Giosué 15

1 OR [questa] fu la sorte della tribù de' figliuoli di Giuda, per le lor nazioni: L'estremità [del lor paese] verso il Mezzodì fu il deserto di Sin, a' confini di Edom, verso il Mezzodì.

So then the boundary of the tribe of the sons of Judah, by their families, —reached unto the boundary of Edom, the desert of Zin southward, on the extreme south;

2 Così ebbero per confine dal Mezzodì, l'estremità del mar salso, dalla punta che riguarda verso il Mezzodì.

so their south boundary beginneth at the end of the Salt Sea, —from the bay that turneth to the south;

3 E [questo confine] procedeva verso il Mezzodì, alla salita di Acrabbim, e passava fino a Sin; e dal Mezzodì saliva a Cades-barnea, e passava in Hesron; e [di là] saliva in Adar, e poi si volgeva verso Carcaa;

and goeth forth on the south of the cliffs of Akrabbim, and crosseth over to Zin, and goeth up on the south of Kadesh-barnea, —and passeth over by Hezron, and goeth up to Addar, and turneth round to Karka;

4 poi passava verso Asmon, e si stendeva fino al Torrente di Egitto, e questo confine faceva capo al mare. Questo sarà, [disse Giosuè], il vostro confine meridionale.

and passeth over to Azmon, and goeth forth at the ravine of Egypt, and so the extensions of the boundary are to the sea. This, shall be your south boundary.

5 E il confine orientale [fu] il mar salso, fino all'estremità del Giordano. E il confine dal lato settentrionale [fu] dalla punta di quel mare, [la quale è] all'estremità del Giordano.

And, a boundary eastward, is the Salt Sea, as far as the end of the Jordan. And, the boundary on the north side, is from the bay of the sea, from the end of the Jordan.

6 E questo confine saliva in Bet-hogla, e passava dal lato settentrionale di Bet-araba, e [di là] saliva al Sasso di Bohan Rubenita;

And the boundary goeth up Beth-hoglah, and passeth over, on the north, by Beth-arabah, —and the boundary goeth up by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;

7 poi saliva in Debir, dalla valle di Acor; e dal Settentrione riguardava verso Ghilgal, che [è] dirimpetto alla salita di Adummim, che [è] dal lato meridionale del torrente; poi questo confine passava alle acque di En-semes, e faceva capo ad En-roghel.

and the boundary goeth up towards Debir, out of the vale of Achor, then northward, turning unto Gilgal, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the ravine, —then the boundary passeth over unto the waters of En-shemesh, and so the extensions thereof are unto En-rogel:

8 Poi questo confine saliva alla valle de' figliuoli di Hinnom, allato [alla città] de' Gebusei, dal Mezzodì, [la quale] è Gerusalemme; e [di là] saliva alla sommità del monte, che [è] dirimpetto alla valle di Hinnom, verso l'Occidente, il quale [è] all'estremità della valle de' Rafei, verso il Settentrione.

then ascendeth the boundary by the valley of the son of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite, on the south, the same, is Jerusalem, —and the boundary goeth up unto the top of the mountain which faceth the valley of Hinnom, to the west, which is at the end of the Vale of Giants, northwards;

9 Poi questo confine girava dalla sommità di quel monte, verso la fonte delle acque di Neftoa, e procedeva verso le città del monte di Efron; poi girava verso Baala, [che] è Chiriat-iearim.

and the boundary turneth round, from the top of the mountain, unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and goeth out unto the cities of Mount Ephron, —then the boundary turneth round to Baalah, the same, is Kiriath-jearim;

10 Poi questo confine si volgeva da Baala verso Occidente, al monte di Seir, e passava fino allato al monte di Iearim dal Settentrione, [nel luogo detto] Chesalon; poi scendeva in Bet-semes, e passava in Timna.

then the boundary goeth round from Baalah westward, unto Mount Seir, and passeth over unto the slope of Mount Yearim, on the north, the same, is Chesalon, —and descendeth Bethshemesh, and passeth over Timnah;

11 Poi questo confine procedeva al canto di Ecron, verso il Settentrione, e girava verso Siccheron, e passava al monte Baala, e si stendeva fino a Iabneel, e faceva capo al mare.

then the boundary goeth forth unto the side of Ekron, northward, then the boundary turneth round towards Shikkeron, and crosseth over Mount Baalah, and goeth out at Jabneel, —and the extensions of the boundary are to the sea.

