Giosué 16
1 POI fu tratta la sorte per li figliuoli di Giuseppe, [e la lor parte scadde loro] dal Giordano di Gerico, presso delle acque di Gerico, verso il Levante, [traendo] verso il deserto che sale da Gerico per li monti di Betel.
And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, unto the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho by the mount Beth-el,
2 E [questo confine] si stendeva da Betel verso Luz; poi passava lungo i confini degli Archei, fino ad Atarot;
And [the boundary] went out from Beth-el to Luz, and passed along unto the boundary of the Arkites to 'Ataroth,
3 poi scendeva verso Occidente, a' confini de' Giafletei, fino a' confini di Bet-horon disotto, e fino a Ghezer; e faceva capo al mare.
And went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphleti, unto the border of Beth-choron the lower, and to Gezer; and its terminations were toward the sea.
4 Così i figliuoli di Giuseppe, Manasse, ed Efraim, ebbero la loro eredità.
This did the children of Joseph, Menasseh and Ephraim, take as their inheritance.
5 Or il confine de' figliuoli di Efraim, [distinti] per le lor nazioni; il confine, [dico], della loro eredità, dall'Oriente, fu Atrot-addar, fino a Bet-horon disopra.
And [this] was the boundary of the children of Ephraim according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance on the east side was 'Atroth-addar, up to Beth-choron the upper;
6 E questo confine si stendeva dal Settentrione verso l'Occidente, fino a Micmetat; e dall'Oriente si volgeva verso Taanat-Silo, e da quel luogo passava dall'Oriente fino a Ianoa.
And the boundary went out toward the sea to Michmethath on the north; and the boundary fetched a compass eastward unto Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Yanochah;
7 Poi scendeva da Ianoa in Atarot, e Naarat, e s'incontrava in Gerico, e faceva capo al Giordano.
And it went down from Yanochah to 'Ataroth, and to Na'arath, and touched on Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
8 Questo confine andava da Tappua verso Occidente, fino alla valle delle canne, e faceva capo al mare. Questa [fu] l'eredità della tribù de' figliuoli di Efraim, secondo le lor nazioni.
From Tappuach westward the border went out unto the brook Kanah; and its terminations were toward the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim after their families;
9 Oltre alle città che furon messe da parte per li figliuoli di Efraim per mezzo l'eredità de' figliuoli di Manasse; tutte queste città, [dico], con le lor villate.
And [in addition to this] the cities which were separated for the children of Ephraim in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Menasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10 Or essi non iscacciarono i Cananei che abitavano in Ghezer: laonde que' Cananei son dimorati per mezzo Efraim infino a questo giorno, e sono stati fatti tributari.
And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt among the Ephraimites until this day, and became tributary servants.
