight against the children of 'Ammon, shall become the head over all the inhabitants of Gil'ad.