12 E il confine dall'Occidente [era] il mar grande, e i confini. Questi [furono] i confini de' figliuoli di Giuda d'ogni intorno, secondo le lor nazioni.

And, as a west boundary, are the great sea and coast. This, is the boundary of the sons of Judah, round about, by their families.

13 Or [Giosuè] avea data a Caleb, figliuolo di Gefunne, una porzione nel mezzo dei figliuoli di Giuda, secondo il comandamento fattogli dal Signore, [cioè: ] Chiriat-Arba, [il quale Arba fu] padre di Anac; essa [è] Hebron.

And, to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, gave he a portion, in the midst of the sons of Judah, at the bidding of Yahweh, by Joshua, —even the City of Arba, father of Anak, the same, is Hebron.

14 E Caleb scacciò di là i tre figliuoli di Anac, Sesai, ed Ahiman, e Talmai, nati di Anac.

And Caleb dispossessed from thence, the three sons of Anak, —Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak.

15 E di là egli salì agli abitanti di Debir, il cui nome per addietro [era stato] Chiriat-sefer.

And he went up from thence, against the inhabitants of Debir, —now, the name of Debir, formerly, was Kiriath-sepher.

16 E Caleb disse: Chi percoterà Chiriat-sefer, e la prenderà, io gli darò Asca, mia figliuola, per moglie.

Then said Caleb, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and captureth it, I will give unto him Achsah, my daughter, to wife.

17 E Otniel, figliuolo di Chenaz, fratello di Caleb, la prese; e Caleb gli diede Acsa, sua figliuola, per moglie.

And Othniel son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, captured it, —so he gave unto him Achsah, his daughter, to wife.

18 E quando ella venne [a marito], indusse Otniel a domandare un campo a suo padre; poi ella si gittò giù d'in su l'asino; e Caleb le disse: Che hai?

And it came to pass, when she came, that she moved him to ask of her father a field, and, when she alighted from off the ass, Caleb said unto her—What aileth thee?

19 Ed ella disse: Fammi un dono; conciossiachè tu m'abbi data una terra asciutta, dammi anche delle fonti d'acque. Ed egli le donò delle fonti ch'erano disopra, e delle fonti ch'erano disotto.

And she said—Give me a present, for, dry land, hast thou given me, therefore must thou give me, pools of water. So he gave her upper pools and lower pools.

20 Quest'[è] l'eredità della tribù de' figliuoli di Giuda, secondo le lor nazioni.

This, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah, by their families.

21 Nell'estremità [della contrada] della tribù de' figliuoli di Giuda, a' confini di Edom, verso il Mezzodì, v'erano queste città: Cabseel, ed Eder, e Iagur;

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah, towards the boundary of Edom in the south, were, —Kabzeel and Eder, and Jagur,

22 e China, e Dimona, e Adada;

and Kinah and Dimonah, and Adadah, —

23 e Chedes, e Hasor, e Itnan;

and Kedesh and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24 e Zif, e Telem, e Bealot;

Ziph and Talem, and Bealoth,

25 e Hasor-hadatta e Cheriot (Hesron è Hasor);

and Hazor-hadattah and Kerioth-hezron, the same, is Hazor;

26 e Amam e Sema, e Molada;

Amam and Shema, and Moladah,

27 e Hasar-gadda, e Hesmon, e Betpelet;

and Hazar-gaddah and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet.

28 e Hasar-sual, e Beerseba, e Biziotia; e Baala, e Iim, ed Esem;

and Hazarshual and Beer-sheba, with the hamlets thereof,

29 ed Eltolad, e Chesil, e Horma;

Baalah and Iyyim, and Ezem,

30 e Siclag, e Madmanna,

and Eltolad and Chesil, and Hormah,

31 e Sansanna;

and Ziklag and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

32 e Labaot, e Silhim, e Ain, e Rimmon; in tutto ventinove città, con le lor villate.

and Lebaoth and Shilhim, and En-rimmon, —all the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.

