Giovanni 2
1 E TRE giorni [appresso], si fecero delle nozze in Cana di Galilea, e la madre di Gesù era quivi.
And the thirde day, was there a mariage in Cana a towne of Galile, and the mother of Iesus was there.
2 Or anche Gesù, co' suoi discepoli, fu chiamato alle nozze.
And Iesus was called also, and his disciples vnto the mariage.
3 Ed essendo venuto meno il vino, la madre di Gesù gli disse: Non hanno più vino.
Nowe when the wine failed, the mother of Iesus saide vnto him, They haue no wine.
4 Gesù le disse: Che [v'è] fra te e me, o donna? l'ora mia non è ancora venuta.
Iesus saide vnto her, Woman, what haue I to doe with thee? mine houre is not yet come.
5 Sua madre disse ai servitori: Fate tutto ciò ch'egli vi dirà.
His mother saide vnto the seruants, Whatsoeuer he sayeth vnto you, doe it.
6 Or quivi erano sei pile di pietra, poste secondo l'usanza della purificazion dei Giudei, le quali contenevano due, o tre misure grandi per una.
And there were set there, sixe waterpots of stone, after the maner of the purifying of the Iewes, conteining two or three firkins a piece.
7 Gesù disse loro: Empiete d'acqua le pile. Ed essi le empierono fino in cima.
And Iesus sayde vnto them, Fill the waterpots with water. Then they filled them vp to the brim.
8 Poi egli disse loro: Attingete ora, e portatelo allo scalco. Ed essi [gliel] portarono.
Then he sayde vnto them, Draw out nowe and beare vnto the gouernour of the feast. So they bare it.
9 E come lo scalco ebbe assaggiata l'acqua ch'era stata fatta vino (or egli non sapeva onde [quel vino] si fosse, ma ben lo sapevano i servitori che aveano attinta l'acqua), chiamò lo sposo, e gli disse:
Nowe when the gouernour of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, (for he knewe not whence it was: but the seruants, which drewe the water, knewe) the gouernour of ye feast called the bridegrome,
10 Ogni uomo presenta prima il buon vino; e dopo che si è bevuto largamente, il men buono; [ma] tu hai serbato il buon vino infino ad ora.
And saide vnto him, All men at the beginning set foorth good wine, and when men haue well drunke, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept backe the good wine vntill nowe.
11 Gesù fece questo principio di miracoli in Cana di Galilea, e manifestò la sua gloria; e i suoi discepoli credettero in lui.
This beginning of miracles did Iesus in Cana a towne of Galile, and shewed forth his glorie: and his disciples beleeued on him.
12 Dopo questo discese in Capernaum, egli, e sua madre, e i suoi fratelli, e i suoi discepoli, e stettero quivi non molti giorni.
After that, he went downe into Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: but they continued not many daies there.
13 OR la pasqua de' Giudei era vicina; e Gesù salì in Gerusalemme.
For the Iewes Passeouer was at hande. Therefore Iesus went vp to Hierusalem.
14 E trovò nel tempio coloro che vendevano buoi, e pecore, e colombi; e i cambiatori che sedevano.
And he found in the Temple those that sold oxen, and sheepe, and doues, and changers of money, sitting there.
15 Ed egli, fatta una sferza di cordicelle, li cacciò tutti fuor del tempio, insieme co' buoi, e le pecore; e sparse la moneta de' cambiatori, e riversò le tavole.
Then hee made a scourge of small cordes, and draue them all out of the Temple with the sheepe and oxen, and powred out the changers money, and ouerthrewe the tables,
16 Ed a coloro che vendevano i colombi disse: Togliete di qui queste cose; non fate della casa del Padre mio una casa di mercato.
And said vnto them that solde doues, Take these things hence: make not my fathers house, an house of marchandise.
17 E i suoi discepoli si ricordarono ch'egli è scritto: Lo zelo della tua casa mi ha roso.
And his disciples remembred, that it was written, The zeale of thine house hath eaten me vp.
18 Perciò i Giudei gli fecer motto, e dissero: Che segno ci mostri, che tu fai coteste cose?
Then answered the Iewes, and saide vnto him, What signe shewest thou vnto vs, that thou doest these things?
19 Gesù rispose, e disse loro: Disfate questo tempio, e in tre giorni io lo ridirizzerò.
Iesus answered, and said vnto them, Destroy this Temple, and in three daies I will raise it vp againe.
20 Laonde i Giudei dissero: Questo tempio è stato edificato in quarantasei anni, e tu lo ridirizzeresti in tre giorni?
Then said the Iewes, Fourtie and sixe yeeres was this Temple a building, and wilt thou reare it vp in three daies?
21 Ma egli diceva del tempio del suo corpo.
But he spake of the temple of his bodie.
22 Quando egli adunque fu risuscitato da' morti, i suoi discepoli si ricordarono ch'egli avea lor detto questo; e credettero alla scrittura, ed alle parole che Gesù avea dette.
Assoone therefore as he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembred that hee thus sayde vnto them: and they beleeued the Scripture, and the worde which Iesus had saide.
23 ORA, mentre egli era in Gerusalemme nella pasqua, nella festa, molti credettero nel suo nome, veggendo i suoi miracoli ch'egli faceva.
Nowe when hee was at Hierusalem at the Passeouer in the feast, many beleeued in his Name, when they sawe his miracles which he did.
24 Ma Gesù non fidava loro sè stesso, perciocchè egli conosceva tutti;
But Iesus did not commit him selfe vnto them, because he knewe them all,
25 e perciocchè egli non avea bisogno che alcuno gli testimoniasse dell'uomo, poichè egli stesso conosceva quello ch'era nell'uomo.
And had no neede that any should testifie of man: for he knewe what was in man.