33 Nella pianura [v'erano queste città: ] Estaol, e Sorea, e Asna;

In the lowland, —Eshtaol and Zorah, and Ashnah,

34 e Zanoa, ed En-gannim, e Tappua, ed Enam;

and Zanoah and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam;

35 e Iarmut, e Adullam, e Soco, e Azeca;

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah;

36 e Saaraim, e Aditaim, e Ghedera, e Ghederotaim; quattordici città, con le lor villate.

and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim, —fourteen cities, with their villages.

37 [Poi] Senan, e Hadasa, e Migdal-Gad;

Zenan and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,

38 e Dilan, e Mispe, e Iocteel;

and Dilan and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

39 e Lachis, e Boscat, ed Eglon;

Lachish and Bozkath, and Eglon,

40 e Cabbon, e Lamas, e Chitlis;

and Cabbon and Lahmas, and Chithlish,

41 e Ghederot, e Bet-Dagon, e Naama, e Maccheda; sedici città con le lor villate.

and Gederoth, Beth-dagon and Naamah, and Makkedah, —sixteen cities, with their villages.

42 [Poi] Libna, ed Eter, e Asan;

Libnah and Ether, and Ashan,

43 e Ifta, e Asna, e Nesib;

and Iphtah and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44 e Cheila, e Aczib, e Maresa; nove città, con le lor villate;

and Keilah and Achzib, and Mareshah, —nine cities, with their villages.

45 [poi] Ecron, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate;

Ekron with her towns, and her villages.

46 da Ecron, e verso il mare, tutte [le città] che [sono] presso di Asdod, con le lor villate.

From Ekron, even unto the sea, —all that were by the side of Ashdod with their villages.

47 [Poi] Asdod, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate; Gaza, e le terre del suo territorio, e le sue villate, infino al Torrente di Egitto, e al mar grande, e i confini.

Ashdod, her towns and her villages. Gaza, her towns and her villages, as far as the ravine of Egypt, —and the great sea and coast.

48 E nel monte [v'erano queste città: ] Samir, e Iattir, e Soco;

And in the hill-country, —Shamir and Jattir, and Socoh,

49 e Danna, e Chiriat-sanna, [che] è Debir;

and Dannah and Kiriath-sannah, the same, is Debir,

50 e Anab, ed Estemo, e Anim;

and Anab and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

51 e Gosen, e Holon, e Ghilo; undici città, con le lor villate.

and Goshen and Holon, and Giloh, —eleven cities, with their villages.

52 [Poi] Arab, e Duma, ed Esan;

Arab and Rumah and Eshan,

53 e Ianum, e Bet-tappua, e Afeca;

and Janim and Beth-tappuah and Aphekah,

54 e Humta, e Chiriat-Arba, [che] è Hebron, e Sior; nove città, con le lor villate.

and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron, and Zior, —nine cities, with their villages.

55 [Poi] Maon, e Carmel, e Zif, e Iuta;

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph and Jutah,

56 e Izreel, e Iocdeam, e Zanoa;

and Jezreel and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

57 e Cain, e Ghibea, e Timna; dieci città, con le lor villate;

Kain, Gibeah and Timnah, —ten cities, with their villages.

58 [poi] Halhul, e Bet-sur, e Ghedor;

Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

59 e Maarat, e Bet-anot, ed Eltecon; sei città, con le lor villate.

and Maarath and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon, —six cities, with their villages.

60 [Poi] Chiriat-baal, [che] è Chiriat-iearim, e Rabba; due città, con le lor villate.

Kiriath-baal, the same, is Kiriath-jearim, and Rabbah, —two cities, with their villages.

61 Nel deserto [v'erano queste città: ] Bet-araba, e Middin, e Secaca;

In the desert, —Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

62 e Nibsan, e la Città del sale, ed Enghedi; sei città, con le lor villate.

and Nibshan and the City of Salt, and En-gedi, —six cities, with their villages.

63 Or i figliuoli di Giuda non poterono scacciare i Gebusei che abitavano in Gerusalemme; perciò i Gebusei son dimorati in Gerusalemme co' figliuoli di Giuda, infino a questo giorno.

But, as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not dispossess them, —so the Jebusites have dwelt with the sons of Judah, in Jerusalem, until this day.
